the white house where the first lady is celebrating her birthday with an equally star-studded crowd. and we get started with nischelle turner on the s.a.g. awards red carpet. how are you? >> well, i am doing great, and i need a date here on the red carpet of the s.a.g. awards. this is the actor's red carpet and we call it the actor the's red carpet, because it is where the actors honor the actors and i like it because it is short and quick and they give out 15 awards and they have a dinner and drink a little wine and there is going to be a party here in los angeles. so in 30 pi newts we will kick off a live actor preshow, and all of the hollywood actors and actresses will stop by to talk to us. it is going to be hot, but it is a very good day. >> if only you had told me ahead of time, i would have been right out there for you.
3:02 pm
>> and next team, martin, don't you stand me up. >> all right. you have a deal. thank you, nischelle. i look forward to talking to you later. and meanwhile, president obama has said that not even the nsa which is saying a lot knows who is on the guest list or the gift that he has for his wife. it is the first lady's 50th birthday party and without a doubt the hottest society ticket within the belt wway to nigh. the guests whoever they may be were given specific instructions about what to do beforehand and what they cannot bring. we hahave our reporter there. >> jennifer hudson the singer just arrived in washington, d.c. and she did confirm to tmz that she is at the ending the white house for the first lady later tonight, and she said she did not give the first lady a present, because that is okay,
3:03 pm
because she anticipates to get the party hopping with the new single. there is going to be a lot of dancing to the night. let me show you a picture of the invitation, because it says specifically to wear dance attire, and president obama has told people to wear comfortable shoes. this party is going to last well past midnight tonight at the white house and a lot of michelle obama's friends are coming in from chicago, and we have promised many celebrity guests and performers here. and i want the show you how much of the white house this party is taking over. the entire state floor, the first floor of the white house is open to party guests and to move from the blue room to the red and from the east side to the state dining room, and this is all going to be open. drinks and dessert will be served and a band on hand and it is going to be quite the party. martin, back to you. >> thank you senlen, i'm missing all of the fun. and chris christie has escaped the snowy new jersey for

the weekend, but he is headed for florida to stump for fellow republican rick scott who is the star of the fund-raising events, and most of them private invitation only, and you know, these campaign events are not open for the media, but from what you can see, can you see that christie's troubles are haunting him there? >> well, martin, first of all, michelle and sun sunlen are covering the parties and doing that, but this is covering a different situation going on here, because there is not a lot of access, as you can imagine at the fundraisers happening, and governor chris christie is here in the state of florida with three happening today. first one was in orlando, and a fund-raiser for governor rick scott, and then on to palm beach for a fund-raiser for the republican governor's association and up next is another one in fort lauderdale, and we also caught up with one woman who is inside of the event
3:05 pm
earlier in orlando, and let's just say that she played a little guessing game with us about what happened inside, and here is the interview. >> reporter: what was the reaction to governor christie in there? >> yes, very good. >> reporter: what did he talk about? >> well, he talked about how wonderful governor scott was. >> reporter: well, what did he say? >> well, absolutely nothing, he said absolutely nothing. scott is going to win. >> so you heard it there, martin, he said zip about the scandal, and this is a weekend full of events so perhaps maybe he is going to say something about one of the events happening there, but the biggest thing about this entire weekend and the trip to florida is that it is a measure of where chris christie stands in terms of the star power and the fund-raising abilities and at a news conference right after this unfolded, he was asked by a reporter whether or not this
3:06 pm
would affect his ability to be the chairman of the republican governor's association and he said, no it wouldn't, and he will continue the do his job, and that is what he is doing here this weekend in florida, fund-raising. >> thank you, or ttory, and doi great job with that drive-by int interview. >> and this morning a juvenile has been charminged with two charges of aggravated assault. two students were wounded in the gymnasium and both students are expected to make a full recovery. and the white house says it is time to lay down the weapons and talk about peace coming after yesterday's deadly attack in the afghan capital of kabul, and three americans were among the 21 people killed in that bomb and gun fire attack on a restaurant. they worked for the american university in kabul and the taliban has claimed responsible, and at least 19 people were

killed in a string of bombings across baghdad today, and another 74 wounded in seven explosions. iraq hoped to put the violence of the past year behind it, but just wednesday, 61 people were killed in a wave of attacks across the country. and firefighters struggling to put out a fire north of los angeles. the colby fire as it is known is only 30% contained after torching more than 1,800 acres and the fire is one symptom of california's catastrophic drought. governor jerry brown asked residents to use 20% less water to e help with the crisis, and the americans could see the impact at the grocery store. california farm and produce has nearly half of the fruits and vegetables grown in the country. and there is a good chance that the mcafee anti-virus

life has highs and lows and his xaep was left decades ago and he was on the run, and police in belize wanted to question him about the death of a neighbor. he went into the hiding and was deported from guatemala and today at age 68, he is putting all of that behind him. i want to bring in john mcafee who is joining us from colorado springs, colorado, and it is nice to see you again, sir, after running you down in belize and following your exploits elsewhere, thank you for coming on the show tonight. >> and it has been 14 months, and thank you again, and thank you for reminding me about my past, martin. >> well, let's ask about somebody else's past, and specifically the target hacking
3:12 pm
scandal, and of course, this is a big security concern for anyone losing their personal information, and what was your reaction when you heard about this big hacking? >> well w it was no surprise. we all know that the nsha has been spying on the americans, and that is the least of our problems and by the way, i would not want to be the president today and rather his party, because he is between a rock and a hard place with the nsa issue. we have the nsa saying that if you back off of this, we are s disarming at a time of heightened cyber warfare and the american public saying, enough is enough, and give us privacy, but it all folds into the target problem. i think that america has lost its way. we are in the first cyber war, and we are hopelessly ill prepa prepared. we have lost 110 million credit cards in one hack alone. and that is the target. 4 million to begin with and then
3:13 pm
the additional 70, and three other major department stores have been hacked. last week refrij gerators and microwave ovens and televisions were hacked in america and sending out bogus e-mails, and this is merely the beginning of a much larger attack, and the next war is not going to be bombs and guns and missiles, it is going to be destabilizing the american economy both socially and economically to the point that it collapses. and it won't be need for arms. >> and i know that you are an expert when it comes to security, and when it comes to protect ourselves is there a way we can or must we get used to the future where everything is open and out on the internet? >> well, if everything is open, and out on the internet, we are lost. with we have to have privacy, marti martin. it is a fundamental necessity of culture. privacy is a choice. if you have a dinner party with a new neighbor, you will choose
3:14 pm
to divulge certain things about yourself and restrict other thing things. when you get to know someone, then you divulge more and more, and this is the nature of privacy. we choose to di vvulge what we want, and we can't have everybody knows everything as that would be chaos. >> is there software available to the protect us when we shop and our privacy online? >> well, it is not just the software, martin, but how do we protect ourselves from ourselves. these hacks were not done by the high-tech people using software and hardware, and these attacs s were done using the frailties of human beings, and curiousty, and people break into the corporations not by breaking the encryption all of the time, but by dropping a thumb drive in front of a card that is owned by an overweight secretary on the

all right. let's bring in our favorite sports expert terrence moore. he is a sports contributor and sports columnist for mlb.com, and tomorrow's championship games between the broncos and patriots, and you have the super star quarterbacks peyton and brady, and you can't think of two other quarterbacks that you would like to see going head-to-head. >> well, martin, peyton manning has to win this thing. okay. look at this. peyton manning, and peyton manning is a guy that is on the verge of owning every passing record in the history of mankind, and yet he has a lifetime losing record in the post-season and now he has to win, because otherwise, you will be a pretty quarterback, and the

buys them from walmart and pays about $8 and the wife is not keen about that and he has heat over it, and she threw them out, and he went out to buy more and this goes to the superstition? >> yes. no question. people think of superstition when it comes to the players, but the coaches and the managers are just as superstitious, and you have nick saban the coach of alabama with his daughter giving him a penny before, just because, and the old yankee pitcher would have to jump over the line and not talk to it, and the old coach john thomson, not the young one, but the old one, with the towel over the shoulder, and not just for the perspirati perspiration, but the hexes need to be take n away. and if jim harbaugh's wife takes the khakis away, he will probably close himself in the

room and not watch it. >> and you are pretty outspoken on this when it comes to baseball introduced this year. >> yes. >> and tell me what bothers you about this instant replay? >> well, it is straight from satan and the bottom line is that if you are going to the baseball game, be prepared to bring your pajamas and the fluffy pillow, because it is going to be long. >> you think that it is going to drag it out. >> and they are talking about both managers have two challe e challenges up to the sixth inning, and then after that, they can call for a discretion replay, and that is very, very dangerous. >> and terrence, i know that we will talk more about it. thank you. >> thank you. and it is a big night for the tv staple, talking about "saturday night live" debut iin the first african-american female cast member in years. we le talk to a former cast member that knows very well about it next. wle talk to a for member that knows very well

bigger achievement than performing on "saturday night live," and tonight, sasheer sa mau ta steps on the stage of 30 rock as the first black female member in six years. it is a ton of honor and pressure, and especially since critics demanded that "snl" hire a black female. and we are joined by chris

parnell on the phone from los angeles. and chris, in five hours, she is going to be stepping live out on the stage. what do you think is going through her mind right now this first night? >> well, i am sure that she is bit nervous, and obviously, and she is probably gog to be talking about her sketches. they are probably finishing up the rehearsing of the sketches and heading to dinner soon at the nbc cafeteria with the rest of the cast and crew and then a live dress rehearsal and a break and then break and notes in lorne's office. >> and the producers have demanded this, because does this kind of add to the pressure on zamata, or is the pressure so huge it won't matter at all? >> well, it is a good question, and it is going to the add some pressure to it, but she comes to the show with a great skillset. she studied drama in college, and upright citizens brigade and
3:27 pm
done the standup, and had a series for the internet, and she is the perfect hire for the show really. >> and what about this idea of quota for the hiring which in essence shseems to imply and does everyone get a fair shot at "saturday night live"? >> well, i think that i can't give an honest answer, because i think that "snl" does a very good job of scouting, but obviously, more aggressive of hiring people of color, but i don't think that it is something that in any way they try not to do. i think they would love to have more diversity in the cast, but it is just depends where they are looking and the comedy troupes and the groundling like the upright citizens brigade and who they see out there in the country doing this stuff. >> and if you are the show, and
3:28 pm
the writers and the producers, do you acknowledge it? in other words, do you embrace this problem and the fact that you are bringing someone on as a result or do you make no mention of it or do you incorporate it into the comedy or just leave it alone? >> well, i would be surprised if they didn't make fun of it, and they made fun of it when kerry washington hosted towards the end of the last year to great effect, and it was a hilarious sketch, and i will be surprised if they don't, you know, they don't make fup of it themselv-- themselves. >> and does the style of the humor change as to who is a member of the cast and where they come from? >> well, it can, because all of the cast is expected to write on their own, and sasheer is obviously a writer. she is going to bring what she brings to the show, and she is go ing to probably have writers who tune in with her, and want to the contribute to what she brings and her writing, but, you know, she is a woman. you know, she's going to bring her own thing, and some of it may have to do with the fact that she is african h americ-amd
