lemon, but it is now called super bowl boulevard, because the biggest weekend is upon us, right, don? >> yes, it s. and the denver broncos will meet the seattle seahawks tomorrow evening in met -- metlife stadium in east rutherford, new jersey. and we will talk about the security here for the super bowl. because the police are closing some roads and scanning cars and beefing up patrols around new york and new jersey and plenty of eyes on alexandria field took flight with the airborne security system. >> reporter: protecting metlife stadium, and patrolling the spectacular air space around it, it is expected that 180 million fans will have their eyes on the field while u.s. customs and border protection agents take over the skies above it. we took a ride on one of three blackhawk helicopters that will form part of super bowl xlviii's

defensive line a ten-mile perimeter and strict no-fly zone. if anyone breaches that perimeter for any reason, they should expect to see a blackhawk up close. sort of a scary experience if you are up there flying, and say you unintentionally breach the perimeter. >> exactly. unless you have been trained in the military, you are highly unlikely to have flown in formation with another aircraft and that means that you have never been within 500 feet of another aircraft when you were flying. >> reporter: in case of a airspace intruder, a blackhawk would be the first to intercept, and escorting it to the ground where federal agents would be wait i waiting. >> well, first, they will be shocked to have a large aircraft like this come up very close to them, and then secondly, they will come to the realization that something is wrong. >> reporter: on our tour, we got our own surprise, although it was a welcomed one.

serving mayor with six terms. and staying in the midwest. they cannot get a break from the snow. chicago getting hit particularly hard. it has been snowing all day there and by the nightfall, the city could get eight inches. last month was the third snowiest january in history for the city. and i can speak for most of us when i say, come on, phil, wrap up the winter. that is right. punxsutawney phil, and tomorrow is groundhog day, and all eyes will be on him as he emerges from pennsylvania, and these are the pictures from last year, and let's get a preview of the forecast for groundhog day from jennifer gray. >> well, tomorrow, one of the biggest days in weather where phil, the groundhog, will see his shadow or not. it is the groundhog day, and the forecast is 37 degrees and cloud cover, and a 40% chance of rain/snow, and we are going to hope that this groundhog does not see his shadow, because if

he does, it will be six more weeks of winter, and if phil does not see his shadow, spring is going to arrive early, and a lot of the cities are hoping that spring will come early like detroit, and flint and toledo, ohio, and other areas where we have had incredible amounts of snow. the previous record was 29 in detroit, but record january snow in flint, and toledo, and fort wayne, and indianapolis, so a if number of folks up north hoping that it comes early. >> and it is getting warmer here which is welcomed news ahead of the big game. and the super bowl is also big business, as you well know. and it can mean big money for the fake merchandise, and now it is a busy time for those trying to stop the counterfeiters, and also, don lemon at the super bowl boulevard with the party in

well, new jersey gets to host the super bowl tomorrow well coming tons of tourists and their cash. the nfl sells $3 billion in goods each year, and the super bowl helps that, but what comes alongside it is counterfeit g r gear, and the feds have seized more than $21 million in fake goods since last june from hats to jerseys to t-shirts and as we found out, even fake tickets. >> reporter: along with the big game come the big bucks. >> everything is back. >> and we have no upcs here and

no holograms. >> and federal agents are getting a leg up on the criminals pedaling fake hats and jersey jerseys and even tickets. and they are targeting this seller. >> he said they were ready to go. >> and the feds found this, at least $500 to $1,000. are these real this is. >> no. >> did you know that they were not real? >> i just ordered them. >> hundreds and hundreds of fake jersey jerseys and fake super bowl gear for sale in plain sight. >> these are lasered on and instead of stitched and they are not original. >> how many did you sale? >> 100. >> and raking in profits, because he bought them for $15 a pop online and sold them for up to $70, but the real deal will often cost you hundreds. why is this worth the taxpayer dollars and why have all of the agents out here to take this guy down, and why it is worth it? >> because it is taking jobs away from the american public

and money is moved through various criminal organizations and funneled back through drugs and weapons. >> reporter: why are there more enterprise enterprises getting involved in the counterfeit game? >> because of the profits involved. >> reporter: higher than drugs? >> yes, absolutely. >> reporter: higher profits and the criminals will will see much less if any jail time if they are caught. >> and certainly, having the harsh harsher penalties is a disincentive. >> reporter: and this is the woman who is leading the fight against the counterfeits. this is a bronco that we bought yesterday, 88, and it is real? >> well, i am not seeing the tale tell features of the hologram, and it is coming off, so it is fake. >> it is fake? >> yes. >> reporter: and not just the jerseys, because the tickets scam people out of thousands of dollar dollars. >> and the first line of defense is hologram, and if you heat up the ink, it will disappear.

>> reporter: online, the fight is harder with a burgeoning market for fakes sglcht it is a fast and safe delivery and anybody who is selling the genuine product would not be worried about the safe delivery, and fit is too good to be true, it is. >> $28? >> yes, it is $28 for a jersey that is typically, $300. >> reporter: and some are doing it with the sole purpose of stealing your credit card information. it is an uphill battle for agents games at black market that is unafraid of the consequences. why risk it? >> money. it is about greed. >> reporter: one thing to get ripped off for a fake jersey, but another for fake tickets and then realize when you are heading into the big game to find out that they are not real, and so buy them from a reputable, reputable trust or from nfl ticket exchange and do not get scammed heading into the big day. all right.

president obama stands by the remasrk that marijuana is nt worse for a person than alcohol, but he talked about how both can be abused. he made the comments in an interview with our own jake tapper. so let's bring in our political commentators ben ferguson and marc lamont hill, and in a while, we will talk about the super bowl picks, but first, let's talk about the president and pot. this is how the president described his stance. >> i stand by my belief based on the scientific evidence that g marijuana for casual users is subject to abuse just like alcohol is, and should be treated as a public health

problem, and challenge. >> all right. so marc, i want to start with you, because the president also went on the say that but wen he you have heavy criminal penalties for the users and in some cases with the racial disparity, that is a problem. so what is your take on what the president said first in the new yorker, and then to our jake tapper about marijuana in this country as we watch states like colorado legalizing it for recreational use? >> well sh, i agree with the president wholeheartedly and i have been critical to the p president with regard to the justice issues, and the incarceration issues, and so this is a turn for me. the president is accurate by pointing to the medical evidence, that marijuana is no more of a problem than alcohol. and one thing we have prohibition against and one we make money off of, and that is a

prob lem. and also that we don't overstate the dangers of marijuana, but assess the criminal penalties to something that if it is abused it is a medical problem and not legal problem. and we have jails filled with people who have a medical problem. >> and also, ben, you have federal law that is marijuana classified as schedule i drug ecstasy and that is running parallel. >> and he is to be support iing the law of the land and not make a mockery of the job that the law enforcements are doing -- >> you think it is a mockery? >> yes, you are advocating for criminal activity and saying that something that is against the law as of now, and if you are the commander in chief, you cannot say that the you can pick and choose, americans, what laws you agree with and abide by, with but the job as the president is to say, this is the law, and if you want to change the law, change it.

but the president normalized a illegal activity in the mass majority of the country, and that is the problem. if you want to change the law, change it. >> and marc, the president said in the "new yorker" article, it is not something i encourage, but i have told my daughters, it is a bad idea and we are at a time when we are in sweeping change in this country and more and more people are getting on board with the easing or the legalization of marijuana, and we have seen it play out in several states. >> yes, absolutely. and that is why this is somewhat of an absurd argument, and ben said a few things that i disagree with, and the president was not ed a vadvocating to vio the laws, but he said in the "new yorker" article to change the law. >> and he was not backing up the law. >> and remember, a gap between the state level and the federal level, and the president said that we need to the talk and you also shauould not participate, d

you should roll one up tonight. >> well, the president of the united states should maybe come out and say, we should not have people in jail for recreational use, and that is one thing, but when you come out the normalize smoking marijuana and wen you are the president of the president of the united states of america, and -- >> he did not -- >> yes, he equated it with alcohol which is normalizing it. >> and let me jump in here, because marc to you and the "nos"new yorker" and also the interview with jake tapper the president said a cautionary note here, because he said that those who think that legalization are a panacea need to ask themselves some tough questions. marc? >> yes, he said that we should not romanticize legalization, and number two, he said that i tell my kids not the to do it, and numb with ber three, it is a bad idea. i don't see how saying something is a bad idea and should not be a panacea or normalizing it,

because he is simply not willing to be like a group of people wo say that it is the worst thing ever. and marijuana is not heroin, and we don't have to pretend it is. >> and ben, to you, what do you react to the president saying, look, i'm not saying that legalizing it is a panacea? >> well, think they though when he came out and talked about it and looks at it in the way of on the same level playing field as alcohol, and using it in the same sentence of done on purpose, and that is a cautionary tale from the president of the united states of america to some kids, because some kids may not read into anything but say that the president of the united states say it is different, mom and dad and police officer, and not as bad as alcohol, and so when you are this important of an individual and role model, you do not let the young people, especially, when this is something that people look up to, you don't equate it to alcohol and give the young kids the ability to say, look, the president said it is no different and why are you going after me, mr. officer?
