you are watching cnn newsroom. welcome back to our viewers in the united states and around the world. >> we want to check the headlines for you this hour. ships from aircraft from six countries are taking advantage of good weather while it lasts to look for debris from malaysia airlines flight 370. they are searching the indian ocean, an under water vehicle arrived in perth hours ago. both can search deep into the ocean. >> at least 176 people are unaccounted for, searchers look through a village in the u.s. state of washington. a landslide tore through, killing 24 people. eight bodys have been located.

now live, what are analysts saying what we can learn from the final partial ping sent from the plane? >>. >> this is another piece of crucial information that adds to the zig saw puzzle in the investigation. what we understand is, you will recall we talked about the handshakes or pings as we like to call them. connecting the aircraft with a satellite. now, that lead us to this kind of pathway, we believe mh 370 took toward the indian ocean. it has been reported that there was one final handshake at the 8:11 a.m., way, way into the morning after the flight was reported missing. in fact, an hour after the flight was reported missing this

partially handshake didn't make full contact. the "wall street journal" reported they don't believe it was done by anyone on board. according to investigators. in wasn't someone trying to make a distress signal. this partial ping does help investigators narrow things down, in terms of reference, where the aircraft is, exactly. or could be. and of course, the time frame. they know that flight went missing some time between 8:15 and 9:15 a.m. the search, i want to turn to the criminal investigation underway, by law enforcement. what process has been made with that? >> a crucial thing we are

waiting for is the flight simulator taken away from the pilot of the aircraft. he built it himself. installed it. friends told me this was nothing sinister at all. him taking his hobby home. taking the job home. wanting to share the joy of flying with everyone why it veered so much, and so far, out into the ocean, remotest point parts of the world. questions have to be asked and answered about the flight simulator. the fbi is looking at it. no news back from that. we do keep pushing, i must keep, what can you tell us.
