police do seem to be focusing in on these brothers. thanks to an id card that one of them may have left in a getaway car. what do we know about their whereabouts. >> in the last few hours, in the last 24 hours, of course, police really defending on this rural area in the north of france. this is the area they think the two kouachi brothers may be on the run. we saw helicopters really flying overhead and they're using special night vision equipment to really scour the heavily wooded area for those two suspects. now police say they may have spotted them on fight there on thursday, but that's as much as we know in terms of that sighting. just to give you an idea of how

far away that is, it's about 80 kilometers doing miles, about 50 miles. now this is as the brothers came to the gas station and threatened them. he said he was armed and they said they stole food and gas before driving away. he was not harmed. at least he did not say that anything had happened to him. now all of this led police to bring in a convoy of about 30 to 40 vehicles and set up roadblocks in the area. ten kilometer roadblocks we're hearing on the ground there. and as errol was saying just moments ago, what we have now, about 90,000 police presence in terms of the country really being deployed. now so far there is no indication that these two men have been found. one thing they did find very interesting enough, and we're not sure if this is just a coincidence was empty containers and gasoline inside a car that

9:06 pm
so all of this is shedding some light on who they are, but so far we don't know anything else. one thing i will point out before i throw it back to you is the fact that the justice minister basically said that one of them had actually been to yemen back in 2005. participanting a picture of what this operation is ongoing. we will continue to check in with you throughout the morning there as things develop. our chief security correspondent looked into the back ground of these two men.

9:39 pm
farm by farm to find these two brothers. it's an immense attack. they have been spotted once. they were spotted by police helicopters. one of the things that's curious about that search is apparently they have kept their clothes, their black clothing on, according to authorities, that they have kept the original black outfits. >> the black hoods -- >> we speculated they had changed their clothes. so that's another thing that is kind of curious about this. and may help out the authorities in their search. >> of course at this stage, you know, the rain obviously like you say will hinder them, but it will be very muddy. will that slow them down? there's still so much that we don't know. let's focus on the mood. it's been somber. what are parisians telling you? >> they're not going to let this
