activated here. that's why we saw such a heightened security being stepped up about some 10,500 soldiers taking to the streets of france. as well as many, many jewish schools. that gives you a sense of just how worried they are in regards to any sort of threats but specifically in light of that video that you mentioned and also in light of aqap claiming responsibility for that attack. it has been a concern for a while here in france and in much of europe. it has been something that has been discussed at great lengths specifically because there have been such large number of

europeans going to fight a war. let me break down the numbers so you get a sense of how many we are talking about. there are some 3,000 europeans who have gone to fight in syria. some 500 of those have returned to europe. so 3,000 left 500 returned. 250 have gone to the uk. 200 returned to france and 70 to belgium. that helps paint a picture of what exactly you have to deal with. fear is simmering for months over concern for fighters coming back and what kind of work they have been doing and this is why we are seeing security being stepped up and specifically what we saw, and the weapons dealer that it caught yesterday in

they became the first to successful climb the wall of el capitan. this took 19 days and a lot of team work. >> sheer accomplishment. two americans make history. the first free climbers to reach the top of a slap of formidable unforgiving rock. they climbed the don wall of el capitan. 19 days more than 900 meters and some of the hardest climbing of the world. tommy and kevin achieved the impossible. they documented the journey on social media, posting photos of their battered sands and their struggles. ropes and other safety devices

the more cynical viewers might think this is a political view. where he has had a terrible insurgency and it has borne the brunt of the violence. we have wounded soldiers. yesterday was armed forces rem brens day. it was a surprise visit but it was clearly carefully plans to coincide with that. when he spoke to the refugees he said that all of us all nigerians were concerned about the excesses of boko haram. let's take a listen to what he said. >> the president traumatized.

thing. a plan is another. i mean this is a large military. we have a story coming up about some of the complaints that some of the soldiers have. but this insurgency has been going on for years. it gets worse each and every year. it almost goes to show the size of the fight that the military and president are really up against. >> the battle that they're up against is huge. no doubt about it. the weapons that have trickled down especially after the dissent grags of libya has gal voe nized them. the fact that they have made significant gains seems to have galvanized them also. now they seem to be taking over huge chunks of territory.

the army is managing to hold on to the provential capitals. but it is a very, very hard battle and until they sort out the problems of corruption within the military among the leadership and until they get the gear to the soldier s oldier who has been in the front line of the battle we have been chasing him all day and we're still trying to catch up with him.

eventually we meet hidden in a tiny store he dares only spend a few minutes with us once he is not authorized to talk. his telling a side of the war we never hear. what it's like to be a soldier fighting boko haram. >> we are not issued, we buy the kits ourself. >> you have to buy it yourself? >> yes. >> that's incredible. >> his base is just outside of this town barely three hours' drive northeast of the capital it's where the mostly muslim north meets the mostly christian south. a twine suicide bombing killed 12 people right here there are thousands of troops stationed in this town and there are many more stories like the soldiers'

we're talking to. >> so this is what they gave you after your injury recommending for treatment? >> another soldier shows me his medical papers. he too, is not authorized to speak to us. his unit was outgunned. boko haram with bigger longer range weapons, more men and more ammunition. his comrades fled leaving him behind. >> we don't have the equipment to fight boko haram, yeah. >> three scary days alone on the run before reaching his base. his moral, rock bottom. things were about to get worse. >> the army won't pay for your drugs even though you got your injury fighting boko haram? >> they will not. >> we asked a senior official

other children seen in this video watch motionless. the teacher was questioned by police and detained thursday. they fear there th is not an isolated case at this nursery. since the investigation started monday they have found four more credible reports of violence. mothers are taking turn standing vigil with a sign saying no to violence against children no to child abuse. this mother says i don't send my child to nursery but this isn't someone else's problem, we all have to fight together. neither the teacher nor head have been officially identified but horrified citizens have outed them online publishing their names, homes and mobile

telephone numbers. not surprisingly their phones have been shut off. a teacher was reported to throw a child on to the ground for not taking a nap. that incident is still under investigation. >> two cases have some parents worried. less than 3% of all child abuse cases happened in nurseries in 2013 but shock and outrage online is growing with some asking how many more cases have gone unreported.
