ed here is the more ominous tropical cyclone. you can see the two paths going forward over the next 48 to 72 hours. i'm going to start to focus on tropical cyclone marsha only because this is a densely populated area and it has the potential to impact brisbane with heavy rain and strong winds going forward.

tropical cyclone. it's been downgraded to a category 2 with winds around 100 miles an hour but these are cities and townships that haven't really experienced cyclones in the past. the properties the homes, the businesses they're not built to with stand weather events like this one. so as this system continues to move south down through the state of queensland it is bringing with it strong winds and an enormous amount of rain. in some of these areas that don't usually get cyclones authorities saying that appropriate appropriate tropical cyclone will remain a cyclone into the early hours. then it will become a significant rain depression and flooding is expected as far as south as the city of brisbane into the weekend.
