7:04 pm
because of his connection to friends and rel tchbs in that area. one person they questioned today is believed to be his girlfriend and the girlfriend according to two sources, told her that daron wint said he was going to turn himself in. but there are flaws in her story, so it's not clear whether she's telling the truth. she lives in brooklyn. >> and you were in brooklyn all day today. what is the scene like? is there a scene at the girlfriend's house? >> no there isn't. and we were there very briefly. but she was questioned at the 69th precinct. she was the one saying he intended to turn himself in. it was unclear whether he travelled by bus to new york city. he a cell phone, he was using his own personal cell phone, he's now ditched that cell phone and appeared to be using one is

they target victims with a lot of money and then use the child as leverage and that's perhaps why the 10-year-old had so many wounds inflicted on them. they demanded money in both cases and then what do you do after you ahave the money, you get rid of the evidence and burn the place down. >> what happens? it's a big holiday weekend? but what happened if they don't get him before? >> everyone who knows this guy should be very afraid. he knows when he gets caught or turns himself, which i would highly recommend he does he's going to jail for the rest of his life most likely so he has nothing to lose at this point and nothing to lose by taking out potentially those who are trying to chase him.

this is a new warning issued in the form of a bulletin. what they're warning about is a hit apparently that has been ordered against law enforcement officials by the bandidos and other biker gang. the gangs are trying to get ahold of grenades mall toff cocktails, c 4 explosives. and it says they're targeting high ranking law enforcement officials and their families with car bombs. this is all in the wake of the shoot out at twin weekpeeks in waco. and this is a popular time for biker gangs to have gatherings. >> i want to know -- you said they're takeing it seriously, but how credible these threats are. and is it just the police
7:26 pm
involved in this particular shoot out or just law enforcement officers? >> that's a good question. and according to this warning, it includes specific mention of city of austin houston, dallas corps christy. and and it's not been corroborated but they want to send it out, because of what happened last week. it does say that bandidos in particular are out for blood simply because they believe their quote on quote brothers were targeted last week. >> good information, evan thank you very much. i want to talk about the biker culture that killed nine. george christy a former hell's

angels with prison consultants. you heard our correspondent there say they're out for blood because they think law enforcement targeted their brothers. what do you think of that? >> i thinkgk that's pure nonsense and made up by the police department to strike fear more into the citizens hearts and stuff and help build that fear tactic up about motorcycles. they use that in court cases so that they can deny bail they can have people arrested. it's a fear tactic. it never happened. >> so nine people killed. there was a shoot out including 170 people -- 170 people were arrested. so a fear tactic to what
7:28 pm
purpose? >> because now it's starting to come out that the tapes in the restaurant in the twin peeks are showing a completely different view of what happened in that restaurant than what happened according to the police department. and they want things on their side. they've arrested 170 some people and all for false arrest. those people were not -- not all 170 of them were not involved in that shoot out. there's a whole different side to this story and the police department's got to cover itself. >> our correspondent spoke to a waitress from twin peeks' here's what she said. >> reporter: do you know why this happened? >> it wasn't over just a parking space. it's been a long issue between

task on his hands when he goes to handle 170 cases. that's 170 potential court appointed lawyers, motorcycle club members don't make a lot of money. that's 170 discovery packages going out to lawyers, grand jury indictments. they need to sort through this and get proper information. i think the public has a right to know. instead of relying on conjecture and rumor. >> so go ahead, george christy. >> well you know these coalition meetings have been going on and that's what was taking place there at the twin peeks since the mid'70s they're attended by attorneys, lobbyists and nobody went there to fight. these meet vgz been going on since the '70s no problem. this was an isolated incident. maybe they needed stronger leadership there.

i don't know what happened. i wasn't there. but i think the information coming from this informant needs to be taken very lightly by law enforcement. in fact the former assistant directser of the fbi discounted that. he said he wouldn't believe what these informants are saying because nobody is going to declare law on law enforcement. the upperesh eshalon wouldn't allow it. >> you don't believe the weapons hidden inside the restaurant? >> well you know texas is a gun culture and out law motorcycle people are a gun culture. so i'm not surprised but are these legal or illegal weapons. these are the things we need to

serial sniper. what do you think? >> i'm not sure what to think. in the beginning, when the windows shootings were happening, i thought there might be someone out there doing all these things. i would hope not and maybe it's just somebody doing copy cat and would hope that they would stop but now that an actual victim has come from this, i don't even know what to zinc you're talking about that and there are also a number of unsolved car windows shot in the area as well. so you're hoping this is not a sniper, correct? >> yeah, i hope that's not the case. >> do you think you were targeted? >> i don't think so personally no. and i know when i talked to the

investigators, they don't think i was personally targeted. they know it was intentional but random at the same time. >> so do you feel safe in a car there? do people feel safe in the town? >> honestly i don't think so. i know for me it's taken a lot even to get back in the vehicle but i'm trying not to let myself -- i'm trying to let myself be stronger than the situation and know that i'm only accountable for my actions and unfortunately, there are people out there that aren't good people and i don't let that hinder me from doing every day things. >> yeah people are scared because you have canceled your annual memorial day triathlawn which is normally in a safe area there. you say you forgive the shooter. tell us why? >> like i said before, i'm only accountable for my actions and i

7:49 pm
evidence comes in. but the only change is the now absence of the false imprisonment charges. that's not based on new evidence. that's based on evidence they had at the time the original charges were announced but they got it wrong. the knife was an illegal knife and the arests was a legal arrest. so now that's been replaced with charges of reckless endangerment endangerment. >> do you think this is going to help or hurt her critics? >> i don't think it's going to help anymore than it has from the beginning. you would think of all the people to know whether this was a legal arrest it would be the state's prosecutor. maybe they know on a state level the knife was legal.
7:50 pm
and there had to be some basis to do what they did otherwise, why do all of that if you don't have a legal basis to arrest somebody? >> i think argument is going to be -- freddy gray was arrested before they knew he had the knife, thus making the arrest illegal. >> that was made by the state's attorney's office in the opposition of the motion to recuse that the state's attorney's office filed this week. and they say, no it was still unlawful because they didn't know he had a knife at the time he was placed under arrest. but that statement ignores well established law in the united states. the terry case says all an officers to the have in order to stop someone and detain them is reasonable suspicion. and you can have someone in handcuffs, it's detention and to

7:52 pm
just mentioned, they had good reason to stop him and they find out later on he has a knife and then you have a prosecutor that says they're all a bunch of racist storm troopers. any police officer put aunder that sort of microscope is going to be reluctant to do their job because you think she see rr going to come after he next. >> a lot of people are still asking that mosby recuse herself in favor of an independent prosecutor. when i spoke to her three weeks ago, during her initial announcement, heres what she had to say. >> it makes no sense for a special prosecutor to bring in who are they accountable to? i'm accountable to the people who elected me. and at the end of the day what is this aabout? it's about justice and applying
