>> i think we can say with a high tell gree of certainty. >> david, we've been talking about this small serial number missing from the degrbris that s found. not zur prizing it's been 500 some days, the currents in the indian ocean. >> it's very surprising, actually. but, remember, there's seven different models in this air kraft. the model that we saw isn't necessarily the same one as this one. >> okay. let's get some of the twitter questions in here.
7:24 pm
we had been talking about the reaction. gomez. >> can satellite readings be wrong? >> the data isn't wrong. we've been over this so many times. and the group richard was just talking to, i'm proud, mooigs. they're not going to pin point the location but they're in the right search area. >> so if this piece of debris, any theories about what happened? that could be debungt here? >> there's lots of theories that we could now get rid of. most of them should never have been on the table in the first place. we can get rid of all of those theorem ris about diegogarcia.
7:25 pm
realistically, common sense will tell us that the northern corridor can be gotten rid of. so jeff wiseik's theory falls apart. a hanger getting ready to be used in the future. we can land on the jungle or beaches or anything like that. >> if you listen to families today, think're holding onto hope that their loved ones are alive. >> and who am i to deny them that hope? >> can you tell us how the plane went down?
7:26 pm
is there nick that will help determine what happened? >> it's interesting richard allude today this. nothing is bent or damaged on that end. a lot of people would suggest that this is fluttering in the airstream. and, as it fluttered, it caused a fatigue type of failure on the trailing edge.
7:27 pm
so that's really interesting if you know that. >> if that piece of debris is from mh 46360. up nektsz, i want to get answers and answer mr of your questions.

but the university of western australia is quite adamant that they've got a very sophisticated, complex modelling occurrence in the indian ocean. and they're currently backtracking on the currents over the last 500 something days. we discussed this on your show. >> okay, let's dig in a little bit deeper. someone on twitter says area changed on the search area around the island. will it be the new search area? and you say it doesn't change anything? >> you're looking for the plan.
7:34 pm
the search area where it's the m.r. sat data. they have to plug a lot more than just this in it. it may help a little bit, but, 500 days, in modelling like that, with all the factors, you have to have every weather factor in the last 5 hundays. what you will get, if you're right around the seventh arc, you'll validated, in a way. >> you've got to be careful. you're not automatically evaluating your own data.

7:36 pm
in this area, 24/7. so they do have a very complex modelling. they're pretty confident that they're going to bring this out of soet. they predicted this would turn up at the reunion island. at about this time, when we spoke a couple of days ago, they said well e well, we told you so. and they were right. >> a long shot, but what species are the goose barnacles, if they were a deep water species, that would have interest iing. >> they do have a stage that will attach to flotsum and jet spl du.
