good morning to you. >> we want to get straight to this breaking news, three palestinians have been killed in three separate incidents now. israeli authorities saying one tried the stab a jewish civilian. who others, they say, tried to stab border police in jerusalem and headlines in the west bank t. video you are looking at here is from that scene and, obviously, all attackers were killed. we want to go live to cnn international correspondent phil black in hebron where two of today's attacks took place. phil, what are you learning at this hour? >> reporter: christy, we are in hebron, a palestinian town, a small jewish settlement here. so jews and palestinians living in a frequent site of violence and clashes, but what we've seen here today has been the repeat of the recent cycle of violence that has been happening here. we had attempted knife attacks

against israeli jews. that has been met with legal force. street clashes is what issic taking place here. we will zoom into the israeli force position there you see them firing tear gas up the road towards palestinians lobbing rocks in their direction. it's a relatively tense scene. what's making this more tense and certainly from the point of view of the israeli soldiers here the recent attacks specifically, specifically one yesterday where a palestinian who was said to be dressed as a quest photographer lunged at and tried to stab one of the soldiers on the west bank yesterday. what that means an these soldiers have told us, is they are nervous around journalists like us a few moments ago, one

walked to a fairly close distance and lobbed a grenade with press markings all over, it's a sign of nervousness towards the press, towards the media. but it is an extension of the violence we have been seeing here. specifically in hebron this morning, there was a palestinian man shot by a jewish settleer, says, according to israeli forces he was lunged at but the palestinian man tried to stab him and in another incident at a police station or base, a woman is said to have lunged at a knife at a police woman there, she was also shot, christy. >> phil black, you see you there, we appreciate you take good care of your crew there. let's talk to a former official with the state department. thank you for being with us. i want to get to what phil was talking about there, these knife

attacks, some seem to be lone wolf attack, how capable is israeli of dealing with these so-called lone wolves and is that what they are? >> well, it's not entirely clear, it may have started that way, but certainly the hamas militants are encouraging as many political supporters as they can to engage in similar attacks. this is being called the intfatah of jooiv knive, it's creating lot of tension as the last report suggested. there is likely going to be more violence, certainly, israeli is capable of dealing with it. one. that is capable. israeli has a palestinian population. they don't know who may par at this time pace in these attacks. you saw president obama urging both sides to calm their supporters down the administration is really hoping that this situation resolves itself. the u.s. cannot afford another

crisis in the middle east, especially in syria, iraq and turkey are beginning to boil over, but we will see what happens. i expect there will be more violence before this is resolved. >> we knowing is john kerry is set to meet with benjamin netanyahu and spoke with king abdullah of jordan, let's listen to aaron david miller, he's with the woodrow international center about u.s. attempts to mediate this crisis. >> the leadership required to take the risks on israeli and palestinian side isn't there the ownership required to invest israelis and palestinians isn't there frankly, i'm not sure we have the will and skill in washington to steve as affected brokers in media. >> do you agree with that? does washington, president obama, secretary kerry have what it takes to revive the peace

his fellow students about this gunman, he is sharing his story. this is through a facebook post. it describes how this normal day in class descended into chaos and in the moment he came face-to-face with the funman, nick valencia is following this story with relearning new details. >> good morning, it's a stunning account of the u.s. army who many credit with helping stop that ucc oregon gunman, for the first time speaking in his own words, giving his account of what happened that day, it's slightly different from what we have been hearing. he starts out with a post saying it started out as a normal day. he joked he thought he was going to skip class. he was talked out of it. he was in class joking around with his teacher. that's when he heard the gunfire, he starts saying gunshots sound like fire crackers going off a counsellor kept screaming, that someone

needed to tell the people in the library and told her i'd do it. he leaned half of his torso out and started shooting as i turned towards him. he was so nonchalant as if he was playing a videogame and showed no emotion. it was a very lengthy post. we are showing you parts of this we will have a more lengthy report next hour. he talked about how this was not about politics or publicity. he apologized saying if this post affects anyone negatively or the victims oafter this shooting, he apologized for. that he says he was shot five times, once in the leg, right leg, left leg, abdomen the top of the shoulder, almost came close to his heart and his left finger. he says the lingering question is why he was not shot again. >> it's a miracle he survived. we will look forward to more details next hour. >> thank you so much. >> thank you, nick. all right. an ugly twitter fight between donald trump and jeb bush.

at least what has been agreed upon at this point does it open the door for a broader or more expansive conversation on other issues? >> you know that is what a russian general today said. he said, we hope, you know, it's a good document. we hope this will open the door to more discussions about a political settlement. but the united states is saying, wooer not going to join any type of negotiations because we think that your strategy as president obama said, bombing your way to a pieceful solution is not going to work t. americans don't want to look as if they are on the side of the russians bombing in behalf of president assad of syria. so until there is some type of you know that they can solve that, it doesn't mean anything

towards a political solution. >> joe, we appreciate it so much. thank you. >> all right for more analysis, let's bring in a former state official. let's join off with the potential for a political solution. the president said there is no military solution here. is there any indication that russia is interested in having that conversation about a political solution? >> well, i think russia's differences are different. the u.s. and europe muddled without a clear policy on syria. from contrast, russia has a very clear policy and objective. they are trying to prop up the say aude regime and help them win. they are making significant progress on the ground, which is really changing the balance of power if syria. ultimately, russia is not going to be successful in helping assad take back the entire country. the majority of the country does

not support assad and never will. and so in some ways, all russia is doing is helping assad gain some additional territory, campaign some additional power, changing the balance of power in syria. but it's not going to be a iraq for syria. the only way there will be a political resolution in syria is if russia changes its view a little bit and takes the position that it's going to help assads to step down. get the regime to compromise with the opposition and come up with a unified government. we've seen no progress on that yet. >> how long is russia in this fight? the "new york times" is reporting they're bringing in large vocations, singers and dancers to entertain the troops who were there and will likely be there soon? >> well, you know, russia took everybody by surprise when they moved into syria. but it appears now that this was well thought out and planned for

. we got new details of a fatal beating of a 19-year-old inside a church where the parents worship. >> the boy's parents are to blame and they were a part of a beating session? >> reporter: the case surrounding what happened inside this church behind me now will be heading to the grand jury. police call eight savage beating. although the motive is still somewhat unclear.

bruce and debra leonard did not testify today. instead, they sat and listened to damaging testimony about what allegedly happened in that church counseling sex. in the end, their 19-year-old son lucas was dead, their son christopher left in serious condition. daniel irwin, a deacon at the word of life christian church told the court he so you bruce leonard strike both of the boys. he said leonard hit his son lucas several time. i heard the sound of a strike. stop, then it started again. irwin also told the court, he saw lucas was bleeding from his leg, moteing, rolling back and forth on the floor. irwin said he also saw leonard strike his younger son christopher five or six times, something that looked like a belt. he recalled the beating went on for 14 hours, starting around 8:00 sunday night, lasting until 10:00 a.m. the next morning. when asked why the beating

finally stopped? irwin said because luke was dead at that point. he said several church members, including leonard's own brother, christopher, and his father tried performing cpr, it was too late. >> would you loo tobacco elaborate a little more about what happened inside and tell us about your experience? >> oh, no. >> reporter: outside court irwin would not comment about his motive or allegations the counseling session was ordered because leonard wanted to leave the church? but the leonards are facing manslaughter charges in the death of their son, four others, including the boy's step sister are facing assault charges, all have pled not guilty. police say they have not concluded why the session turned violent. bruce leonard allegedly told investigators his sons may have molested children who long to the church. police say there is no indication of that whatsoever. they say seven children here from the church were taken into protective custody, they were

interviewed, examined, police say there is no indication any of them were sexually assaulted. >> the deceased and his brother are victims in this horrible crime and i want to put out there again there is no evidence that these brothers did anything. they are at this point true victims. >> debra leonard's attorney believes his client is also a victim, saying deborah did not have the physical strength to beat her sons, debra leonard claims she only took part in the beginning, but that other church members held the brothers down while the beatings took place. >> i have indicated before and will continue to indicate, we are looking at other charges and if other people should be chargeled, we shall present that to a grand jury. >> reporter: the da has 45 days from now to present its case to the grand jury. as you heard there, by the time the da does that, expects more charges, more possible arrests. victor, christy.

there is a distinction between the two. usually what happens is the law provides for a hierarchy for people to make medical decisions net event you cannot make them for yourself. so therefore his wife, still his wife, even though they were undergoing divorce proceedings, to the extent they're not finalized, of course, she then would have decision making authority. it provides a hierarchy in general the wife, in the event you don't sister a wife, it goes to adult children if any and parents and adult sibling, so he is up. let's hope that he's okay. let's pray he's confident and able. if he's not confident, although, he's awake, she would still call the shots. >> i want to ask you about this brothel. we understand workers say lamar was using cocaine the brothel might be lee. we know cocaine is not. do you see anything in this whole picture regarding this

brothel that would make them liable in anyway for something? >> you know, still early to tell, of course, because there will be an investigation. we know that nevada has laws concerning things that go on. to that extent, it's fine. then it comes down to a question of are they in anyway negligent or irresponsible? did they enable him in anyway? did they assist him in anyway? there is a difference between providing for someone's entertainment an enjoyment and providing something in excess where they knew or should have known that something could go amiss. so i think, christy, this will be looked at in two ways, certainly from a civil perspective and also from a criminal perspective in terms of whether they did anything wrong or illegal as offensive af begins those laws, to be clear, we don't know yet, it's still early, you better believe based upon the nature of this case, many eyeballs will be watching to find out the facts. >> eia, no doubt.

flash floods people are concerned about in california. >> let's check in with allison, is there more on the way? or do they have to clean up what already came down? >> both. it depends on where you are talking about. some areas, it's the clean-up process, for others, it's kind of keeping watch as more rain begins to move back if. this is the last three days. you can see a lot of areas are two to four inches. overall, a couple weeks ago, we had the south carolina flooding. these numbers in and of themselves are not that high. however, keep in mind, the valley north of the santa clarita area, you see right here, 3.83 inches in one hour. >> that officially makes that area a one in 1,000 flood event. similar to what we have in south carolina, obviously the numbers were a little different. here as we continue to push a little farther, you notice we have the flood threat in effect, california, nevada, and southern utah, where we expect more of that rain to begin to push back if. the totals again still fought as

sais cases the palestinians wielding knives were shot and killed. the shooting of those palestinians is what triggers this wider violence the clashes you see going on behind us just here. so there is what's been hang here for two weeks now. ever since this strange new surge of violence, which has involved palestinians off and on with knives and cutting implements randomly attacking jews and israels on the streets. it's largely in israel, east jerusalem. we are seeing these attacks triggering these broader street violence we are seeing taking place here behind us now. the result of this two week surge in violence according to israeli government is seven dead, effectively knifed down in the streets this way. palestinian officials say some 30 palestinians have been killed in the often lethal response to those knifeing attacks, christy. >> i think what is so striking,

jump in or not. my sense is if they are going to pate, they will wait until after hillary clinton does the testimony at the benghazi committee to see how that goes. there are various high level speeches to democratic groups at the end of okay as well. so i think they are really looking to physical out whether the vice president wants to do this or not t. letter sent out was something smart to tell those who were getting worried in terms of timing that there is still time but the fact of the matter is at the end of this month, a lot of the windows close. at the end of the day, the only person that can make this is joe biden. i'm hearing people close to him say he hasn't decided yet. he's having all the right moves, in order to be ready. but we don't know if that will happen or not.

he wrote a big check to the clinton foundation, we know that chelsea clinton is good friends with his daughter. it's an interesting dynamic. i am struck to see hillary clinton criticizing her friend donald trump a little bit. i know she has to do it for political reasons. with respect to donald trump blaming problem. i think a lot of voters will not give him the benefit of the doubt or not that will hurt him with voters. >> the last fragment of your sentence is he is not going to get a pass. it could applied with john mccain and megyn kelly. to many of the ought things he's said. he's been number one at the top of the polls for three months now. jeb bush has been trying to get a grasp. why is that happening? >> sure. well, look. you got ten candidates running. a poll of ten candidates in it.

and donald trump has gotten 29%. seven out of ten republicans do not support donald trump. most of the overwhelming majority don't support donald trump. in a field of ten or 11 or 15 candidates, he's number one. we saw him with scott walker, leading the polls, he is now out of the race. donald trump should be careful, the same fate could happen to him just as it happened to scott walker. >> are democrats preparing for a general election against donald trump, does it seem more likely now that this is not just the summer of trump? this is trump's cycle? >> it definitely seems more likely, victor, i know that republican strategists are just completely keeping themselves up with this thought. there has never been a candidate at the lead for so long with numbers that are so deep that have not gotten the nomination. >> that it doesn't mean that he

will. but i really think that republican strategists need as to guard themselves for the real possibility that donald trump will be their nominee. just in this right the majority of republican voters right now don't support donald trump. but that also means that even more republican voters don't support jeb bush, don't support marco rubio, you mentioned they are in the single digits. so what can we imagine donald trump saying or doing that he hasn't done or said up until now that would actually bring him down in the eyes of republican voters? hillary clinton has been the only one the adult in the room and has taken him to task for things utterly offensive to voters. republicans squirm, but that's the truth. >> it was quite interesting to see him walk away from mj lee who asked him twice about hit comments, he went to twitter. we will talk more about that.

stop and ended in the fatal shooting of a michigan teen. now the family has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit saying their son should never have been pulled over in the first place. jean casarez has more on the incident which was partially captured on camera. >> license and registration with insurance, police. >> reporter: watch this police body camera video 17-year-old defini devin on his way to his girlfriend's house. pulling him over for flashing his high beams. >> driver's license, registration, proof of insurance, please. >> i don't even know you're an officer. >> reporter: sergeant asked seven times for his license and every time the teen refuses. questioning why he was stopped. >> am i being detained? >> yes, you are. >> for what crime? >> you flashed me with your high

beams. >> you had your brights on, sir. >> reporter: he begins recording their intersection on his cellphone and continues to not cooperate. >> you can get with with the program and start to comply or you'll be taken to jail. >> reporter: the officer called for backup. two times. as the situation escalates, backup doesn't come. >> you do not have your driver eye lee accep license? >> yes, i do. >> if you had complied, if would have gone a different way. >> reporter: the officer orders him out of the car. >> out of the car or you'll be tased. everything is being recorded so i got the no problem with it. down on the ground now. >> oh, my gosh. stop yelling at me. >> down on the ground. right here facing me. down on the ground now. >> what do you mean? >> get on your belly right now. put your phone down and put your arms out to your side now.

>> reporter: sergeant frost kicks gilford's cellphone away. >> i don't have a weapon. >> get your hands behind your back. >> reporter: just about 90 seconds before backup arrives, sergeant frost tases gilford, but he's too close for it to work properly. roughly 14 seconds later, you hear gunshots. sergeant frost says gilford hit him repeatedly with his fist. take a look at this slo-mo frame by frame. you can make the scuffle out just a little more clearly. >> priority backup. i'm bleeding. >> reporter: this body cam video captures sergeant frost at the scene transported to the hospital with these injuries. >> small abrasion to the back of the head. >> reporter: gilfor dd's family

says the traffic stop was illegal. >> they are outraged. it boggles their minds how the kid could be stopped for flashing his lights and be dead five minutes later. >> reporter: but prosecutors cite the michigan safe driving manual which states it is illegal to use or even flash high beam headlights within 500 feet of and oncoming vehicle. the officer cleared of all wrongdoing. the prosecutor concluding that frost was acting in self-defense, that he reasonably believed that he would die or have serious bodily injury. among the cited evidence, damage to the body camera. it was in pieces around the area. and the medical examiner's findings that gilford's wounds were from the front indicating a struggle. the family now filing a federal and civil lawsuit alleging the officer used excessive force, violated their son's constitutional rights and wrongfully you caused his death. >> thank you so much.

>> oh, my gosh, this car's going hit us. oh, my gosh! >> a woman is trapped in her car when a mud slide hit. but she managed to take amazing video of the scary ordeal. >> this is cnn breaking news. >> we're always so grateful for company. we start with breaking news out of the middle east. the rash of knife attacks and the growing tensions extending into the weekend now. three more palestinians have been shot and killed in separate incidents in jerusalem and west bank city of hebron. >> they went after police officers with knives and a jewish settler. phil black is hebron where two attacks happened. and i know you're looking over your shoulder. what is happening there now?

>> reporter: we'll show you straight away. so are where we are is hebron, a jewish settler community of some 7,000 people inside. what we're seeing down toward the barricades is children really, teenagers perhaps at the oldest, pretty regularly hurling rocks, projectiles, in toward israeli soldiers just around the corner there. you can't see them from where we are standing here. it's a little calmer now. it was more violent through the morning. but all of this is a response to the same circle of violence we've been seeing repeated here. these people are the on street today because of two knife attacks that took place in hebron earlier. palestinians wielding knives who tried to attack and presumably tried to kill jewish settlers.

and in both cases, the palestinians were shot and killed. and the response is street violence. the last two weeks, that was when this strange new phenomenon of knife attacks, street attacks by young palestinians, teenagers sometimes young men, attacking israelis on the streets with knives and cutting implements. and the human cost of that has been pretty high in the sense that accept israelis have been killed since the start of october as a result of the attacks. palestinians say as many as 30 more have been killed in the israeli responses to those attacks. what all this shows is that these knife attacks are continuing. that's what we're seeing here in gentleman reese ljerusalem here today. >> phil, thank you so much.

let's talk about the 2016 presidential race now intensifying. some twitter feuds specifically between donald trump and jeb bush. after the republican frontrunner took shots at george w. bush's record on 9/11. here's what he said to bloomberg. >> when you talk about george bush, say what you want, the world trade center came down during his time. if you -- >> hold on, you can't blame bush for that. >> he was president, okay? don't blame him or don't blame him, but he was president. the world trade center came down during his reign. >> so jeb bush fired back tweeting, quote, how pathetic for donald trump to criticize the president for 9/11. we were attacked and my brother kept us safe. and it didn't end there particular ply after cnn asked trump about his comments. i don't think i've ever seen donald trump walk away from a microphone. sf >> that was one of the biggest surprises last night.

you're right, the story doesn't end there because after a campaign rally last night, m. sj. lee asked trump if he thought george b. wubush was responsibl for the 9/11 attacks. >> mr. trump, can you clarify, do you think that 9/11 was president bush's fault? you said on twitter that your comments about 9/11 -- >> so shockingly quiet trump there. he regularly takes questions from reporters. so it was kind of unusual a little weird to see him walk away without saying anything at all. but he wasn't done. a few minutes later, he took to twitter instead. his first tweet, at the debate, you said your brother kept us safe. i wanted to be nice and i did not mention the world trade center came down during his watch 9/11. then he tweeted, got a little

testier, said, no, jeb bush, you're pathetic for staying nothing happened during your brother's term when the world trade center was attacked and came down. you know, that last tweet had a kind of i know you are, but a real tit for tat back and forth here. also worth noting that bush said he had no idea what kind of leader trump would be because trump is always too busy talking about himself and not how he would leave the country. so another thing to remember here, this is a twitter feud that has been going on between trump and bush for months now. trump has hit bush on immigration, retweeted messages calls bush crazy, calling on him to stop speaking mexican. of course bush speaks spanish. so this is just the latest chapter in this long running feud and we'll see if there is another response today from skreb or if he's done. but trump really picked a sweet spot there on picking on george w. bush who jeb has always been pretty quick to defend. >> jeb and a lot of republicans

to have three hour debate. i also think it's a smart move from donald trump because the longer he's on stage, the bigger the chance of a screw up. and for somebody to attack and come after him, same with ben carson, if you're leading, you want to limit your risk. and two hours, that many people, that's enough time on stage. remember the last debate, he didn't speak at one point for over 30 minutes. so he realized i don't want that to be another talking point. i want two hours. i don't blame him. >> with what we heard from one of the officials for the republican party, i have the note here from sean spicer, spokesman for the rnc, all debates include back chapel conversations between the rnc, campaigns and networks. this was no different. however, it is quite different because this isn't a back chapel conversation. this happened quite publicly and as trump said, he won. >> yeah, you know, when he wrote

the deal, one thing he said as an element of the deal is use your leverage. well, he's ahead in the polls. ben carson is right behind him. and so we heard him here, he called ben carson, they got together. without the two of them, this debate would not be much of a debate. and it probably wouldn't be much of an audience for it. so he did use his leverage here and he is very skillful with it. two hours is plenty. i took a look at the very first presidential debate and i think it was an hour. so two hours is plenty in this day and age and donald trump is also a pretty good master of television. he knows his audience. >> you're a trump supporter. let me ask you about these comments he made about 9/11 and then president george w. bush. he said that -- he pointed out that it happened on his watch. jeb bush then tweeted out calling donald trump pathetic. is it fair game to mention and to discuss the george w. bush

was in the white house when 9/11 happened? >> sure. i don't really think there is anything remarkable about this. anything that happens on any president's watch gets debated for centuries. there are people still out there debating pearl harbor and franklin roosevelt. when the bay of pigs happened with president kennedy, he held a press conference shorts thely there after, it was a disaster and he said i'm the responsible officer of the government. that's just basically true. >> but the did difference, though, is this. the bay of pigs is something that we planned. 9/11 was something that terrorists planned. let's be real clear about that. to imply that george bush somehow is responsible for the terrorist attacks that started planning years before -- let me make this clear -- years before it ever happened. the planning and training happened even when bill clinton was this office. and to imply that that happened and somehow is the fault of george bush i think is one of the most shallow blows by donald trump so far. i think it's completely on you out of bounds.

and you know that, even that would have been in office on that day, 9/11 would still have happened on that day. they had planned it for years. you can't imply george bush let us down. >> he was the sitting president. that's all we're saying here. >> that's not what donald trump is implying and you know that. let's be honest. >> i haven't seen any evidence that president bush knew this was coming and therefore was neglect neigen negligent. that somehow there was a memo in august and condi rice should have known and they were supposed to understand this, i mean it's just not so. so i think all he's saying here is he's president of the united states, he's the sitting president, you're responsible for what happens on your watch. that's just a fact. >> let me ask you this. why then walk away from m.j. lee when she asked him to clarify twice? he heard the question. he made eye contact. and then he walked away. >> probably just wanted to leave

part lavrov have continued to meet. on iran, you had russia as an integral part of the negotiating team sitting opposite of iran and president obama when a very effective iran deal was reached made the point that america and russia managed to work constructively. so esyria, of course, they are taking opposite sides in many respects on the syria conflict. i think at the moment we are still looking at arrangements being made for what is called -- in other words, to make sure that we're both operating within air space, russian and american aircraft and the coalition on the american side that there won't be accidental clashes. beyond that, the question of course is can america and russia

now have a serious and results-oriented political dialogue on syria. we're not there yet is my assessment. i think both sides are kind of looking at that option and asking, you know, is there a real possibility for some political progress, about bbut not there yet. >> what about russia's motives in syria. a lot of people are skeptical. is this about as it has been suggested by some expanding the russian empire, do they want territory here? >> well, i think it's hard to make a credible claim that contemporary russia is really an imperial power. certainly seeing who has happened in ukraine, certainly the russia leadership thinks in terms of spheres of influence.

but i do not think that is unique to russia. i think russia looks at the ability to have a foothold in the middle east in terms of its interests, in terms of what that might give it in negotiating power with different states in terms of what that might do for possible energy routes and exports to european and other markets. but when you think about qwhat are russia's motivations, things are often complex. so i think there is probably more motivation in play when it comes to russia's position in syria, when it comes to america's position in syria. and i think the starting point should not necessarily be where do we go with with the motivation question, but what can we actually do. where do american and russia interests converge. and they do converge. neither side wants isis and other extremists violent groups to be successful.

new details in the fatal beating of a 19-year-old inside the church where his family worships in upstate new york. >> and the boy's parents are now charged with manslaughter. authorities say the beatings were part of a counseling session. cnn's jason carroll has the lat he is. >> reporter: the case surrounding what happened inside this church behind me now will be heading to the grand jury. police call it a savage beating although the motive for the beating still somewhat unclear. bruce and debra leonard did that testify during the hearing today. instead, they sat and listened to damaging testimony about what alledgedly happened in that church counseling session. in the end, their 19-year-old son lucas was dead. their 17-year-old son christopher left in serious

condition. daniel irwin, a deacon at the word of life christian church, told the court he saw bruce leonard strike both of the boys inside the church's sanctuary. he said leonard hit his son lucas several times. i heard the sound of a strike. stop. then it started again. irwin also told the court he saw lucas was bleeding from his leg, moaning and rolling back and forth on the floor. irwin also saw leonard strike his uniyounger son five or six times with something that looked like a belt. he recalled the beating went on for 14 hours starting around 8:00 sunday night and lasting until 10:00 a.m. the next morning. when asked why the beating finally stopped, irwin said because luke was dead at that point. he said several church members including leonard's own brother christopher and his father tried performing cpr but it was too late. >> would you like to elaborate a little bit more about what

happened? >> i have no comment. >> reporter: outside court, irwin would not comment about his testimony. nothing about the motive for the beating. nor about allegations that the counseling session was ordered because leonard wanted to leave the church. the leonards are facing manslaughter charges ghdeath of their son. four others for assault charges. bruce leonard allegedly told investigators his sons may have molested children who belong to the church. but police say there is no indication of that whatsoever. they say seven children here from the church were taken into protective custody. they were interviewed, examined, and police say there is no indication any of them were sexually assaulted. >> the deceased and his brother are victims in this horrible crime and i want to put out there again there is no evidence that these brothers did anything. they are at this point true
