>> that's where we are. 25 days out and just before we start the conversation, i want to put up a brand new fox news national poll, race for president. clinton 45, trump 38, johnson 7. plus 7 in the national poll. one week ago, plus 2 hillary clinton. clearly we see what's happening to the race, lisa lear, jump in. women a majority in the electorate. 53%, we expect 53% in 2012 and tleefrt that and look at this among female likely vote igs. clinton 51, trump 32. 19 point difference. anywhere close to that on election day, hillary clinton is the next president of the united states. >> look, we always knew gender would be part of this race if hk won the nomination, first female president, always in the mix. the fact this race has become a war of the sex is is remarkable. like, we are having a national referendum on women's role and sense from men that perhaps fears of being displaced, and frankly, trump is hemorrhaging

women. particularly white, college educated women. that's a problem for him. romney won white women. if he loses them, it's hard to see how he wins this race. particularly in those crucial suburban pockets. suburbs of columbus, denver, philly. a big problem. not clear how you stop the bleeding at this point. >> and not exactly that he wants to. he has embraced an idea of being the alpha male. had these problems come out with all of these women. five or six or seven or ten of them come out and accuse him, and he is -- it's not clear that he's able to deal with it at this point. seems like he goes through these rallies, sees these crowds and some women are in those crowds, too, but there is this kind of alpha male posing he's doing that is resonating with a lot of these voters, particularly working-class white men. >> ten women in the la72 hours t names on allegations. not anonymous women saying

donald trump did this to me. they've had the courage to put their names in the public domain and say this. donald trump says they're all lying, and he says he will prove this, although we're waiting. meantime, jonathan, ais his argument, this is media and hillary clinton conspiracy. threaten them, this is what they do to you. i don't remember us if there is such a conspiracy, if you go to breitbart you'll find it. in the real world, i don't think so. i don't remember us doing this to john mccain or anyone saying mitt romney was a predator? >> not just that, but i will say this about the timing of this. he's in women have come out because trump just said in a -- highly watched national debate that he had never done the things to women that he talked about in that videotape with, billy bush, that came out last week. they were responding to that and outraged, because he had done those things to them, they said, and keep in mind, our friend adviser at "the boston globe"

advances. and, by the way, the area was a public area. people all over the place. take a look. you take a look. look at her. look at her words. you tell me what you think. i don't think so. i don't think so. >> i suspect the ladies will have a stronger take than you or i might have. trying to put this away, i don't think that's the way to do it. >> it's not. >> it really isn't. that's also a substory of this whole campaign. he manages to keep things in the headlines. pour s fuel on the fire as ofte as to douse it. the result, "people," editor-in-chief wrote a second piece saying this is why we ran it. we stand by it. she was brave to do this. a whole other cycle of this. talking about polls earlier. an interesting poll that came out earlier in the week asking trump voters, asking couples, married couples and husbands, say overestimated the -- the degree to which their wives were also supporting donald trump.

you had a gap. husbands saying 45 fr%. 35% of wives. might not be a surprise. >> after the election a lot of interesting t ing thanksgiving dinners. >> and trump made the argument, hillary and bill clinton were diskrez itting bill clinton's accusers and now doing this with donald trump accusers. political whiplash. doesn't comport what they said before. accusers were to be believed and the other problem is that, sadly, i'm sure, i suspect neil would agree on groping, it's a common female experience. so this is something that people can relate to. women can relate to. a lot of women have had these experiences, on public transit in the workplace, wherever. >> we're going to get to more of that. the power of the first lady yesterday. i don't care whether you're a democrat, republican, a martian

"apologies are like her achilles' heel, but didn't seem like a -- word rhymes with witch -- and said she's sorry and get to a full apology in a few interviews." >> as reporters here, there is something val daidating these e-mails and the colin powell batch a few weeks ago. it reflects what we've all been writing about. it's real. okay. so condi and colin powell didn't like rumsfeld and -- got it.

constituencies to get elected. that's the reveal. right? >> not any real bombshells. speech transcripts interesting. the question, what's coming? not a lot of e-mails from hillary clinton herself. you have to wonder. i don't know how savvy wikileaks is about the political system. if e are, maybe a batch they hold off until towards the end. >> exposes her as more of a sen trifrt th a sen trifr centrist. >> you see this going back and forth in the campaign. she does have an honesty and trust issue. in the campaign with legitimate and real problems. brian fallon, chief spokesman going to john podesta during the e-mail. what's in the e-mails? classified material. not think it fine to find something should have been classified at the time. our position no such material exists else it could be said she mishandled classified

information. you can read that knowing, a., some information marked with a c. big debate whether she understood that or not. and retroactively classified. read that as i don't care the truth. until through this tunnel saying she did not mishandle classified information. nothing more classified. >> a plausible reading of that. one of the problems with the e-mails beyond the fact hard to authenticate. the clinton campaign decided not to confirm or deny. some of the threads cut short. back and forths you'd likes to see two more before and maybe two after. it's not clear what they're saying. >> context would help. >> right. there is a major context problem and one of the great things about the apology, at mpr, drafted a script what would have been a short less than ten-mi ten-minute video to try to address this. never happened. the e-mail i want to see, they clearly decide not to can do if and why. >> never mind. >> donald trump has tried to use these issues to his advantage

25 days out from when we fill in this red and blue and this map blocking bleak at the moment for donald trump. first national numbers. brand new fox news poll talked about it a bit at the top of the show. 10 points for third party candidates, seven point nationally for hillary clinton. two points a week ago. hillary clinton moving there. look at battleground state polls. a few of them. north carolina, wisconsin, new hampshire, clinton leading. trump in the latest poll in ohio plus one. other poms show that race a tie or clinton up one. that's donald trump defendant state. state of ohio. what's driving this? take a closer look at this fox news data here. all of this controversy about forcing himself on women is driving this. among women, 45 and older, donald trump down 12 points. among, changes since last week, down 12 points since last week. suburban women, down 10 points. white women with college degrees

other republican candidate. trump's own words, and i think also the democrats speaking out on the campaign trail essentially saying you can't afford to have a protest vote or walk away. doing poorly in the suburbs, game over. >> apparently pulling out of virginia. i mean, this -- he was already flailing even before these tapes were released, but now you have somebody like michelle obama. right? rallying women in that speech. essentially i think crafting hillary clinton as this paragon of the women's movement? right? empowering a figure for a lot of women who didn't see her that way. she was able to connect with women in a way hillary clinton wasn't able to and these tapes. all women that have experienced these kinds of things, a collective experience women have gone through in viewing donald trump. >> listen to the first lady, and continue the conversation. again, sometimes we make politics complicated.

the hillary camp is locking in gains now. >> you can bet in their data, people are for her but soft, who might go back to republicans are trying to grab them by the ear. >> and barack obama's visit to ohio. >> the question, what do trump supporters say? we played governor pence top of the show. allegations refute is forthcoming. and donald trump words in his own words saying this is what he does on the "access hollywood" tape. says he never did it but his voice saying he would do those things and newt gingrich said i have no reaction to 30-year-old gossip. when is have hillary clinton promising to open american borders to 600 million people. the clinton campaign disputes 600 million part, to the first part. to the first part, you know, and republican party in a demographic ditch to begin with with non-white voters. i have no reaction to 30-year-old gossip. these are ten women who have had courage to put their names. evidence to refute them, mr. trump, send it on in.

ten women who had the courage to put their names to this. what do you do to the -- never mind the election in 25 days. what do you do to the lasting republican party if that's how you describe it? >> a lot of worried about that. talking to female republican strategists and think donald trump set them back. made them look like the party of older white guys who are not in touch with today's reality, which is two income families. a lot of families headed by female bread winners, and that will hurt them. worried about with women going forward. not sure how you regain, make those gains back. >> amend also for donald trump, also undermines an idea she a change agent. right? he's on this tape sounding like a cave man, like someone from the 1950s. sounding very sort of using his power. >> sort of like b.c.? >> yeah, yeah. >> the '50s? >> using hi power and sort of insider star status to gain access to women. so i think, you know, that was a point i think michelle obama

made in her speech, too. >> isn't in a central point? and let's point out on the one side, you have michelle obama speaking on behalf of hillary. said you have newt gingrich talking on behalf of donald trump about this issue. there is just a lopsided disadvantage here for donald trump. >> and giuliani. >> and did an interview talking about viciousness and blood politics but is not directly getting involve ared in the debate. important point. a good point about hillary clinton can't say some of the things michelle obama says but did go on "ellen." clear she doesn't want to be as direct as the first lady, she is trying to send a message to women voters here when she says this -- >> he was really all rot up and you could just sense how much anger he had and so he was really trying to dominate and then literally stalk me around the stage, and i would just feel this presence behind me. and, you know, i thought, whoa. this is really weird.

president obama on the road today for hillary clinton in battleground ohio. you heard lisa talk before the break, some democrats think all of this attacking from donald trump is designed to think, aaargh, ugly election. i'm staying home. president obama saying, don't fall for it. >> now, her opponent's made it pretty clear. he's just going to drag this election as low as it can possibly go. and -- and he figures that if he marks our politics just toxic, then maybe you'll just figure out, you got no good choices, just get discouraged and just don't vote. but don't fall for it! because i'm telling you right now, hillary is one of the smartest, toughest,

best-prepared, most experienced persons ever to run for this job. >> it's an interesting moment. the president's out there making the case for hillary clinton. he's a very effective campaigner, as we discussed earlier. the big goal, motivating the right constituencies to get them to vote as early as possible, but an interesting trajectory in the race. democrats suddenly think, okay. we can get the senate. an outside shot at getting the house if this continues and you hear the president now more and more tying republicans to trump. he's done this from the beginning, but why didn't you run? why wait for this? and you write a story in the paper today about republican donors saying, forget about it. not giving trump more mun and pulling off, because they have to go look at their wives and daughters in the face. >> and among the donors and elected officials. how do we keep trump at some level of support to not tank our house and senate candidates, but at the same time, stick close to him are we turning off more voters, too and hurting ourselves in that way? it's sort of a choice here

they're facing. the democrats from president obama, the hillary clinton campaign are aggressively now trying to move this campaign down the ballot. to win more house and senate seats, and no longer are they painting trump as just some mere anomaly who is not part of the sort of culture of the gop. they are now more sort of painting him as somebody who grew out of the culture of the right here in the last few years. yes, playing offense. the house, i think, is still not quite there, but certainly right now out of balance. >> and the poll, seven points, senate about to happen. makes you at least think about the house. problem for speaker paul ryan who has no unendorsed trump but won't campaign or defend him, what he said on the tapes is reprehensible. problem for him a wave in the house, loses moderates. swings go and conservatives mad at him for not being more trump will abandon him.

evangelical and younger evangelicals. younger evangelicals tend to be a little more liberal, but different in issues like same-sex issues. interesting to watch this play out. >> close with this. nervous times for republican senate candidates who decided to yank support of trump because of that recording of him bragging about assaulting women. trump supporters in those states, flooding campaign offices with protest calls sometimes showing up to heck's candidates at rallies. pollsters like to wait several days to test. emotions of the moment settle. nevada a key test. supporter of gop candidate joe heck say so far so good. just completed republican polling heck maintaining a narrow lead in race that could decide which party controls the senate. heck allies say at the moment, little, or no evidence, the anger of trump supporters is hurting heck. though in that race as others, like in ohio, those helping candidates who dump trump remain on edge.
