out. independent about fund-raising and decision making on behalf of the clinton foundation we have dedicated ourselves to helping the president and engage in for profit activities and solicited and obtained in kind services for the president and his family for personal travel, hospitality, vacation and the like. john, if you go through these e-mails, band goes through a whole list of moments where they essentially shaking down corporate donors for the profit of his boss, bill clinton. >> this is shocking. the wikileaks have confirmed what we knew to be the worst in the clintons. it's the question of, look, there's no direct smoking gun but why did a saudi king give a million dollars for bill clinton's birthday for five minutes of his time. it smacks of quid pro quo abuse of power. what did they do when she was secretary of state and what will they do when she is president of the united states. it is putting themselves before

the foundation and the people? >> even -- when you read that e-mail, what do you take away from it? >> i take away that it is clearly borderline unethical behavior. there's nothing illegal about it but unethical and we'd need to change the laws if we want the behavior to change. you are naive to think this hasn't been going on since john adams was president. corruption happens, but it is not illegal. >> corruption happens, we don't want that in our commander in chief. >> clinton inc. to me is bill and hillary, one and the same, machine together. you have to assume hillary knew it as well. >> this is such obvious for donald trump. they talk about bill clinton getting $60 million over the next nine years. as you raise the issue in the white house, what can they expect, donald trump picked up

of donations of to the clinton foundation." . john, you hear that, is that enough for you? >> no. of course, guys. she gave speeches which seems to me like a form of legal bribery. the whole thing stinks. i think if she becomes president, which looks like she is on track to, her administration out of the gate will be riddled with scandal. >> you said that bill clinton needs to step aside, and i wonder if the clinton foundation can survive? can it continue on? >> that's a great question. i have said i think it should be rebranded and the clinton name removed from it. >> bill gates. >> let's create something new and come up with fun new names. >> what about the image of chelsea that emerges from this. she is named in a lot of these e-mails. tell me about your take away. >> she looks like a force for good. internally they called her a spoiled brat and other things

debates where i will tell you the loop running in my head is what michelle says to us during the convention, when they go low we go high. >> are they trying way too hard here? did you buy this? >> no. here's the thing. here's the deal. michelle is incredibly popular. they are smart to trod her out. the fact is michelle's name not the name the ballot booth. they are trying to put lipstick on the pig here. >> this is a classic case of marketing, which is michelle obama is highly popular. she is exceptionally popular in all of the circles hillary needs to mick sure turns up to vote. put her next to hillary clinton and the halo effect happens to hillary. if i'm hillary clinton i want michelle obama with me wherever i go. >> people are showing up to the rallies not for hillary clinton but michelle obama.

trump's people are turning out for trump. >> he has a theater in rally and filled with people. >> good news for hillary clinton is her opponent in this race is donald trump. >> she's lucky for that. >> absolutely. >> he was on fox news and asked if he thought he would be in a better place right now in terms of the polling if the "access hollywood" tape where he was making lewd comments hadn't been released. this is what he said. >> i think it was negative. it was locker room talk. the microphone was not supposed to be on. not that i make that as an excuse for myself but it was an illegal act that was nbc. it was not supposed to be on. >> you think it is illegal putting that tape out? >> oh, absolutely. >> he says he's not sure if things would be better, but come on, he would be in a much better place if that tape hadn't been released. >> he would. i think he as a challenge here. he never shifted from running a primary to general campaign. he never convinced educated

white women to crossover for him. it always became, if it wasn't about the tapes it was the khan family or something else. the tapes may have been the nail in the coffin but still in a demographic hole he could never get out of. >> it was absolutely the final nail in the coffin. i was undecided until the tape came out. i started to talk to no joke hundreds of women who have similar stories of is sexual abuse at the hands of donald trump and we, as men, have to stand up and not allow it to be normalized. that's the final nail in the coffin for donald trump. >> look at the polling. if we look at the map it is tighter. donald trump is doing better in certain states, florida and nevada they are gone from leaning democratic to toss up. in the cnn poll, clinton is leading, ahead 47-41. >> our new map shows a tighter

race on the surface but looks can be se seefing. 272 secretary clinton, 179 for donald trump. the dark blue solid dem, light blue lean dem. >> what is different, yesterday we had florida and nevada leaning democratic. new polling shows dead heat. we shifted them to thes to up category. that is what makes the race look tighter. if you look at the polling data you will understand how steep the hill is for donald trump heading to the final ten, 11 days of campaigning. start in iowa, a state where trump has been consistently ahead. new quinnipiac university data shows a tie, 44-44 percent and hillary clinton doing well in early voting in iowa. iowa maybe on the map for the democrats. now georgia, yet another ruby red state. like utah and arizona. donald trump should be well ahead at this point in the campaign. instead, quinnipiac university finds 44-43.

that is statistically a tie. and the poll found among those that voted early a big edge for secretary clinton. move up to the coast. about time we take virginia and put it in the solid blue column. the latest poll shows a double-digit clinton lead in virginia. twice it went for obama. pretty soon we may as well say game over. big lead for clinton. in k nnorth carolina, donald tr cannot win without it. and quinnipiac says clinton 47, trump 43. small lead but this has been consistent, stubborn, small, persistent leads in north carolina and doing well in the early voting. switch back. those four state polls. good news for clinton. tight races in some races that trump was leading in. now iowa is as toup state and not leaning republican. look at how far donald trump

would drop. clinton is across the finish line. trump 157. one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eights to upstates under this scenario. even if donald trump won them all he would be short. is he going eight for eight and then find a ninth, not impossible but improbable which is why you look at the map and think heading in to the final days state by state favors clinton. >> he is right. the race is naturally tightening. it always wanted to be a three-point race. it swung out, if there were major controversies about donald trump. right now things are settling out. barring something incredible happening, it does look like hillary clinton will be the next president. look, we still have quite a bit of time. there are quite a few wikileaks that are yet to come out. >> is that what you are pinning your hopes on? >> that's all there can be. >> there is no wikileaks that

donald trump might now be backing away from his threat to take legal action against 11 women who have come forward to accuse him of sexual assault. >> these stories are fabricated. they told lies. >> you are going through with the lawsuit? >> let's see what happens with the election. >> less than a week ago he stood on the hallowed ground of gettysburg and outlined the plan for his first 100 days as president and that included litigation. >> every woman lied when they came forward to hurt my campaign. total fabrication. the events never happened. never. all of these liars will be sued

after the election is over. >> so that raises the question, what happened between now and then? well, there was a tweet from a leading first amendment lawyer in the united states who the "los angeles times" once called a hired gun. he posted i will represent pro bono anyone trump sues for exercising their free speech rights. many other lawyers have offered to join me. he is joining us now. ted, thank you for being with us. donald trump makes no secret he likes to sue people. he's been involved in thousands of lawsuits. are you surprised he may not follow through on his threats this time? >> well, what he does is he threatens lawsuits and here he is doing it to chill free speech and chill critics in the middle of a presidential election. i can't imagine a more blatant violation of the spirit of the first amendment and the constitution. the statement he played he said we will see.

he is keeping the lawsuit p possibili possibility. if he is saying he wins or loses he will sue, i'm not sure. but he is using the threat to deter and squelch speech. that violates the first amendments principles and he should stop threatening people and stop intruding on first amendment rights. >> his wife, melania, she says she wants her day in court. this is what she said to abc news. >> they were lies, and as i said before, all the accusations, they should be handled in a court of law. >> reporter: you believe the lawsuit should go forward? >> yes, i believe that. because to accuse somebody without evidence is very hurtful and damaging and unfair.

but honestly, do we still need to talk about that. >> would trump have any chance of winning lawsuit but what might be a dozen separate lawsuits? >> i don't think he has any chance. he's a public figure, probably the most famous person person in the world. the libel standard under the case create a tremendous burden. he'd have to prove knowledge of falsity by the individuals. he'd have to prove reckless disregard of the truth. the standards are insurmountable for him. mrs. trump said there is no evidence there's evidence. the women have come forward in very difficult circumstances and told their stories and their -- what they said happened. that's evidence. that's direct evidence. he would have to counterthat with his own clear and convincing evidence i don't think he would be able to do that. he would have to go through depositions. he gave that speech about his first 100 days.

i immediately thought he's going to have 100 days of depositions. that's his first 100 days if he brings the suits. >> you made the offer on the basis of defending free speech. explain how is this different, these allegations against donald trump, why are they considered free speech issue and not slander? >> well, here, we have, we're in the middle of a political campaign. a campaign'l for the presidency. that's where the first amendment protections of free speech are at the highest, strictest level. at bottom, the first amendment is protecting the people's rights to gather information so they can govern themselves. here where we have a campaign going, these are individual citizens speaking out during an election. they have every fundamental right to do that. just to call something slander to deny it does not mean it is protected speech. the constitution creates what

the supreme court has called breathing space and tolerates caustic debate, criticism, particularly of government officials, particularly of wealthy, powerful individuals who want to be president. so this is the essence of what the framers of our constitution had in mind in terms of the kind of debate and argument about who should be president. mr. trump's in the position to respond. he could lay out his side of the facts instead of branding people liars. help has the power and ability and platform to respond with his own speech. >> quickly, how many other lawyers have signed up for this and what message are you sending to mr. trump? >> it has made me feel good about my profession. we had least 100 lawyers by twitter, e-mail, foerngs incloouding laurence tribe, scholars of the greatest minds we have in this country, and it sends a message there's going to

campaign year. everything is hyper politicized. because of trump's praise of putin he made it irresistible to attack and pound him on this issue. the male hacks, which are by any objective standard a relatively minor infraction, an irritant have been blown up in to this attempt top subvert our democracy. it's only a big deal because we made it a big deal. people inside know there's hacking like this all over the place all the time by states, private actors and to those that have been inside the system and close to policy making and the defense establishment it is curious this has become about attempt to undermine our country. it's not that big of a deal, except you have made it that way. >> you mentioned donald trump and his sort of odd admiration

of putin. he again today seemed to be defending russia. listen to this. >> it would be nice if we got along. if we don't, we don't. but it would be nice. how can he get along with her? how can he get along with her? he has no respect for her, number one. and the way she talks, ridiculous. i will tell you, honestly, if we could have a good relationship with russia it would be a good thing, not a bad thing. it would be a good thing. i don't know that would happen but it would be a good thing. >> what he is saying, wouldn't it be nice, that's an aspiration not a foreign policy. how do you explain trump's attitude toward putin and russia. >> i don't know. i see the same things that others, those who have advised him, his business contacts. i can't tell you which individual or which experience has brought him to this position he's been holding,er but you are right, nobody would dispute it would be nicer if we could get

along better with russia. at the same time, hillary, the likely winner, hillary clinton, will have to deal with putin the day and months after and it's going to be difficult. i don't think it's true by any stretch of the imagination that putin and the russians don't respect hillary. she is as tough as nails and as experienced as any foreign policy leader has been. does putin like her? no. there is enormous personal an mouse there but the russians understand this is a campaign. the rhetoric gets heated. it happens every four or eight years. russia is used to being being a political football. we will get back to brass tacks an the things that will decide our relations in the future will be straightforward and objective, not the hisser theics we are seeing now. >> quickly, putin said he did not prefer trump over clinton or

clinton over trump but he went on to say some positive words for donald trump. listen to this. >> translator: trump behaves extravagantly of course. we see this. but i think there's a reason for this. because in my opinion he represents the interest of that part of society and it's quite big in the united states, which is tired of the elite who have been in power for decades. >> is putin needling. >> sure. but the needling hurts a bit because there's a grain of truth to it. the same as when trump says wouldn't it be great if we could get along with russia and cooperate in the fight against isis. yes, he's right. to putin himself he doesn't have to be about analyst of american politics. he sees our analysts exploring the problems of money, politics, exclux and so forth. let's face it, what will matter is the concrete issues of

u.s. coalition forces are moving forward in iraq. they have killed up to 900 isis fighters. they have started to send suicide squads to mosul from raqqah, syria. >> raqqah is the next isis stronghold coalition forces will be targeting. we are joined live via skooip skype. thank you for joining us. why are isis fighters launching such fierce defense of areas to the south of mosul, opposed to retreating to take a stand there in the city? what's the group's strategy? >> they are being pretty effective. they have blunted the momentum of the iraqi army.

the iraqis are moving forward but a much slower pace. they have to go slowly to clear the obstacles, suicide bombers and minefields and car bombs. it is being effective. >> it appears the iraqi coalition is successfully coordinating among the different parties involved. if they get to mosul and breach the perimeter, one would expect that cohesion to be tested in a new way. >> i think it will be. we're seeing how fierce the defense of the city of mosul is to be. we're not even to the city yet, and the fighting is already quite intense, quite fierce. once they get to the city itself, it's going to be that much more intense. we have heard from the iraqi generals that they plan to only use the iraqi army and iraqi police forces inside of the city itself and have the kurds remain out. i think once they get in there and find how 45rd this will be,

christianity as a whole. >> what we are looking at is investigating how this whole site evolved over time, how this become the focal point of worship and veneration for more than 2 billion christians today and that it has been a holy site for more than 1700 years. we have not uncovered this tomb for more -- almost 500 years. this is the first time in american memory we have removed the marble from the tomb and we are able to look down and investigate the original rock that according to christian tradition the body of jesus christ was laid out on. >> the sight of jesus's tomb was identified about 300 years after he died. could this discovery confirm that this is in fact the right location? >> the absolute location is -- again it is a matter of faith. this was pointed out by eyewitnesss in jerusalem to

helena the mother of the roman emperor constantine. and there was a communal memory of where jesus had been buried. she excavated the site and found a rock cut tomb there that is identified in history as the tomb of jesus christ. >> when you are looking at examining the burial slab, how long before we get an indication, when will it give up some of its secrets if you like? >> it is happening as we speak. the tomb was opened on wednesday night. and a team of scientific researchers from the national technical university at athens are working around the clock. they have 60 hours to remove the marble this the fill that is being found inside the tomb and to expose the rock. >> so why was the rock actually covered up, or the slab covered up by the marble in the first place? >> well, according to early historical accounts, what has

been happening -- what had happened in the past was that you had a lot of pilgrims that were eager to take a little piece of the tomb away with them. so custodians of the church eventually covered the original rock with marble slaps to prevent souvenir gatherers, so to speak. >> so the experts believe the marble was placed more than 400 years ago, in 1555? well, yes, this is -- that's one historical account we have. it may have been been placed even earlier, by the 1370s. what we are finding, when the scientific team is finding in working together is that we have multiple layers of marble going down, marble slabs and we need to work with all of those in order to expose the rock and seal it. what is happening the shrine that encompasses the tomb, the
