to substainate the president''s allegation. the president's tweet storm came as a surprise. it's not uncommon for the president to wake up in the morning and begin tweeting, he began tweeting 6:30 a.m. they reported to a breitbart news circulating around the news. he claimed that president obama worked to undermine trump's presidential campaign and administration including through variation investigation on russian and possible ties. this officials said that story on breitbart news infuriated the president. the president social media director and adviser dan tweeted out a link to that news story

there are layers of things that investigator have to go through to get permission. in talking to a senior level initial former initial with the department of justice who had direct knowledge of this investigation flatly denied it. that has been continued through the day and talking to some other u.s. officials. no one can understand what donald trump is rerching in tern of this allegation of his phone being tapped the government listening in on his conversation. we have not had new information since this morning there's no clarity what he was talking about. all we know is that former officials are denied it. some current u.s. officials have denied it. >> on that point, the white house has offered no further
