9:01 pm
good evening. thanks for joining us. minutey happening tonight including the latest on how far hillary clinton's campaign went to get dirt on donald trump. and new reporting breaking news on how far the trump campaign may have gone to get dirt on her. trump supporters say the real scandal is what the clinton side did and a number of key republican lawmakers appear to be trying to steer their investigation into that direction. we'll talk about both views tonight. we begin with contact between a data crunching -- what are you learning tonight about this connection between the trump campaign and wikileaks.
9:02 pm
>> we've learned that the head of cambridge analytica, a data firm for the trump campaign reached out directly to week i licks director julian as sang during the campaign. he acknowledged that did in fact happen. he says he rejekd the request. the head of this firm sent an e-mail to several people, including top republican donor rebecca mercer relaying that he had e-mailed as sang but sources tell us no one from the actual campaign was on that e-mail chain. for context, we can i leaks was responsibility for releasing e-mails from the -- not hillary clinton's e-mails which we don't even know if a third party ever obtained. so this new revelation establishes the closest known link between the trump campaign and i can wikileaks and it happened while donald trump was on the campaign trail, anderson, talking about hillary clinton's missing 33,000 e-mails, as
9:03 pm
you'll recall. we should also mention the daily beast was first to report the e-mail outreach. >> the trump campaign has responded. michael glass ner clearly trying to distance the campaign saying, quote, once president trump secured the nomination in 2016, one of the most important decisions we made was to partner with the republican national committee on data analytics. we as a campaign made the choice to rely on the voter data of the republican national committee to help elect president donald j. trump. any claims that voter data from any other source played a key role in the victory are false. >> cnn has covered a few things that seem to refute that statement. >> that's right. it's clear that there was more of a relationship than than what is sorted of conveyed in that statement because we've learned that just after trump won the nomination his campaign started a series of payments to analytica in july all the way
9:04 pm
through december. in addition jared kushner who headed up one of the data operations said to forbes' magazine back in november just after the president won the election we kept both data operations going simultaneously and a lot shared between them. and by doing that we could scale to a pretty good operation. so it appears there he is giving credit to cambridge analytica with their success. >> stay right there. i want to bring in betsy woodruff. betsy, as we said, you broke the story this morning. if all of this is true, this would be the closest connection between the trump's campaign and julian assange. >> it's been reported that roger stone communicated through an intermediary with as sang, but there's no caters that he was speaking on behalf of the campaign or in any capacity that was official.
9:05 pm
however, alexander knicks was and is the ceo of aim bridge an lit which which was paid almost $6 million for work it did on the campaign. and when knicks reached out to julian as sang, he was specifically offering, according to my sources. of course, those e-mails have not been released or distributed. as someone who was at the top of a company that worked for the trump campaign, that's a direct link. >> josh, you were reporting inside the data operation called inside the trump bunker with 12 days to go. you heard what they said about relying on the rnc there in their statement. that's true. >> it's almost laughably false. we were vied down in the month before the campaign in order for them to show off what it was they were doing. the idea at the time publicly
9:06 pm
was that the data operation of the campaign was just trump and his twitter feed. no, in fact, they had three different sources of polling. and not only that, they had a team of kram bridge data scientists embedded in san diego who were doing very sew fists indicate handle work. in the weeks right before the election when stomach started winging wisconsin -- he was there because the cambridge models told him that's where you can pick up voters. >> so in that statement today we only relied on rnc and any other suggestion, that's false. >> they showed off their waers. it would spit out the likeliest path for trump to get to 270 electoral votes and they would send trump to that state based
9:07 pm
on what the model told us. >> if you're robert mueller, would you care about this? >> oh, heck, yeah. you've got two basic questions here, anderson. the first question is whether anybody in the trump campaign participated with russians to acquire the data. that's why the conversations between donald trump and a russian is significant. if you acquire data or participate in an either to acquire data, how do you get that out? do you participate in a conversation with wikileaks about getting that out. when you're investigating there's data and interviews. this is a gold main. i want to know every time anybody from the trump campaign spoke or e-mailed or texted with cambridge an lit what, what the content were.
9:08 pm
when done junior said he was speaking about immigration issues, what is adoption and when we learn from the e-mail -- as we said as a candidate donald trump -- i remember him giving a speech where he said i live wikileaks of the his own cia director has a very different view of them. >> he sort of changed his tune as soon as he became the director. he said that wikileaks was a none state hostile intelligence service that was doing the bidding for u.s. adverse others like run. wikileaks was like a paup arm. russians. that's how it was being used during the campaign. and the intelligence community made a direct link between wick i weeks and the raurnls during the campaign. >> lets i, can you just explain why would someone from this
9:09 pm
company reach out to julian assange? i mean, was the offer if you have them, give us the 33,000 e-mails and we'll help distribute them? because week i leaks doesn't have any problem distributing stuff. >> i can't get into any more details. one thing that we know without any debt is those 33,000 e-mails were something of a great white whale or the republican party. there were republican operatives ook specifically looking for those e-mails. president trump bring them up in one conference. trumped that he hoped if russia had those e-mails that they would release them. the current president virtually sanctioned efforts to try to obtain those 33,000 e-mails. the as a result it's not certainly surprising that somebody leaving a company that was deeply invested to trump
9:10 pm
being a -- >> i just want to play you one of the things that then candidate trump said on the trail. >> russia, in you're listening, i hope you're able to find the 30,000 e-mails that are missing. >> josh, you obviously wrote this the book on steve bannon. is he connected to this at all? >> that's the other big kmekz. bannon was the ceo of the trump campaign, i believe, at the time these e-mails were sent. he had already been not only a stakeholder but a board member. very closely aligned with rebecca measurrcer, so -- >> it's possible there are more e-mails that mueller would have ses to. i'm not aware of e-mails for bannon. and i haven't done the showing. asong was almost yiek a mascot
9:11 pm
of the trump campaign. i was embedded during the trump campaign head quarters. so he was somebody who was actively cheered on not just by trump but by people in the trump campaign. >> do you agree with what phil said earlier that this would be of interest to the mueller's team. >> i think -- this could speak to the intent that folks in his trump's international. additionally, the mandate that bob mueller has for the investigation that he's conducting is to look at any coordination or links between people who are associated with the trump campaign and the russian government. clearly alexander knicks was associated with the trump campaign, so he's part of that
9:12 pm
man at a time. the broader question goes to the work that as sang was doing. how he bbtd and then kwentel published the hacked e-mails that he ended up putting on wk i leaks. to anyone interested in the nature to the way the intelligence community function in the contemporary world. >> hing's connection to the dossier. whether her campaign told the truth about it and whether some republicans today are trying to make it the central connection to the entire russia probe. despite all that you've heard this week, this month and maybe this year, a love fest. keeping them hon owes when we come back.

defense wins championships. -well, it does. -right? why is the door open? are we trying to air condition the whole neighborhood? at least i bundled home and auto on an internet website, progressive.com. progressive can't save you from becoming your parents, but we can save you money when you bundle home and auto. i mean, why would i replace this? it's not broken. president trump is in dallas tonight at a fujd raiser. if he makes news tonight we'll bring that to you. leaving the white house today he played plenty. you can decide how much it reflects about the president. here is what he said about yesterday's lunk with gop senators and shortly before republican senator jeff flake. >> we have actually great unity in the republican party. that's okay. look, they have to do their thing. if you look at what happened yesterday at the meeting we had, i guess, virtually every
9:17 pm
senator, including john mccain. we had a great conversation yesterday about the military. i think we had a -- i called it a love fest. it was almost a love fest. but maybe it was a love fest. >> now, michael lesson of axios reports he did get standing ovations. you also heard the president cite those as a party united. keeping him honest, though, this isn't about what we're saying. it's about what other republicans are saying. >> privately a of any clegz super fresd concern about the decks of your politics and the behavior of the president. i think in the coming months you'll have more people stand up. the cumulative weight of all of this, there comes a tipping point where we realize we just
9:18 pm
captain continue to normalize this kind of favor. so i think we'll have more people standing up in the coming months. >> not mentioning president trump by name, of course, but making clear who he was talking about. ohio governor john kasich. now, you can say these people don't represent party party, republican and that is certainly true. in nine months of a presidency with the republicans running both the house and the senate a good sign of party unity. we're just report on the ground it. it's hard not to. so many republicans on the hill and in the west wing leak about it. the president blames the media for other things as well. >> well, the i think the press makes me more uncivil than i am.
9:19 pm
people don't understand. i went to an ivy league college. i was a nice school. i did very well. i'm a very intelligent person. i think the press creates a different image of donald trump than the real person. >> what's interesting about that claim is we probably hear more directly from this position than any other president in american history. the white house likes to say that twitter allows him to connect communicate where the president -- anna, when you hear the president say, you know, there was a love fest, standing ovations, there were standing ovations. is there party unity? >> i don't know what the standing ovation were for. he might have said god bless america and gotten a standing ovation.
9:20 pm
anybody who is not living at a rock or the international space station realize that the republican party is going tlu a very hard time. there's factions, great division. we're seeing it play out on the senate floor. we're seeing it play out in our living rooms. we're seeing it play out in our families, amongst our friends. we're seeing it play out amongst regular citizens who just republican voters and are feeling this question of is this still by party? can this still be my party. it's a very -- the bob corkers of this world say i cannot stomach to do what i have to do. some others like john mccain and i subscribe to his school of thinking will fight to the death to defend traditional republican values. the irery of all of this is that the republican party, it's soul,
9:21 pm
its tone, its face has been dramatically changed by a man who until a few years ago was a domestic. >> are people uniting behind this party? it seems like this is now the republican party of president trump. >> yeah. this is a conversation about the outliers. you know, these guys, flake and corker, doin the stretch the civil war on the republican party was the primary and trump won. he won on issues and he united the party. when the party come through united. >> he still has very high numbers among the republicans. >> by the way, we should do a series on flake, a profile in cord as. he admitted he voted to hillary. it wasn't on cia, sorry. he admitted he voted for hillary. he doesn't believe in the party's position and he quit because he said you can't run the hold and the positions i hold.
9:22 pm
>> his voting record, though, is as a conservative. >> his voting record is the old-fashioned establishment, voting for trade deelts and immigration. the civil war was oiv -- >> he got glowing scores on his voting. well, anyone moose ago when donald trump took office, those were the gold standard of what -- >> that's not the republican party anymore. >> so. absolutely. he lost. the people that held those positions lost miss reshlel in the primary. the fight was over, tratd, immigration and the tone of dag -- it's trump and bannon's party. >> but i mean, an ton has never been elected to i didn't go. there's still a lal of republicans who i would may you're saying would go to --
9:23 pm
>> let me tell you what the difference -- i could spend all night talking about the difference between me and them, but one of the big differences is as disgusting a human body as i find him, i would hope to have a republican party -- they can also be under that -- >> trump didn't ask flake to quit. >> he's been attacking him, calling him the flake. he can't stand criticism even if it's constructive credit sear. and here is the problem. i think this is a short term victory for donald trump. undeniably he's gt a scout to show on jeff flake. also, let's remember that he won the electric oral college. but he won many of those states by a very narrow margin. if you are making the republican
9:24 pm
party that any people who voted for donald trump even though didn't like him -- >> the movement is growing the republican party. i want a guy who is on our side. i don't want a guy who is for the global list deals and the free trade looks. when flake looefts, we're going to get fearless conservative who are going to take flake's spot. we're not going to get a moderate. >> wouldn't that be great? >> i'd like to see him in jail. >> well, he got pardoned so you're off the hook there. >> which he shouldn't have had. but that's another issue. look, the way -- i was not good at math, but i know enough about math to know that the way you win is by anding, it's not sub
9:25 pm
tlakting. >> let's add a senator who voted for trump, not hillary. that's a better addition. let's take somebody who is actually on board with the -- that's what makes was. and flake said today, he said he couldn't win. he's not republican anymore. so that's okay -- >> i don't think he said he's not republican anymore. he said he couldn't win -- where the party is right now. >> he said the party's positions. that's the waert. >> who he said was he basically -- >> another. thoesht -- >> what re they? >> prochoice but they didn't get to change our planks. that's what flaf wants. that's what he said in his speech. he said i hope we get back to a party that gives am nestry -- by the way, look, it's dproeg. it's growing in the country. the base -- >> no, it's not, ed. take a look at his numbers.
9:26 pm
take a look at donald trump's he was. i know -- when ear not vapous to youment he has got a with us that does not budge but he also does not -- >> we're going to continue this in the next hour. you're both coming back. we have a new statement. it concerns an actresses allegations that he touched her inappropriately during a photo on the part several years ago. at age 93 -- to try to put people at he's the president. some have seep it as innocent. others clearly view it as inappropriate. to any he offended -- has offended, president bush apologizing those sincerely. that statement just put out. there's breaking news. president trump weighs in on the designs on the border wall. we'll play his comments next. e s seems a little... strange?

9:30 pm
more breaking news tonight. the president just weighed in on the design prototype tore the border wall with mexico. right now there are eight wall prototype not by six different companies on display. here is what president trump said in an interview on fox business news. >> you think of a wall as a wall. >> yeah. >> but honestly you do need some see through ability because if you do pure concrete, which is a wall, then you can't see who is on the other side. you know, you have a wall that's this thick and you can't see what's on the other side. so we're going to need some see through abilities. >> cnn has invitation those border types on the border. he brings us this report.
9:31 pm
>> reporter: president trump said he wanted a big, fat, beautiful wall. these are his 30 by 30 foot options. one of these eight contestants could soon stretch 2,000 miles across the border. >> there's a chance that one of them gets selected. eight of them get selected or a mix of their characteristics get selected for construction. >> they sit like giant tombstones just east of san diego in the no man's land right on the u.s. mexico border. the president has consistently said a wall will be built along the entire border. >> he says 2,000 miles a border wall. you say we'll put it up where we -- >> well, there's testimony already out there. there was a testimony by the former. >> right. >> chief of homeland security, which was general kelly, in which he in testimony said that you won't see a wall from sea to shining sea. we will put the wall where it makes sense. >> customs and border patrol
9:32 pm
deferring to the same john kelly who is now the president's chief of staff. the cost for just these test walls? $20 million. building any one of them across the entire 2,000 mile border could cost more than $20 billion. >> beyond this, whether the 20 billion to believe the entire wall comes, that's for another day. >> so right now our focus is to complete the process of construction of prototype. >> so the prototype or the contestants, they're done. but it's going to take another month for the cement to dry and for the walls to settle before they can be tested. and then they'll go at them, see whether they can be scaled, climbed, dug under or breached. >> you will test these walls to their maximum. >> correct. >> on the mexican, building met with disbelief. when you see these, what do you -- >> for our country --
9:33 pm
>> a mexican citizen who teaches border issues at san diego state university says a 30 foot wall would deter migrants, but not everything. >> will a 30 foot wall 2,000 miles long stop drugs. >> they enter through different ways, through port of entries, through sea, by land. >> and tunnels, lots of them. >> if we could take a picture of the land, of the ground underneath us, what would it look like? >> well, a lot of tunnels, obviously. probably in this moment somebody is building a tunnel. >> at least some of these walls come with tunnel deterrence too. big beautiful walls above and below ground. >> how much do we know will a wall like the president is asking for actually help stop illegal border crossing? >> reporter: well, it's not entirely clear. and border protection is saying, look, we're not going to build this across the entire way. people who say if there are
9:34 pm
holes in that wall, migrants will find their way around any 30-foot barrier shlg the other thing to think of is the number of illegal crossings has been coming down in recent years from 2009 where there were over 162,000 to this year where there's just 26,000 crossings. that number has been come down precip to usel for several years. anderson. >> appreciate it. thanks very much. when we come back, president trump speaks out about revelations that the clinton campaign and the dnc reportedly funded research for the now infamous trump dossier. we'll play you what he said next. today, a focus on innovation in the southern tier is helping build the new new york. starting with advanced manufacturing that brings big ideas to life. and cutting-edge transportation development to connect those ideas to the world. along with urban redevelopment projects worthy of the world's top talent. all across new york state, we're building the new new york. to grow your business with us in new york state

9:38 pm
our country depends on it. today president trump weighed in on revelations about the clinton campaign and dnc involvement in funding the research that led to the now infamous dossier of alleges about connections between president trump and russia. according to the reporting that research initially had been funding by an as of yet anti-trump republican source. here is part of what the president today as he left the white house. >> well, i think it's very sad what they've done with this fake dossier. it was made up, and i understand they paid a tremendous amount of money. and hillary clinton always denied it. the democrats always denied it. and now only because it's going to come out in a court case they said, yes, they did it. they admitted it. and they're embarrassed by it. but i think it's a disgrace. it's just really -- it's a very
9:39 pm
sad -- it's a very sad commentary on politics in this country. >> let's just make this clear. the president keeps calling it a fake dossier. there are large portions of it that have been corroborated by the u.s. intelligence community, correct. >> that's absolutely right. cnn has reported that as far back as february. the intelligence community corroborated portions of this, specifically meetings and conversations between trump associates and russians including russians known to u.s. intelligence did in fact take place as detailed in the dossier. there's a demonstration of that. remember, the intelligence chiefs considered it substantial enough to breathe then president-elect donald trump to provide them with a synopsis of this dossier in that briefing in january and more recently cnn reported earlier this month that in fact the intelligence community and law enforcement considered it substantial enough again that they did not include it in the public assessment of russian interference in the u.s. election released in january as
9:40 pm
well because they didn't want to let on what exactly corroborated and how they corroborated it. and more recently we reported that robert mueller has also interviewed the author of the dossier, christ on steel, the former mi6 agent who put it together. >> what more are you learning about the clinton campaign involvement with the dossier. >> a source familiar with the matter telling cnn today that the law firm perkins coy as part of its representation of the clinton campaign and the dnc retained the intelligence firm into engagement for research began in april of 2016 and brkd before the election in november. i should note that previously cnn has reported that the fusion efforts were first -- democrats began paying the research firm later on after trump became the presumptive nominee. the identity of the republican cliept or clients has not been
9:41 pm
publicly revealed. isht note that christopher steel did not begin working on the dossier until the democrats began -- it was paid for by republicans originally. >> that as the news was breaking last night. when i tried to report this story clinton campaign lawyer pushed back vigorously saying you or your sources are wrong. ken vogue eljoins us now. >> so did the clinton campaign lie here? >> i don't know about lying. they pushed back visousel. i had told him that i had sources who said perkins cowe was the client, that he actually possessed the dossier before the election that he was involved in packaging it to try to get media coverage of the contents of the dossier. you sonded you or your sources are wrong. clierl the sources were right in that perng ins was the client on behalf of the clinton campaign as well as the dna.
9:42 pm
what they say in their defense is that what we now think of as the dossier was not in that form at the time. in fact, it was just a collection of these memos. so they were spopding to a question about the dossier as opposed to the contents of their search. a little bit of semantics there obviously. >> seem to be splitting hairs there. whether it was the dossier or i guess they're saying it was just a bunch of memos, do we know how widely those memos or where those memos. i mean, this law firm is the middle man essentially. they're the one who hired fusion gps who had been doing ongoing research. what happened to those memos? who saw them. >> that's one of the big mysteries here, anderson. both top folks in the cln ton campaign as well as folks at the dnc up to and including the chair debbie wasserman schultz. all said they have no knowledge of this.
9:43 pm
hillary clinton herself told associates that she had no knowledge of it when the dossier was ultimately published by buzz feed. in fact, she expressed some disappointme disappointment that the dossier did not get out before the election. well, we now know that her own campaign or at least its representatives in this law if i am could have had had a hand in pushing this out and may not have done so as aggressively as she potentially would have liked. >> is this just what a lot of democrats are saying, is look this is just opposition research like any campaign does. >> i think that's probably right but then it does beg the question why would they go to such great length to distance themselves from it, both at the time as well as after the fact, after the election when i and other reporters were asking about it and trying to find the funding of the dossier. you have none of the folks who are willing to take the responsibility. it does sort of stretch kred ult to think that no one at the dnc
9:44 pm
or the clinton campaign would have been aware of this. there are people -- if they're spending all this money at perkins coy wee, in fact their expenditures during the election cycle totaled about $12.5 million. uld think they want to know precisely what they're getting for that money. >> and for republicans who are saying, well, this is hillary clinton's campaign colluding with russians, that's based on the idea that christopher steel was being fed false information and was passing that on or that -- how can you make that claim? >> well, to get in her head i'm not sure i want to do that because i think it is sort of a species claim. but perhaps the idea he was paying certainly. we certainly heard that that's a possibility and the way that these times of opposition research arrangements typically work if you're trying to collect
9:45 pm
intelligence from inside a foreign country you might pay sources who might give you that information particularly with christopher steel who was actually barred from entering russia after his service in that country as an mi6 agent for the uk. so con seefblel i guess there might be payments that would go to russians for information, but i think that's a far cry from saying that that's collusion between the clinton campaign and russia. >> appreciate your reporting. thank you. up next, republican congressman paul gasser spreads a conspiracy theory about the charlottesville white nationalist rally in august. we've given him an open invitation to come on the program and explain himself. i couldn't sleep and get up in time. then i found aleve pm. aleve pm is the only one to combine a safe sleep aid plus the 12 hour pain relieving strength of aleve. i'm back. aleve pm for a better am.

an update about a congressman who is spreading a conspiracy theory, insulting one. to the memory of heather hire who was killed by white supremacists the weekend other neo-nazis marched in charlottesville this past summer. he caught our attention a few weeks back because he vice news correspondent, elrooef. here's exactly what he said to her. >> let's look at the person that actually started the rally. it's come to our attention that this is a person from occupy wall street that was an obama sympathizer. so wait a minute. be careful where you start taking these people to and look at the background. george soros is one of those individuals who back these people. george soros, i think he was jewish and turned in his own people to the nazis. you have to be careful where we go with those.
9:51 pm
>> do you think george soros funded the neo-nazis? >> wouldn't it be interesting to find out. >> elle reeve came on our program. and i started out by asking her if what he said to her made any sense. >> no, of course, not. some of the people involved in that rally have track records going back five or ten years. their 990s of their nonprofits are available online. you look see who's funding them. they believe what they say. i presented that to them and i said i talked to these people. they don't sound like leftists and he just smirked at me. >> the idea that the way the congressman is saying, like, we're learning this or we're finding this out, as if it's the full weight of his office or the u.s. congress when, in fact, it seems like he's getting just getting stuff from alex jones. >> that seems to be where the news is coming from. alex jones claims to have sources all
9:52 pm
throughout the government but george soros didn't fund these people and what he's saying is not true. >> for the record, billionaire george soros, does fund causes, but a spokeswoman for his foundation fired back at the accusation made by the congressman saying he was 14 during the war and didn't collaborate with the nazis and didn't confiscate anybody's property. he says he witnessed the con fi skags of propercon fi sk evidence he took part in it. as to who organized the rally, it would be be a mr. kessler. according to vice news, he posted a youtube video railing against what he calls white genocide. since congressman gosar made the comments three weeks ago, we asked him on the program, gave him an open invitation to appear at any time. his office has declined. we sent randi kaye to find the congressman. she did and joins us now with the details. you tracked him down today. what he said he say? >> reporter: we caught up with
9:53 pm
congressman paul gosar after a hearing this morning on capitol hill, we tracked him down. i asked about jeff flake leaving congress and he was more than happy to answer that question. when i started to press hill on the controversial comments about charlottesville, the conversation got pretty heated. watch this. >> you said the charlottesville white nationalist march was created by the left, carried out an an obama sympathizer -- >> i think you need to go back and check that. i said wouldn't it be interesting to find out. i think you need to go back and retool that. >> what proof do you have if any? >> stay tuned. check out my website later. >> you said it's possible the billionaire investor, george soros was behind this whole thing. >> like i said, go back and take a look. >> we've taken a look at your comments. that's what you said. >> my proof will be coming. check my website out. >> it's all been debunked. >> it's not been debunked. absolutely not debunked whatsoever. so stay tuned. >> the conspiracy theory you put out there has been debunked.
9:54 pm
>> it has not been debunked. look at what cnn has talked about with what's going on with the clinton administration right now with the dossier. hardly an aspect in regards to debunked. you're not real news, you're fake news. >> sir, everything you said has been debunked, why are you continuing to put this out there? >> stay tuned. check out my website. you'll be surprised. >> fake news. >> so that was something. i know you've been watching his website. is there anything there? >> we've been checking it every hour since i met with him, nothing all day until just over an hour ago, this post which i guess he considered proof. in that post there's an interview, a link to an interview on "60 minutes" with george soros and he mentioned a lot of what you said at the top of the segment, he says he never took property from the jews, that he only witnessed property being taken. he doesn't paint himself as a

nazi sympathizer. and in that same link, there's a link to a radio show. in that link it's a far-right arizona radio host who also pushes out a lot of these alt-right conspiracy theories. in that segment this host says george soros did fund groups who then bussed people into charlottesville, including people from black lives matter people. this radio host also blamed charlottesville on the democrat, said much of it was there fault, said the money was from the left. so he's pushing the same conspiracy. but all in all if you look at the '60 minutes" interview and this radio link, there's no proof that the congressman promised here on capitol hill this morning would be coming tonight on his website. >> george soros was 14-years-old when the nazis invaded hungary. his father got him documents as many jews did to survive the

holocaust. he went to live with a christian man who was a collaborationist who did confiscate jewish people's properties. and george soros was brought along, by his own admission, once to witness that. but in that "60 minutes" interview, he said he did not confiscate anybody's property. >> absolutely. he said that moment changed his life when he realized what was happening. it had nothing to do with him. he had no roll. up next a breaking news on the trump campaign, how a firm reached out to wikileaks founder julian assange and asked for access to hillary clinton's e-mails. and how the campaign is responding to all this when we continue. but why go back there, when you can stay home... ...with neulasta onpro? strong chemo can put you at risk of serious infection. neulasta helps reduce infection risk by boosting your white blood cell count, which strengthens your immune system. in a key study, neulasta reduced the risk of infection from 17% to 1%...

but you know it's you, so know this. the activated charcoal in charco caps absorbs gas for fast gas relief without passing the gas. charco caps, put less boom in the room. breaking news tops the hour. on a day the president tried to make the russian dossier about the clinton's campaign connection to it, more than the dirt on him, we have new reporting on what may have been his campaign's effort to get dirt on her. pamela brown has the latest. she joins us now. what's the situation? what are you learning? >> reporter: we've learned the head of cambridge analytica, a data firm working for the trump campaign, reached out to julian assange
