your gut is dangerous. that's how we got into is iraq. facts matter when we're dealing with international diplomacy. and the american president, whose words really do matter. the larger problem isn't just politics, one of the bigger problems that is polarizing the country is should we go with feelings or thinking, right? and too many people on the extremes elevate feelings over thinking. that is how we have lost the ability to reason together. he becomes a poster boy for that. >> and you also don't know what to truflt. when somebody admits they're fudging the numbers, the truth, you don't know what to trust. that leads us to north korea and what the plan is and the entire korean peninsula. here's what the president said at the fund-raiserment i have to read it. we lose money on trade and we lose money on the military. we have 33,000 soldiers between north korea and south korea. let's see what happens.

new documents reveal another trump organization lawyer is involved in the legal battle surrounding the hush money payment to silence stormy daniels. the president's long-time personal attorney said he did this. he made the $130,000 payment himself. nobody was connected to it at the trump organization. donald trump then didn't know about it. >> and he wasn't paid back, which is a critical piece. >> now documents reveal, no, in fact, there was another top attorney at the trump organization, jill martin. her signature is on one of the legal documents that establishes the llc or at least is connected to the llc. there you see her signature. so what does this mean now?

>> it makes michael cohen's explanation much less plausible. it begs the question of why are so many people connected to such a weird payment based on a relationship that she is claiming to have with donald trump. people in trump's orbit tan general challengely confirm that it has been dealt with legally. the more people that come into this, the more it raises legal questions for what this means in terms of trump's potential liability. if they were supposed to be paid back with campaign funds. it is a much less convenient excuse, that i'm not sure people were buying anyway. >> at the end of the day, who cares. maybe there was a violation. maybe there wasn't. it won't impact any way on the

president. >> people care about that. >> do you think his voters care about any of this? if we're talking about the broader population of voters, do you think this is what's going to color their perception of president trump? >> i don't know. an actual violation is something concrete. >> let's be honest. it is not the violation alone. it is the apparent fact of a secret payment to a porn star through delaware corporation by his lawyer. all of that is attention getting, as well as unethical, as well as potentially illegal. >> but you see the polls. a lot of that is baked in. do you think he had the affair? probably. how about the poll floating around out there now. trump people, do you think it's immoral if he had the affair? it's 50/50.

do you think this changes his fate? >> politically, it is baked in the cake. that's an argument that clinton's people trodded out. >> no question. the standard is different with this guy and his base. >> his popularity is low enough he can't afford to start having his numbers erode. >> they have chosen that over the old character argument. >> the more this becomes a legally sticky issue the less likely it is to go away. the more people have to listen to it, the more it becomes -- if there is a violation there, it solidifies it and makes it more difficult to ignore it. you get into legal situations.

really the president has a choice. does he want to get rid of the people who bought expensive dining room tables and screwed up on "60 minutes", or go for the people who has been his antagonist on his policy whether it's sessions. he's really upset is at is sessions for recusing himself on russia issues. he feels that worsened his lot. or mcmaster, who he poked at when he was e overseas, to allied nations in germany. which way the president goes, i think in large part it is going to fend on what he feels the public blowback is. and he has a test with with the deputy fbi director. we will see what he determines in the next few days. >> some are embarrassments or distractions. many committed the sin of telling the president no. they tend to be from national

nearly a million students walked out of their classrooms wednesday in a nationwide protest demanding action to stop gun violence. the show is of student solidarity coming one month after the florida school massacre in response to a lack of action by congress. >> give us concrete solutions and for once value our lives over your bank accounts. >> we will accept nothing else than comprehensive gun control.

what did you want lawmakers to hear? >> at least in terms of demands, ban assault weapons, research gun violence, increased background checks. we think a lot of laws on the books are absurd. this is common sense. we know that. why don't the politicians know that? and get people out to vote. protesting is awesome and it's great that so many students can come out. but you can't effect change unless you go to the ballot box this midterm election in november. i haven't been affected by gun violence myself, but a lot of people have been. who is to say that couldn't have been our school as well.

>> the nra tweeted on the day of the walkout. a picture of an ar-15. it says i'll control my own guns, thank you. what does that message tell you? >> when a lot of students talk about increased background checks and make all of these demands, it sounds like we want to take away all the guns. the nra members are concerned about that. we want just regulation. i want it to be regulated like a car is regulated. that's really what this is about. and the ar-15 is a gun used for war. we don't want that out on the streets. i'm a student. i'm not naive. i have seen these other events. it is unrealistic to think all guns will be banned. but the message the nra is putting out is just for their people. we need the youth to be energized like the nra. if the youth can get behind this
