firms. and even if you cut in half, it is more votes than we need. >> i am going by small numbers. i won that state by hundreds of thousands of votes. >> he didn't. virtually, no claim he made on this call is true. about half way through brad raffensperger debunks it. >> do you think it is possible that they shredded ballots in fulton county and dominions took out machines. they're moving fast to get rid of their machinery. do you know anything about that?

you spoke on the senate floor warning about what president trump and the republican allies were engaged in when it comes to overturning the election. i want to play part of what you said. >> right now the most serious attempt to overthrow our democracy in the history of this country is underway. those who are pushing to make donald trump president for a second term no matter the outcome of the election are engaged in a treachery against their nation. >> if you look at where we are now, it only gotten worse, is it? >> that seems like a lifetime ago i gave that speech. december 11th, we were talking about a handful of lawsuits that were being brought and now we are talking about a full effort to end democracy, the effort that supports the majority of

republicans in the united states, senate and house combined. they're not successful and it is worth repeating that over and over again. they're not going to win the vote on wednesday. joe biden is going to be the president of the united states, the damage they are doing to our democracy is permanent because they have instilled this belief in a huge portion of the electorate, mostly republicans that supported the president that if a democrat wins the election is illegitimate, it must be of cheating even with no evidence. that's not going to work this time around. it will work and i am telling you two years from now or four years from now, there will be some democrats win in a red state and it will be overturned because of a believe in that state that donald trump is right when democrats win, they cheat. that's the end of american democracy as we know it.

they're not going to win this time around but ultimately this could be the undoing of american democracy. i think it is that serious. i thought it for a while. >> what they are depending on is they're enough responsible members of congress and senators who will not vote that way along with them so it gives them cover, they are calling for something that threatens the entire system of government and it is completely irresponsible and rep prehensible. they know it is not the case, they want to keep trump's base and happy and keeping them tweeting favorably for a potential run they have two or three years from now but they know they can do it because it won't actually happened. it is reprehensible.

>> well, so i think that describes a handful of the individual we are talking about. a handful of the senators do know that donald trump lost the election and they are doing this to score cheap political points. i think it is important to recognize that there is a whole bunch of other republicans in congress who actually do believe that their loyalty to the president out strips their loyalty to the country. there are a whole bunch of republicans more so many the house than the senate who are willing the throw out democracy in order to install the president again because they are putting trump's allegiance ahead of the country. they are tired of trump's democracy. i think you got to understand that there are two sets of republicans. some that are doing this for

clyburn. congressman clyburn, i appreciate you joining us. what's your level of confidence going into this and especially donald trump? >> well, i am cautiously optimistic that we are going to perform very well in georgia. we have been leaning in pretty heavily and calling on the experience that had on november 3rd. we went into that election day ahead significantly ahead. but, we did not maintain potency on the ground. we are trying to make sure that we don't come up short tomorrow in georgia. >> obviously the incumbent senator, perdue and loeffler stayed in locked step with the

president of all the lies and debunked conspiracy theory that he's floating. how much of tomorrow's election that you see a referendum and an assault for the democracy? >> that's part of what gives me a little bit of hope that we'll do better than expected in georgia because georgians are embarrassed by what the president is doing. i do believe that there is going to be backlash to it because they're counting on people who show up tomorrow and they're going to show up. >> georgia obviously has a history of voter suppression, how concerned should democrats be about that and frankly do you

think republicans should be concerned that president trump is going to suppress their turn-out with all the rigged election? >> i do not believe that the georgia's path is going to play a big a role tomorrow. i sincerely believe a lot of georgians have been freed by this efforts and a lot of pressure that's put on the process will not be there. i think all the votes are going to be counted and i think they're goi they're going to come out on top. >> does that benefit democrats? do you believe the race will come down to turn out?

>> i think so. there is no question about it. i think it is going to come out to turnout and i believe voters significantly because significant number of people are people who did not register to vote before november the 3rd. i think those people who turn 18 after november the 3rd are going to tilt towards democrats. >> when you heard the president's call with georgia's official, i am wondering what you thought? >> i was not surprised but i am very, very disappointed that there is not enough action by my republican colleagues before the phone call or before releasing

a fda issued a statement that puts an end to a controversial idea meant to address the slow rollout of the coronavirus vaccine. ahead of the government's effort to develop the vaccine, the fda would meet this week to discuss it. tonight the fda said the fda authorized dosing or scheduling of these vaccines is premature and not rooted solidly in the evidence without appropriate data supporting it. we run a significant risk of placing public health at risk. getting vaccines into arms a major problem right now.

today the cdc said just over 15 million doses have been distributed. only 4.5 million administered to patients. that's only about 337,000 more than on saturday. the virus took a life every 33 seconds. today another new hospitalization high. more than 128,000. despite all that, the head of the effort told cnn this morning nothing that has gone wrong. and tried to deny the promise of 28 million vaccinated by the end of the year. >> nothing has gone wrong. what we committed to is to have 20,000 doses available for the american people to be immunized with. >> no. it was that 20 million americans would be vaccinated. here is the sound of the promise that was made. listen to this. >> we will deliver 100 million doses of a safe vaccine before the end of the year. it may be quite a bit sooner than that. >> we expect to have approximately 40 million doses by the end of this year, so that

would allow us to vaccinate 20 million people in december. >> overall in the month of december between the two vaccines, we expect to have immunized 20 million of our american people and keeping 20 million doses for their second immunization a few weeks later. >> okay. i didn't realize you were part of this. you said 20 million people. >> yeah. so i did say that. >> yeah. you certainly did, as did others, including the president. i'm joined by a member of the biden covid-19 advisory board. he resigned from the trump administration last year as a whistleblower. do you agree with the fda that changing the dosing or changing the scheduling of vaccines right now is premature? >> anderson, thanks for having me on. you know, it is really important to follow the science. scientists spent a lot of time and energy conducting really thorough clinical trials. take two full doses to get a

full, safe and protective immune response. and that's where we should stay right now. that's where the science guides us. i fully support and agree with the assessment of the fda. i'm glad to see they are also following the science. >> what is your going wrong in your opinion right now in getting this stuff out there and getting it into people's bodies? >> anderson, a lot is going wrong. obviously we're far behind all the projections we have heard all yearlong from operation warp speed. they haven't delivered the number of doses. they haven't been produced and released. there is problems in the manufacturing to get those doses that we need to look at to get the supplies and raw materials to make more. there are problems after delivery into the states and the health care systems. the funding hasn't been provided to allow them to staff up and train people to administer the doses. there hasn't been a federal coordinated vaccination plan and program. the federal government working hand in hand with the states and

local jurisdictions. and also very importantly, the educational process to americans in all cultures in all languages and all pockets of our country haven't been initiated. so there is still this vaccine hesitancy. so people aren't lining up to take the vaccine as quickly as they need to. there is a lot that needs to p improved. president trump made it sound like the military was going to be getting this out. it was going to be done instantly. it was going to be incredible. that's what they were putting -- i mean, they were ignoring, you know, treatment. they were ignoring testing, downplaying all of that. the idea being their emphasis was getting this vaccine out and they failed with that. >> we have seen this all along for this last year, anderson. it's really disappointing. an attempt or an effort to overpromise or underdeliver on numerous occasions. this is the most complicated

vaccination campaign that we probably face in our country in decades, if not a whole century. so there is a lot of moving parts, and they all have to go well and they all have to be coordinated. i don't think the current administration put the effort to making sure they are coordinated and all the resources are there to get the job done. that's why we're seeing the ka ma'amty and chaos and challenge that we're seeing today. >> with the biden administration coming in, what can be done differently? >> we can do a lot differently. it starts at the top, of course. president-elect biden has made this a whole of government. we're all in this together, shared responsibility effort. we are working closely with the states and communicating with them now in all the various stakeholders to understand where we need to fill those gaps. he's made it very clear he's going to use every tool and every authority available to him to ramp up production of supplies, to ramp up production of vaccine. we're going to push the money out to the states and support them. it's not a handoff.
