8:25 pm
6th was one of the darkest days in our country's history. our democracy was attacked by insurrectionists and multiple people died and law enforcement were harmed including lives lost as you mentioned of the life of the officer sicknick and to think senate republicans would respond by ignoring of the truth of what happened that day and attempt to create a non-partisan independent commission to investigate the event of january 6th. it is beyond frustrating. i am hopeful that a few more republicans that don't have ten republicans that'll stand up for truth, choose country over party and do the right thing. >> you know when almost ask for favor, this is important and i need something on a local level or something? >> should the minority leader mitch mcconnell be asking for personal favor when it comes to

is the country headed for gridlocks? >> i think so. eventually the caucus will have to step forward and reform the filibuster. for those who claim the filibuster protects bipartisanship, ill point them to this particular episode. the reality reflecting on what the filibuster is attempted to prevent in this instance. it is preventing consideration of a bipartisan, non-patterson commission approved in the house with the vote of 35 republicans. it sounds like there will be four or live repubfive republic vote for this. it is time to end the filibuster in my view and many colleague in the house. if mitch mcconnell proceeds with the filibuster on the january 6th commission, i suspect the

position of not moving forward of any reform. >> a lot of legislation is being held captive to the filibuster including gun safety and glaring in a week when we are seeing another mass shooting this time in san jose. can this afford to wait, congressman? >> no. it can't, don. the last time i was with you on your program was the days after a tragic mass shooting in my community, boulder, colorado, we lost ten lives. another senseless shooting. another community ra vvaged. it is an example of how the filibuster has to be eliminated. certainly my constituents are tired of in action and excuses.
