>> any questions? he's been charged with 12 criminal counts now. that's just the latest video. last night this was also released. rioters pushing officers and using a metal pole attacking them. that will man is a retired officer that you see there in the red jacket. sadly those were not the only incidents we saw. officers were beaten. one lost a tip of his finger and another lost an eye and some suffers brain injury and still are recovering from. trump supporters are still trying to pretend none of this happened. they're still trying to shift the blame to anyone else. the latest target is the fbi.

the senate side of the building ch . he's charged with 12 criminal counts including assaulting police and carrying a dangerous weapon. prosecutors sending this video directly to the federal judge. while videos like this have been used, it was not been released publicly which is why. cnn and over a dozen other agencies have been fighting to release them as much of the police body camera footage and surveillance tapes that are being used in court still have not been seen by the public. now the clips that have been revealed, they come as some republican members of congress are attempting to rewrite history, down playing the event of that day and amplifying baseless conspiracy of who's responsible for the attack. that's why media outlets including cnn continuing to fiel

manchin, we were governors back in the day and we are nate se senators now. but, republicans are saying they're going to formally oppose it. they don't want to be within the time zone of anything that'll protect american rights to vote. we'll have a vote on tuesday. my expectation is that 50 out of 50 democrats will support protecting voting rights for americans. every republicans will oppose it. the push and fail that democrats will then go back and sit in a room and say to ourselves the american public gave us the majority on the day that trump and the insurrection trying to attack the capitol and overturning the election.

calling the delta variant. it is a variant that's easily transmissible and deadlier and dangerous for young people. >> the variant is hammering states in the south and midwest right now where vaccination rates are in the lowest in the country. steve edwards is "outfront" with me, thanks for being here. you are seeing this play out right now in your hospital and clinics. what are you hearing from doctors how it compares earlier in the pandemic? >> we have seen a five fold increase in hospitalizations in less than four weeks. our doctors are describing them as younger and sicker and they come to us later in the disease process so we have less therapy options for them.

10% of our cases look to be delta variant and our health department, icu are coming back at 90%. it is challenging our staff. >> absolutely. you are seeing more patients and come in later stages. are doctors seeing more severe cases and more deaths? >> so we are seeing younger pe people. we are having about one death a week and now we have one or two a day. because they're younger, the little better, right? our physicians told me that we have seen 3800 clinicians. in january they can look at a patient and predict how they'll perform and now they can't tell. it is something different about how this variant is affecting the immune systems of our

patients. >> the cdc says about 37% of your people in your county have rece received at least one dose of the vaccine. do you this i the low vaccination rate in the area southwest missouri specifically is fuelling this? >> i think it is a contributing factor. the delta variant is what's fuelling this. we have low vaccination rates throughout the south. i believe that is a reminder that probably much of the south and midwest and much of the places that have low vaccination rates if confronted of the delta variant we are seeing a surge right now. 123450now. >> that's a scary warning. why are more people getting shots in the region? >> i can only speculate looking at the data on vaccine hesitancy and it appears to relate to

variant going to be? >> it is fwgoing to hit places that are not well vaccinated. when i was listening to mr. edwards, i was saying to myself it does not have to be this way. in missouri, 55% of alldults ha received at least one shot. there are 17 states in which more than 70% of adults have had at least one shot. we are quickly moving towards a situation of a tale of two countries. coming fall, part of the university is going to obtain community immunity. a large part of the south and southwest and midwest are going to have real covid. it does not have to be this way. the vaccines we have now are very effective against this variant. all the folks need to do is get vaccinated. >> how do you square these two things, right? >> you have president biden celebrating the percentage of

people vaccinated. it is really worth celebrating. the same time this threat we are talking about, this delta variant, people opening up and going out and i fear not paying attention because it is hard to hear and it could get bad again. are we celebrating too soon? >> we are celebrating in some places too soon. the virus is rare but in other parts of the country like missouri, it is not that way at ail. i was at lambert airport two weeks ago and it was packed. when i looked around the wall to wall people in that airport. i knew that half the folks there had not been vaccinated. i would never go to a place like that, in that environment and unvaccinated. we have to really pick up the pace in the south if we are going to see a lot of people die

push biden conservative bishop, it is really notable because given and it had the support and deeply divisive within the catholic church. you see these bishops arguing about this for the last several days. they have moved ahead for this push in order to deny president biden and the ability to take communion given their support. this is the first time he was asked about the debate going on within the capitol party. he says it is a private manner but it is becoming public the last several days. we should know it had not gone anywhere yet and actually have not been finalized in a rwritte manner to where it is fwgoing t happen. i do think it was notable that he did not have a lot to say about this when asked about it and given of course we know
