. welcome back. one of the two suspects in a deadly mass stabbing in canada has been found dead. police are urging the public to stay vigilant as the manhunt for the suspect continued. it left four people dead and others wounded. >> reporter: it began in the predawn hours saturday in an

indigenous community. the police said they received records of multiple stabbings in several locations in james smith. the law enforcement issued a dangerous person alert telling residents to shelter in place. they identified the suspects as brothers. the manhunt was end asked by hundreds of miles and at 9:45 a.m., the police alerted that there was one stabbing victim in the neighboring village of wheldon and some victims were randomly attacked.

. ukraine's president is blame rush for a fire caused by shelling near the zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. the plant's last working reactor was disconnecter from the power grid as a safety measure. it comes after a visit from the international atomic agency which was at constant risk of attack. let's go to ukraine where we're standing by in kyiv. what is the latest from the situation at the zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant? >> reporter: still no external power supply to the plant that is a concern. first of all, one of the two

functioning reactors, the fifth reactor was shut off. it allows both energy to leave the plant and feed the electricity grid and help the cooling systems function was deliberately switched off, according to the iaa that was the report of shelling as well. it is of extreme concern. what experts say including the iaa and the ukraine nuclear provider, the electricity in the plant is being provided by the sixth reactor. the plant has not had to move to a backup generator like it did before.

a fast-moving wildfire in southern california has claimed two lives and a third person has serious burns. the fairview fire is raging in riverside county. so far it burned through 2,000 acres. it destroyed several structures and 5,000 homes are under evacuation orders. the local school district has canceled class for today due to the fire, that is only 5%

a strong earthquake shook southwestern china. the 6.6 magnitude hit monday afternoon local time triggering landslides that caused serious damage. 200 people were injured and 12 others remain missing. the rescue crews helping to clear blocked roads and digging in the rubble to find survivors. a typhoon left six people dead. we're getting a firsthand look

at the damage that the heavy winds and rain left behind. for the latest, paula hancock is live from seoul. so what the impact from the typhoon besides the damage and the casualties? >> reporter: there have been two confirmed deaths at this point. we understand ten people are missing as well and a small number are injured. the typhoon was only making landfall a short period of time, which is one of the saving graces, as it sped up as it approached the south korea territory. the military has been brought in to try to help. we know that the marines are helping with the rescue operations. most of this is in the southeast of the country. this is the city is particularly hard hit and also

with some of the recovery efforts trying to clean up as well. when it hit landfall, it was the equivalent of a category 2 hurricane. and the winds were in excessive of 154-kilometers per hour. that is 95 miles an hour. some of the images that we're seeing is extensive local flooding. we're seeing wind damage along the coastal areas and some 20,000 households without power. more than 3,000 people were evacuated just ahead of the landfall as well to make sure that many on the coastal area wanted to move further inland. so the issue is to make sure that everyone is unaccounted
