september the 19th, eight days from now. the queen's casket is expected to leave balmoral patacsil in scotland in about three hours. it'll be the first leg of what will be a salmon final journey back to london where she will lie in state at westminster hall until that funeral. let's get more on this was cnn. i see the queen's casket leave balmoral. that is not particularly a long drive to edinburg but it will take six hours. >> there's going to be several stops on the way and passing through the cities where it will eventually arrive at the official residence of the royal family. the policies of the hollywood house. and it will be taken to rest in the throne. as you mentioned several steps will follow before the queen is returned in london and later on

in windsor we will see significant taking prince charles will go to edinburg and he will meet and also on the stated queen's coffin being carried through a procession down edinburg to st. charles cathedral where she will be left to lie and people to pay their respects for a full 24 hours before the queen's return to london. and then expect to see eventually the queen taken to processing down to the palace of westminster down to buckingham palace where she will lay for a full four days. this will be a huge and historic event for the british people. there will be hundreds, thousands lining up to pay their respective or the course of the four days to see the queen. it is a history many was ever seen before. a solemn moment of paying their respects of mourning.

happens next? >> first of all king charles iii has more than risen to expectations. he has relaxed the nation. he is the king, he's going to be great. in her nobody moaning or complaining about it, he's risen to the occasion and expectations. >> as for the walkabout was so fascinating. i've never seen megan look so anxious at the start of the walkabout. she did not know what kind of reaction she was going to get through the puzzle popularity rating for the british public has dipped as low as 8% at one point with all the bombshell interviews but grief does strange things. william offered the surprising olive branch. i think he was clearly influenced by his late grandmother. the queen would always see the best in people and would never give up on something and would always talk about whatever

happened to harry and meghan they were always loved and always welcome. he really carried on the message by making a call. he did not have to do it, he did it, a strategic move, we will see. but certainly important and embraced by the public. becky: we know the details of the funeral plans now, the casket carrying queen elizabeth ii will leave balmoral today. and as an eight day journey through scotland and down back here to buckingham palace and then to westminster all ahead of a funeral on monday at westminster abby and that will likely be attended by leaders from around the world not least joe biden, who else might make the u.s. delegation. is it clear at this point? >> it is not clear you would

expect to see former presidents there in a congressional delegation. it's interesting with the british end of things the planning to this has been in decades. the americans have been doing it a bit. they did not know when it happened, when the delegation would be in this not like this president for this. she was on the throne for 70 years. it's not like there's a recent world hero they can use that same example. it's one of the most fascinating things to follow but this will be the most a-list guest list of anything since i expect charles and diana's wedding. it's going to be one of the most-watched events in history of the world news been so much affection for the queen from around the world so i'm sure there's plenty of american leaders who want to be there who actually gets those golden tickets, we will see. becky: finally how does the new

king charles iii provide value for the u.s., uk special relationship going forward? certainly the role with the second plate and sustaining that was an important one. water your thoughts? >> he loves america. i first met him in the '90s and the movie premiere involves thanks. charles came to los angeles for the premier of the movie frankenstein. he was greeted like he had never had been before. a red carpet celebrity. people were offering autographed books for him. that does not happen then the rest of the world. the celebrities at the after party were slapping him on the back. i remember exchanging his phone number the riches from seinfeld was trying to explain who he was. it was all very bizarre and very informal. charles absolutely loved it.

tough. they have lost the momentum. how important and what is known as warfare operational tempo and do the ukrainians have that now especially with winter months approaching. >> tempo is very important. what you seek to do is getting inside of the enemies decision cycle. every time they react to you they are reacting to old information that is irrelevant. the ukrainians have certainly done this in the north. they have a different style of commanding like the united states and other western countries where they delegate down. the russians are slower to respond because they were more centralized respond of command-and-control. it's very difficult to see the russians catching up with what the ukrainians are doing in the coming days. mike: in your latest twitter thread, there always informative. there was one comment that was important but frankly frightening.
