>> we're still waiting for some of the january 6th committee to donald trump and he's tapped two lawyers to be the point people for when that subpoena actually arrives. of course, the former president has been very critical of the committee's work. this is an indication that he knows he needs attorneys to engage with the committee, engage in some negotiations and respond to the subpoena. sarah murray, cnn, washington. georgia prosecutors have a green light to question senior republican senator -- a senior republican senator about his role in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election. on thursday a federal appeals court rejected a request to lindsey graham to stop his subpoena to testify in atlanta. whilst former president trump and his allies were trying to reverse his defeat in the state. graham's attorneys aren't saying yet whether he'll take his case to the supreme court. u.s. health workers are seeing a rise in what's called rsv, a common cold virus that can make kids and older adults very sick. cases in children have skyrocketed in recent months. health officials say it's putting a strain on hospitals. usually the symptoms are mild but for some it can be severe.

>> how's mr. spacey feeling. >> cnn's jean casarez was there and breaks down the case for us. >> reporter: kevin spacey's attorneys say they are very grateful to this attorney. anthony rapolas was asking for $40 million in this civil case. one count went to the jury of battery. the jury found kevin spacey not liable. therefore, there are no monetary damages at all. the case is over. it truly hinged on this party that anthony rap said he had in 1986, 35, 36 years ago in new york city. he said he had gotten an invite from kevin spacey that his broadway show was just ending. he was 14 years old but he wanted to go because he wanted to talk with producers and whoever might be there in the broadway circles. he said when he got there that there were people there and it was very noisy. he went into the bedroom and watched television and that's

health and other government agencies discriminated against the majority black population in jackson because of their race by not providing funds for water infrastructure and treatment programs. a water crisis left residents without clean drinking water for nearly two months this past summer. drought conditions have forced officials to take drastic action to raise water levels on the mississippi river. they are releasing a consistent flow from two dams to shore up the dangerously low levels. it's reached the lowest level in more than 120 years. let's bring in cnn meteorologist derek van dem and a meteor shower in the coming hours. >> more on that in a second. the drought, it continues to expand. some of the areas hit hardest is not where we want to see it expand and get larger. we have this area across the midwest that has been hit particularly hard.

welcome back to "cnn newsroom." i'm max foster. if you are just joining us, let me bring you up to date. the u.s. president is back in washington today after stumping for democrats in his home state of pennsylvania and touting his infrastructure plan. he joins john fetterman who's in a tight race with dr. mehmet oz. a new court filing shows the justice department and former u.s. president donald trump are fighting over 15 records kept at mar-a-lago. it's whether they are trump's documents or the property of the federal government. across the u.k. and indeed the world, the question is who will replace liz drus. she stepped down after a mere 45 days in office. making her term as prime minister the shortest in history. she will remain in office which could be as early as monday.

tragedy. the body has been discovered on the campus of princeton university late on thursday. authorities don't believe foul play was involved in the 20-year-old's disappearance and death. her family is grieving the loss of a wonderful young woman. >> i would describe her as a sweet soul, like somebody that cares about people beyond her. like she's very empathetic. >> our brynn gingras has more on this tragic story. >> reporter: just a devastating conclusion for the family of a 20-year-old junior at prince ton university. they say they have found the body of her at 1:00 on thursday at the facilities near the tennis courts. an employee found the body. we're told there were no obvious signs of injury. her death does not appear criminal in nature or suspicious
