this kind of a stage right, where donald trump and joe biden then get to truly. that is the kind of stage we are talking about here. >> it really is extraordinary. i'm going to get to a cnn poll in a minute where we will talk about, i just have to ask you if the, but when you see what has gone on, did -- how much do you think this will impact him as a candidate? because some people are brushing this often just saying that it does not really matter that much. >> look, it is not determinative, you can absolutely say that there is nowhere to go but up. but the fact is that desantis has been following in the polls for several months. he wanted to until before the legislative session got down. trump has taken advantage of that by softening him up. devastatingly effective ads like putting this ad, kind of infamously people who've been paying attention. but look, he has got a strong case to make. he was broadly reelected as

governor in florida. he has been focusing really on playing to the base, with policies that play better probably for the national electorate that many folks in florida. but he has remained popular and folks keep moving to his state. so until those trends change, people might not like the policies. in liberal communities or moderate communities. but he is tapping into that zeitgeist very intentionally. they bigger problem i think will be a seat you can come together as a happy warrior. i think honestly, he had a meeting with a couple of big donors who are looking for an alternative donald trump, typically folks walk out of those with a deal sealed and in several cases, that have been reported those folks walked away less inclined to back it. they were exactly fired up. >> i do want to get to a poll for cnn. and if you just take this question alone, would you support or would you consider supporting this candidate for

the gop presidential nomination, desantis 85, trump 84. does that give desantis some hope here? that this race is not done yet, that it is just getting started. >> absolutely, i want to be very clear that this race is not over yet. the race is just beginning. and the saints benefits from very high name i.d.. he has been considered the most likely candidate to try to challenge donald trump. the poll shows he is very much in considerations. people who are getting ahead of themselves, playing horse race politics by looking at polling over indexing it. stop it. let as many people who want to get into this race run. so if you can raise money, see if you can raise awareness. and then the field will start to wind out ahead of the primetime caucuses when they began earlier next year. but frankly, a lot of candidates were pulling in the single digits, seeming relatively high in that poll there. so it just shows you have fluid

as the typhoon moves away from the island. the storm regains it super typhoon status, and now, just shy of category five hurricane strength, with sustained winds of 155 miles per hour. it is expected to get stronger in the coming days. now, we will say, guam's governor has told people to continue to stay indoors. no deaths have been reported from the storm, which lashed the island with strong winds, and heavy rain. as i said, the governor there, still telling people to stay indoors, as they continue to assess the damage. the u.n., calling for more than two and a half billion dollars to help the people of sudan, with more than 40 days since the outbreak of war made a growing humanitarian crisis even worse. sudan's two warring factions, continued there fighting this week, despite signing on to a cease-fire on saturday. the u.n. says, the fighting displaced more than 1 million people well, more than 330,000

thankfully, heeded your warnings. i know it is tough to do the assessments, but we've been looking at video, some of the damage. it is those extensive damages, but what do you know in terms of any damage that was done, and how soon can recovery efforts began? >> the hospital had severe damages to the structure. it was a lot of fallen trees, a lot of lines, a lot of signage, it was why are they stood up, and we are, actually, an infrastructure that is very strong. it is a saving grace, a devastating of magnitude, and strength. i have to say, i have heeded my instruction, and our directions, and we have suffered no casualty, with very minor injuries.

i am thankful, and grateful, for that. we need to get back into normalcy, we will start recovering, i am expecting 2 to 6 weeks. we will have almost all of our island power back, and water. some, there will be some that has an urgency, and of course, a priority of facilities like the hospitals, schools, and so forth. for the most part, our utilities will, probably, i'll be coming back within 1 to 2 weeks. >> as much of a hardship, residents are really glad to hear that there is no deaths, or significant injuries. you talk about this infrastructure that is really able to match the strength of the storm. how has guam coped with that? i know it is a fear all over the world, as they continue to see these typhoons. how do you protect against the severity, the strength of those winds, and the rain that seems

to come down in buckets? >> you know we are an island, isolated, so we cannot just move to another state. our people have experienced these strong storms, they have built their buildings up to a high standard with this structure, by law. structural concrete, there are concrete roofs, concrete walls, and because we also hardened it extra with shutters. we bunker down, and as a result of that, it says that it is very significant in the safety of our people. i also want to take the time to give my greatest appreciation to president biden. they have issued a request for mind at this request of urgency, and as a result of that, we

this hour in ukraine, where authorities say russia has launched a new wave of air raids, right across the country, using iranian drones. president volodymyr zelenskyy says that russia use 36 drones, but none of them reach their target. the ukrainian air force says that russia was aiming a critical infrastructure, and military targets, in the western part of the country. russia is now denying reports of a fire at the ministry of defense building, in central moscow. that, according to state media, who first reported that emergency services were at the scene after a blaze broke out on a balcony. local officials say, no fire has been detected, but video from moscow shows, and you can see there, smoke surrounding the building. a woman can be heard complaining about a horrible burning smell. this is coming as u.s. intelligence now suggests,
