most spectacular views in the city, 100 story high observation deck. beautiful view behind you. what are you expecting tonight? >> a tremendous view. i watched the macy's fourth of july fireworks since i was a kid but always from the couch, on tv. i'm excited to be 100 stories up with the best view of new york city i've ever seen. we're at edge on hudson yards, highest sky deck in the western hemisphere and just high enough to get over my mild fear of heights, the view is that good. 9:30 the skyline will be hit up with fireworks, behind me and behind the empire state building behind me as well. we have a bunch of new things. brand new effects, a waving flag in red, white and blue, and 60,000 fireworks shells. 1,000 feet up in the air.

valencia in music city. nick, set the scene for us. >> yeah, wow what a scene it is here in nashville. happy fourth of july to you dana and -- . it is just a electric -- these folks have been treated to live music all night long, as well as live fireworks. we're gonna stick around for that. this is going to be one of the biggest fireworks shows in the country. not just in the south, but what goes into all of that. -- tells us that 40,000 pounds of fireworks will be used, about 200 miles of wire have been laid out. it took the city 11 days to set this up. and at the center of it all, are eight pyrotechnics, they are hunkered down in the middle of this, launching the fireworks into the sky. synchronizing the fireworks show, with the nashville philharmonic. and guys, i've got to tell you. when i got the news that i was going to be part of this assignment, i was thrilled. because our cnn viewers know this, correspondents, where the battle guys. we show in the worst days of peoples lives. but today, it's one of the greatest days in the year here, on the 4th of july.
