fluids and pain medications. sara so another mosquito-borne illness has caused some issues in massachusetts telling me what's going on there that's right. >> eastern equine encephalitis, or also known as triple e. they are seeing a heightened risk of this, especially in the town of plymouth, massachusetts, sara so much so that they've closed their municipal parks at night. do to this illness. now it's not as common as west nile virus and estimated 11 human cases are reported each year in the u.s. and it doesn't always cause symptoms. but when symptoms do develop, they include fever headache, body aches but also neurologic disease. in some cases, you can develop inflammation of the brain, which is why this is concerning. but sara, when it comes to west nile virus, triple e, these are all good reminders for us to do the best we can to avoid mosquito bites. that's how these mosquito borne diseases are spread. so

where repellent went outdoors, where loose fitting clothing make sure you have your window screens in place. some mosquitos don't come inside. and of course, if you have a mosquito bite and you develop symptoms a few days later, talk to your doctor. you definitely want to pay close attention to this around this time of year, sara i don't mind bugs, but i hate mosquitoes really, truly hate them even more. jacqueline howard, thank you so much. appreciate it. a new hour of cnn, new central starts right now the sprint toward election day is on both candidates planning a battleground blitz this week as the trump campaign is promising a campaign on steroids. >> also this morning, new presidential debate, drama brewing ahead of the september showdown. also, flash flooding turned deadly inside grand canyon national park. hikers forced across rivers and formed human chains to get to safety. and new this aggregate ready for a hectic holiday at the

airports and on the roads across country. i don't know if you've heard that before, but it happens millions expected to travel this labor day weekend i'm omar jimenez with sara sidner, kate and john are out today. this is cnn new central all right, everyone, let the debate's about the debate begin for the rules with just over two weeks, i'm sorry. so there are critical face-to-face showdown. it now seems former president trump and vice president harris's campaign this morning have reached a brand new stalemate of sorts over exactly how the debate we'll go down, trump, going in our brand new social media tear. as kamala harris's team is now making the case for debate microphones to stay on the whole time. lucky for us, we've got cnn's alayna katrina and priscilla alvarez, who have the new reporting on what each side is saying, right? alayna, i want to go to you first. what is the latest from team trump right? >> well, you're exactly right, omar, because it does seem like
5:03 am
the trump campaign and the harris campaign have reached somewhat of an impasse as it relates to the debate rules for that abc debate on september 10, part of that is about the microphones being muted. remember back in june for that june 27, cnn debate between trump and biden, there are a whole host of different rules that they had agreed to including having the microphones be turned off when one and of the candidates was not speaking, the trump campaign, we're told still wants that rule to be in place. however, the harris campaign is now saying this is a new candidate. we are different campaign and we want the mics to be on for the extent of the debate. so there's some behind the scenes back and forth over this. i do want to read for you what we heard from jason miller. he's a senior trump campaign advisor on all of this. he said, quote, enough with the games, we accepted the abc debate under the exact same teterms as the cnn debate, the harris camp after having already agreed to the cnn
5:04 am
rules, asked for a seated debate with notes and opening statements men's of course, we'll have you i have priscilla fact check some of that, and then he added we said no changes to the agreed upon rules. now, all of this also comes. i'd like to note as the former president himself kind of posted on social media yesterday, throwing doubt into whether or not he may actually try to pull out of this debate he wrote quote, why would i do the debate against kamala harris on that network? he said that as he continued to, he said he was watching the sunday show yesterday on abc with slamming some of the key people at the network so all of this kind of throwing questions into what exactly is this abc debate going to look like? but i do just want to add omar, that this isn't entirely surprising. we know that the trump campaign has been very critical of the debate rolls in the past, we saw that in the leadup to the cnn debate. we're also seeing the former president himself do exactly the same, same thing as last time as well, which is trying
5:05 am
to throw doubt on whether the debate will be fair. our to argue that the network is biased, to argue that it's, the cards are stacked against them. this is exactly what we're seeing him do with this debate as well, trying to pre-but whatever is going to happen and i can tell you from my conversations with donald trump's senior advisers, they privately acknowledged that they are more concerned about this debate than they were about the one with biden-harris isn't entirely different opponent. they're not exactly sure what this is going to look like. so some of that is also, i think contributing to all of this behind the scenes. >> yeah. look a lot to keep an eye on that front. i want to bring in priscilla into this because obviously a whole aspect of this is what is the harris campaign saying takes two to tango here. so what are they saying? what are their concerns with this debate coming up? >> omar, i'm told that the only remaining dispute in this drama, this back-and-forth is whether the mics are going to be on the harris campaign wants them to be on. of course, the
5:06 am
debate rules when they were set with a different candidate that was president joe biden. now the harris campaign says that they want these mics to be on in, a statement, a senior campaign officials saying the following, quote, our understanding is that trump's handlers prefer the muted microphone because they don't think their candidate can act presidential for 90 minutes on his own. the statement goes on to say that they don't think he can handle himself against vice president harris without the benefit of a mute button. so they are needling former president donald trump a little bit here, but they also are pushing back against some of what you heard there from the trump campaign that the kit that the harris campaign wanted the two candidates to be seated for him for there to be notes. they say that is not the case and while they are open to having opening statements, that is not something that they are insisting on. again, the bottom line here is that this feud is about the mics being on or off over the course of the debate now i will also note that the
5:07 am
next couple of weeks i've been told are very focused on debate preparations. this is something that the vice president already started earlier this month and something that she is going to be doubling down on in the days to come. of course recognizing that this is likely a large audience to tune in for this debate. and it gives her the opportunity to go toe to toe against former president donald trump and while she does do that, there will be trouble, perhaps on as much as earlier this month, this week, for example, she will go to georgia with her vice president presidential nominee tim waltz that is a state of course, that president biden only won by less than 12,000 votes. so it is going to be one of the battlegrounds that is closely watched this election cycle. and one that they are using to kick off after the democratic national convention. omar and priscilla obviously, one major question that, that has been circulating over the course of the quick launch of her campaign. now post-dnc is prior to this debate, will she sit down for an interview and
5:08 am
answer some questions over potentially some of her her changed past positions. do we know the lake he just on that front at all if there are any plans on the books, even they have not yet provided any details on when exactly that will happen. but as you know, to the messaging from the campaign was that there would be an interview before the end of the month. of course, the month ends this week and we still don't yet have any clarity on when or if she will be doing that sit down interview, but certainly that is an observation that many have made because a lot of the campaign over the last month has been very choreographed with these stops, these rallies, the democratic national convention while xi has spoken to press over the course of those rallies and gaggles off his rallies end. she has not yet done that formal sit down interview, which would be less choreographed simply because it isn't interview. so you would have the journalists asking the questions there. so we're still waiting to see if we get more
5:09 am
details on that. but certainly the timeline that was provided earlier, this month is coming now too. so close lot to keep an eye on, especially as both of these camps end up heating up their campaign blitz, i guess it's fair to say. >> so alvarez alayna treene. thanks to you both sir. >> thank you, omar, to continue the conversation with us now, political anchor for spectrum news and host of the big deal with errol louis errol, louis himself. i do want to talk about the debate. is the debate going to happen? you've got these small things back-and-forth, but ultimately, do you see both of them doing whatever the rules are doing it? >> i'm pretty sure they're going to have a debate. donald trump needs it because he's kind of falling behind in the polls and kamala harris would love to have it so it's a great big, open platform. i think the issue by the way is not so much over or the most important issue is not so much whether or not the mics we'll beyond but whether or not there's going to be fact checking by the moderators under the cnn rules as we all saw donald trump could just kinda make up all kinds of different things and then it
5:10 am
puts his adversary in a very difficult position. you have to refute the lies that this man is telling. and then you kind of lose because the ability to make your own points, or you just let those lies stand and it didn't work out at all for joe biden. >> it did not. and i think sr. was fact-checking online, not leaving it up to the candidate to fact check but as you said, maybe put one of the candidates on the backfoot at there are a lot of lives being told i do want to ask you about kamala harris and her plans for an interview. of course, the media. i mean, she can come on this show any day just note, but of course, we in the media would like to sit down with her and interview her and talked to her about policy and what her her detailed plans are, and asked about some of the things that she said in the past that seemed to have changed, but it hasn't worked for her because right now, the polling is sort of showing yet, people don't know exactly where she stands on everything. but she's still up. >> she's she's raising money. she's getting endorsements. she's ahead in the polls. no particular need to change
5:11 am
anything. by the way. i mean, there's plenty to work with right now the dirty little secret of all of this, we should share with your viewers, sara is that the big sit-down interview really is a way to signal to the rest of the press a lot of the regional and local press, what are the issues? what has she said and so forth. >> on the first night of of the democratic national convention, let's remind everybody a 92 page platform was passed by the convention. >> it commits to all kinds of different things in the area of environment fintan in labor, in a public option for health care and so forth. she's now officially committed to those people could go out and start working on that right now. they don't have to wait for the big interview. plenty to work with right now. >> let's talk about donald trump. donald trump's advisers saying that the campaign is going to be trump on steroids. what do you think that means? because some people think he's already been on steroids with the with the way in which he has conducted himself at some of these rallies. well it's an interesting kind of tell, but because it seems to be, they seem to be suggesting that as
5:12 am
the oldest person ever to run for this office, that's 78-years-old as a major party candidate, who has kept a pretty slow schedule, played a lot of golf, but not so much in the way of campaigning it's really going to have to ramp it up. >> so i don't know if it's on steroids. i think he's going to have to get into the game. if you look at what of the harris-walz team is about to do the bus tour? the constant rallies. you remember that show of strength during the dnc when they had not one but two rallies at the same time even donald trump has never attempted that. >> yeah, the two rallies were both. there were 15,000 people in the same place where the rnc was being held? definitely some shade thrown there. and the dnc at the same time, which is obviously completely filled, really interesting to see them do that because they know that it annoys him crowd size, or is it? big big? >> he's got to get his energy up. i mean, you know, frankly he's he's kind of been falling behind. they didn't anticipate this. they're still recovering from the shock of having basically pushed joe biden out of the race. >> and i think he's actually said that he regrets it in some

avoided a huge escalation in their conflict to a wider war for now. but over the weekend, things got tense as both sides launched rockets at one another has block claiming it was able to fire 320 rockets and drones at israel, despite the money jordi being intercepted while israel says it carried out preemptive strikes in lebanon all this while a gaza ceasefire and hostage deal is hanging in the balance. cnn international diplomatic editor, nic robertson live in tel aviv with the very latest what is the sense there on the israeli side as to what is going to happen next when it comes to iran and when it comes to hezbollah this certainly is the perception that iran is still intends to strike israel at some point. >> the messaging clearly from hezbollah's attempt to strike them over the weekend is that the strike was a failure. that's the israel's position, saying that hezbollah didn't reach any of the military times
5:19 am
targets either in the north or in the center of israel that they claim to have reached both sides, have sort of taken a pause for assessment, but both sides hezbollah is claiming it as a victory on their side. israel certainly claiming it as such on both sides saying that there's an option trinity to escalate again. and then lower level strikes going on today, israel's head, a hamas commander in southern lebanon today, that appeared to be the target so the ongoing for tat nature of what was happening before the lower level still continues across the border. but in many ways from israel's perspective, what appears to have happened over the weekend, similar to what happened and in april when iran tried to launch that massive strike against israel. israel was able to defend itself adequately and very well, perhaps better than oedipus, even certainly better than iran that may be
5:20 am
perceived. and the same seems to have happened over the weekend with hezbollah. from hezbollah's perspective, to ratchet up again and they would have to catch israel by surprise to stop a preemptive strike. and they would have to know that they could be more successful. otherwise, it's going to be done damaging, damaging for them. so i think again its tense, its ongoing in many ways was sort of back to where we were a week ago with, the expectation escalations are possible, but at the moment, sort of in a period of a period of calm from what happened at the weekend all right nic robertson. thank you so much this off course all happening amid ceasefire negotiations that are very, very complex. appreciate your time and your crew there in tel aviv for us alright ahead, people crossed rivers, formed human chains to try to escape. the deadly flooding at the grand canyon and donald trump is facing new pressure this is him from his former national security

5:26 am
died and tried to pin all this on kamala harris, who was a part of the biden administration when this deadly withdrawal occurred in afghanistan donald trump has always viewed veterans and service members as props, not as patriots. and i think somebody should ask him while he's there at the cemetery whether he thinks those honored dead are losers and suckers as well you heard the are using his words against him, where he talked about when he was talking about the medal of freedom let me ask you about his next move. >> he is going to speak at the national guard conference kamala harris has also been invited. i don't think she is going should she go i'll defer to the harris campaign on her schedule. >> i'm focused on actions, not on words. what we have seen with donald trump over his political career is consistent actions to denigrate veterans.
5:27 am
he has attacked gold star families. he has resisted the idea of wounded veterans walking in parades with him. he has stood against everything veterans have fought for by engaging in sycophancy with autocrats like vladimir putin and kim jong un he has threatened to cut veterans benefits. this is not an individual who can be trusted as commander in chief and don't just take my word for it listen all the former flag officers who served in the first trump administration who have issued collective warnings that he cannot be trusted to protect american national security. most recently, of course, general mcmaster, who's come out with a scathing and timely reminder of the dangers of a second trump administration i do want to get to that because lieutenant general mcmaster did write a book and he's been doing some interviews in this blistering and quite insightful account of what he experienced in the white house. >> he, he describes meetings in the oval office as exercises in competitive sycophancy during
5:28 am
which trump's advisers would flatter the president by saying things like your instincts are always right or no one has ever been treated so badly by the press than you mean? well, donald trump would say, according to mcmaster outlandish things like, why don't we just bomb the drugs in mexico, or why don't we take out the whole north korean army during one of their parades. when you look at the words coming out of, he was in the administration, he was privy to these conversations how do you think it is possible that there are so many people in the public still want donald trump to be their president well reminder that every time donald trump has been on the ballot, either expressly or implicitly, 16, 18, 2022, americans as a country have rejected him, including in 2016 with a majority vote on the popular standard went against him. >> so he is not a popular individual. and the reason he's not a popular individual is that americans deepen their bones understand that he puts
5:29 am
himself before his country and those competitive sycophancy conversations that you alluded to. we know what that is. it's the same conversations happening in venezuela and russia and china. it's what dictators do to embed themselves in the organs of state. and i think the critical reminder from general mcmaster is does that a second trump administration would be even more dangerous than the first. and here's why. during the first trump administration, there were two groups of advisers. there were the sycophants, as you said, but then there were also individuals who put country and constitution before the president's personal interests and told them what he didn't want to hear. in a second administration, those individuals will not be there. he is going to embed his own courtiers at the white house at the department of justice in the military, in the social security administration, and the entire apparatus of the federal government will become a fiefdom for donald trump. >> i do want to ask you about this attack from someone who was in the military, j.d. vance, who served and he wanted his first things he did was attack tim walz's service 24
5:30 am
years in the national guard. is this a fair argument for him to make that walz he said abandoned his troops when they were sent eventually to iraq no, it's not, it's desperate, despicable, swift voting of tim walz, honorable 24 years of service. >> he deployed multiple times disaster zones, made a decision to retire well before his battalion got notice of i'm going to iraq, wrestled with that decision and decided he could do more good for veterans in congress, which he then did. he became the ranking democrat on the veterans affairs committee and help expand access to the gi bill. tim walz as a proud track record of service. >> all j.d. vance knows how to do is insulting attack and that's really just a playbook for republicans. he's attacked women he's attacked the police. now he's attacking of veteran. he has no positive vision to campaign on. and i think americans are just getting sick of this bellyaching and lamenting about the past. and they're seeing
5:31 am
the contrast. but kamala harris talking about the future i do want to ask you, just as a veteran of afghanistan war, what you did make of the withdrawal and how that went because it was deadly for americans, it was deadly for afghans as well. it was it was also the right decision to make to leave afghanistan. joe biden had the moral courage to make a decision that previous presidents had refused to make because of some costs bias and group think that war had no political end game. and the first thing that marine officer learns is that all war is an extension of politics by other means national government and kabul had no agenda and no capacity to build a nation. and so americans were left holding the bag and we saw that when the afghan president fled the country within the first 24 hours ultimately, i don't think there is a single serious national security adviser out there who would look at the situation today and say, boy, i wish we had 50 or 100,000 americans engaged in war in
5:32 am

also tribal members. some of the people that were out there hiking and that share their experience and their videos saying that they had essentially been yelled at to get to higher ground. they had to run up in a matter of minutes. they got into groups. they formed human chains. they did everything they could to get to that higher ground. and avoid these flash floods. it's a monsoon that then triggered the flash flooding and change the scenario very, very quickly. it was chaotic. the governor of arizona, katie hobbs actually had to activate the national shuttle guard and they used these blackhawk helicopters to get people out of the grand canyon. take a listen to what a guards member had to say and how they describe this situation. >> uh-60 blackhawk has the ability to move out people quickly. >> we consider said about 11 people in the aircraft, not including the crew members so the nice thing about being able
5:40 am
to provide that support was being able to start moving people rapidly. it was surprising when i got down there and to see that cheers that came from the people who are getting picked up so you hear it there. >> it was that relief to be getting picked up, to be getting rescued because it was just so scary for a lot of these people that were out there. the area was shut down to tourist and there was a tribal village that was also shut down, a village that was about eight miles below the rim of the canyon. so authorities just really trying to figure out how to get people back in that area safely. and a lot of the tourists saying they learned the lesson and they're not going back during monsoon season, sara it's terrifying. >> it goes from completely dry and cracked and you would never expect this to a flash flood that comes so quickly. i'm so sorry to hear there was loss of life. camila bernal. thank you so much. appreciate it, omar. thanks. >> well, sara, we're also following a devastating story out of alabama this morning, a morgan academy high school

week, riding the wave of a convention that got democrats fired up. cnn's victor blackwell spoke to some black men about what they took away from harris is historic convention speaks. and what issues they want to see her tackle next do you believe the polls that show that black men in a substantial way are shifting two former president trump i was in barbara south today. right. and there's there's this real kind of resolve that a lot of folks who are younger millennials are having, which is, hey, i'm make a little bit of money. i want to keep my money right and the country has ever really worked for a black man. so what do i have to lose? and so black men are beginning to vote with their pocketbooks and i think that that's misguided. but i think with i think the democratic party has failed to demonstrate what it has to offer the black men specifically, i don't want a black man as policy it's
5:50 am
policy. i want to policy that's going to be applied across the board. instance. i'm black, i can benefit some me understand capitalism and understanding how to navigate never going to get a black man as policy. >> what is the i love bit of sex here sexism is as pervasive in this country as racism is. do you think it's going to hurt her with voters, men, black men specifically? >> you know, the black community for us, we're used to women being in leadership so for us, i don't think it's going to be a big deal. >> i will say that i agree and disagree i think it may be a problem because a lot of african american business particular black, black male business, feel a little bit threatened because there was a huge movement when it comes to black woman business.
5:51 am
>> and so normal when we shouldn't let them divide us that particular way. but the movement is so great for african american women. and we support them. we won't that. >> and sometimes i think african american men can feel like they're outpacing u.s when we should talk about zach. >> same time. >> how relevant is her support for a woman's right to make medical decisions about her body this is the woman, the body. so she ship bear to dictate terms of her body. >> the lawyer made life. you made light in your have to value life so kamala wants to take life. >> there's so much that we don't know as men that we can, that we don't have the privilege joe pine on but we will never have a period. we wouldn't never go through childbirth, even fix our mouse. that comment on how i don't care what god said it women have the right to govern their bodies. and it's time to shut our miles immigration has been
5:52 am
an attack line from republicans against the vice president. she talked about it in the speech. >> i know we can live up so our proud heritage as a nation of immigrants and reform, our broken immigration system and it's coming over here. >> they were taking black jobs. >> they're not taking black people jobs. so by jobs, they're taken indigent jobs low pain jobs, working in dobbs that most people in most americans do not want to take all right, we're now just 70 days out from the november election. >> you just heard from several men share their thoughts on the race, but now that the conversations now that the convention's, i should say are behind us, how has the momentum shifted and what are other voters saying to discuss this, let's bring in frank luntz, pollster and communications strategist. thanks for being here. look, i know that one of your favorite questions to ask because they pollster is what
5:53 am
issue or concern keeps you up at night you've done a few interesting focus groups over the last few weeks. is there an answer from some of those folks on that front that is stood out to you the most it's there is. >> i just want to compliment you on the previous segment if you really want to understand the black community, go to the black, particularly black men, go to the black barber shop. and you're going to hear everything every opinion, and there's no holds-barred. there's no editing nationwide. there is one issue that's still trump's every other, and that's affordability. and said this on your show before. it's not inflation nobody understands that theory behind it. what they care about is the price of food and fuel, housing and healthcare the second issue and it's still trailing is immigration, but it's broader than just what's happening in the border is a sense of safety, security, and whether we're in control of the people in our country for younger women, the top issue is abortion. does is your focus
5:54 am
group showed the idea for younger women that no one tells them what they must do is a big deal. and that's going to bring them to the polls and everything else. so security tips on on taxes, on tips, none of that matters it's those three issues that are going to have the biggest impact on election day i think more broadly, one of the things that you're touching on here is just sort of the general outlook on either what the future of the country is going to hold, general outlook on safety, ability to put groceries on the table a food on the table, things like that. >> and i know you recently moderator focus group with 15 undecided young voters between ages of 18 and 27. and i want to get into more of the details of that in a moment. but one part that stood out to me was specifically the question of how optimistic or pessimistic are you about america from zero to ten only one of the 15 said anything above a 6, four of the 15 route of five, everyone
5:55 am
else? four and below. what were your impressions of why? >> why is climate why is job availability? why is the economy in general, and how difficult it is to afford the first house, to afford to live or do what you want to do. the why is varies. but i will tell you that it's not just among younger voters nationwide the percentage of people think the country's have often the wrong track is that modern time highs even though the economy is relatively strong, even though the things are going relatively well compared to previous times. we have become a nation of pessimists. we no longer think that future is going to be better than the past. let me give you one polling data point by two to one, americans think their kids are going to have a worse quality of life than them. that's never happened in american history before. that significant so when you're looking at, at this race here, alright, we're on the other
5:56 am
side of the convention's, we know who the nominees are at this point. we know that they're heading out to battleground states this week given what you have seen how do you break into some of that pessimism? how do you change some of the minds and outlooks over, over what's ahead. where do you start if for these candidates? >> it's awesome. the first person to ask that number one, you acknowledge it you acknowledged you empathize with people. number to give them a detailed plan of action for what you're going to do in your opening days, weeks, months? and then years, and number three, you prove to them that you've had a track record of dealing with these problems in the past, which is why they should trust you to deal with them in the future. >> let me emphasize, neither candidate is doing this. neither candidate is really capturing the zeitgeist that's going on right now. and it's completely open ended. they should be going after this because that's how they prove their own credibility, which
5:57 am
obviously is important yeah. frank luntz your work as always interesting, but especially in these next few months, it's going to be even more so. and i hope i hope some of these campaigns are paying attention because you just laid out some great insight really appreciate the time thank you. all right, sir. all right. thanks. omar new this morning, if you plan on traveling this labor day weekend, you may need a backup plan. sorry, guys. millions of americans are expected to hit the highways and airports as they head out to mark the unofficial end of summer, cnn's tom foreman has more from washington, dc. just how busy is it going to get and let me just tell you right next to you were saying like someone lied hang on the floor at an airport, so it doesn't give me good vibes. >> well that person was tired no, i don't think you need a backup plan. >> i don't know. you need a street egypt plan is what you need travel is going to be according to aaa up about 9% compared to last labor day.
5:58 am
that's domestic travel in united states, partially because it's gonna be about 2% cheaper gas prices are a little bit down, a little bit easier to get out there. big, big targets out there are seattle and up to alaska. a lot of people doing that travel the thing is that if you pick the right times, it can be better, maybe better, depending on where you are. the worst times seemed to be thursday afternoon from from 2:00 to 6:00. and they say that on friday afternoon from 1:00 to 7:30 p.m. those are bad times to travel. that's going to have the biggest part, but that again, is it's where you are right are you in one of those travel battleground states? are battleground places where you know, there's a lot of traffic around, a lot of metro areas on a normal weekend, there's a lot of traffic, so be smart about that. be careful about that. and if you're going to the airport give yourself some extra time. tsa is expecting about 17 million screenings. this coming weekend, 17 million, 17 million times somebody saying you got everything out of your pockets. that's going to happen to 17 million tons of water so yeah,
5:59 am
it's a very big weekend. a lot of people trying to get an last hurrah before they put away the white shoes and go back to school to be fair, sometimes i just want to lie on the floor here to rest because i am also died but that probably wouldn't do it with all my career i mean i do want to ask you about this cyber attack that we're hearing about in the port of seattle and the seattle tacoma international airport. >> what can you tell us about that well, it's kind of a mystery. >> it happened early saturday morning and knocked out a lot of the display screens for people seeing where their flights are. it seems to did the baggage system some other computer systems? it did not stop. a lot of flights that were a few flights. it didn't go it did make some lines longer. and at one 1.1 of the airline's was suggesting if you don't want to check bags maybe you shouldn't because we're having some baggage issues. they still haven't sorted out exactly what this thing is. they think it's a cyber attack, but they haven't proven yet, if so, where it came from or what the goal was with it. but, you know, after he had that big crowdstrike
6:00 am
thing some weeks back, which wasn't an attack. it was just a software accident and effector mistake. there's a lot of a lot of ears perking up at this. people look around saying, what is, what is this, what happened in seattle? and how do we get to the bottom of it, especially with a big travel weekend coming? coming up especially that let us hope none of that happens that everyone gets third destination with maybe appellate tom foreman. >> thank you so much. always a pleasure. another hour of cnn new central starts right now all right welcome everyone. a brand new debate about the presidential debate has many wondering if they will even be a debate at all. and his political roy rage, a thing for now, have the new reporting on trump's shifting campaign strategy. and new this morning, the death toll is now rising in ukraine after russia unleashes when it's one of its heaviest strikes months hundreds of drones and missiles launched
