6:00 am
trump, he is exclusive. he doesn't want women or minorities and positions. he wants white men. only. his message is one of hatred and anger. whereas with harris, it is actually the opposite. it's of hope. so i completely, totally disagree with that hypothesis. i believe that we should be asking ourselves and the parents of our veterans and our veterans and military, do we want a commander in chief that does not value our service to our country and quite frankly calls us again suckers and losers really quickly. >> why do you think i was looking back? pass in the past elections, donald trump had has had strong support from veterans in 2020 he and 54% of veterans support nationally according to a cnn poll, more than joe biden. why do you think that is then given the message that you're trying to send there's a couple of things. >> number one is that i believe trump himself is actually alienating the military. >> when i first joined the
6:01 am
military in the mid 70s, it is my i mean, i don't have data to back it up, but i have a gut check that perhaps it was 70% conservative and the rest would be independent and liberal. >> and i will tell you that in my opinion is now probably 60% liberal and 40% conservative. certain and the reason why i say this is our values and military are to treat others with dignity and respect. trump does not treat people with dignity and respect. anybody who opposes him, he calls them names, he degrades them including by the way, his previous vice president, and also mark esper, who was in my unit before 911 and also general milley this is just a sad indictment of trump that he is alienating members of the military to include senior officers. >> i keep conversation to be having as this campaign continues, major general randy manner. thank you. a new hour of cnn, new central starts now
6:02 am
counting down to the first time donald trump and kamala harris swollen ever meet maybe the last time. >> new details on their different plans for the big debates new this morning, the mother of the suspected georgia school shooter are speaking out about the tragedy, which she says she told the school the morning it happened and strong winds and excessive heat warnings stoking raging wildfires i'm john berman with sara sidner and kate bolduan. this is cnn new central there is no debate about this. >> this is a huge day in american politics. vice president kamala harris and former president donald trump will debate one another tonight. and the rest of the world will be watching. but americans mostly is just hours away from this historic presidential debate inside the national constitution center in
6:03 am
philadelphia. it's a faceoff. the new york times figures will be quote, one of the highest 90 minutes in american politics in generations. this morning, we're learning new details on the new lines of attack. trump is playing adding to say, this has team harris is right now readying 1,300 debate watch parties across all 50 states. let's get right out to eva mckend, who is at the debate site for us this morning. what can you tell us this morning about preps that are underwhelmed? >> well, sara, part of the strategy seems to be to get under the former president's skin, to lean into some of these perceived insecurities and they're doing this with a new ad featuring president obama, where they needle trump for being obsessed with crowd sizes and this is part of a broader argument that the harris campaign is trying to make that trump is principally concerned about his own issues, his own grievances, while the vice president is concerned about the issues in fronting everyday americans take a look
6:04 am
at this ad here's a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems. she had a big crowd audit crowd, this weird obsession with crowd sizes and sara, you know, this is going to be airing here in philadelphia as well as in west palm beach in on fox news. >> so they are very deliberately trying to enjoy sure. that trump sees this. but listen the vice president is also going to be tasked with outlining her policy vision for america many americans are still getting to know her and. >> that is one of the things that she will have to contend with on that debate stage, even mckend. thank you so much. there for us outside of the arena where it will have she will be in the room where it
6:05 am
happens. we will be at home watching it with everybody else. >> indeed, the room where it happens would actually think was in philadelphia really. inherently musical. all right, new this morning, perhaps anticipating harris leading into a role as a prosecutor, the trump campaign released a list of 47 former prosecutors who they say are endorsing donald trump. cnn's alayna treene is in philadelphia. alayna, what else does the trump team had planned? >> well, just to speak to that letter, john, i think it's clear, you know, kind of previewing that donald trump is going to try and attack harris's record as a prosecutor. i know that that's going to be one of the lines of attacks he tries to sneak in there tonight while on the debate stage, but other lines of attack, luck the trump camp being held a call yesterday with reporters that included jason miller, a senior adviser, but also tulsi gabbard, the former democratic congresswoman, who has recently endorsed donald trump, is working with his campaign and is helping him prepare specifically for this debate as
6:06 am
well as republican congressman matt gaetz. and they walk through a couple of attacks that they plan to have. donald trump focus on. that includes the u.s. troops, withdrawal from afghanistan. her record on the u.s. border, as well as her voting record. and specifically some of her tie-breaking votes as the president of the senate or as vice president. i want you to take a listen to what jason miller said. >> she owns every failure of the harris-biden administration, you can't talk about turning the page when you're the one who created our current nightmare you just can't you can't prepare for president trump there's just no way to do it. it's imagine like a boxer trying to prepare for floyd mayweather muhammad ali. you just, you don't know what angled are going to come at you with. you don't know what style of contrast that they are going to deliver? >> so a few things there, john, a one is that of course they are trying to tie a kamala harris to joe biden and specifically the policies
6:07 am
beneath that have been done under the biden administration, but also you heard him saying that donald trump is unpredictable. now that is something that, i know that there also trying it to reconcile behind the scenes and make him a little bit more predictable from the campaigns point of view that means, you know, working with him to really stay on message on the issues they want him to be talking about that includes immigration, crime, the economy, all areas where they believe donald trump polls better than harris. but there also, when i talked to many of his allies more concerned, less about his answers on the substance, and more about his tone and temperament. we know that donald trump tends to get aggressive in his attacks. he veers into personal attacks despite being advised against that by his team, they are really trying to keep him on message tonight to not have him fall for any of the harris chris setups to make him get under his skin? that's definitely gonna be something i think we'll be watching for tonight and whether or not donald trump can show that kind of restraint. john alayna
6:08 am
treene, in philadelphia, nice to see you this morning. >> kate. >> thank you. >> joining us right now is cnn senior political commentator and former senior adviser to president obama david axelrod, what are you thinking about as we're heading into his big night? what do you think about? >> well, i thought was kind of funny that jason miller, first of all, you usually try and downplay expectations. candidate, he's turned his guy into mohammed ali and floyd meriweather. and i think if i'm the harris campaign, i'm thinking go ahead and knock yourself out because that's what but trump tends to do sometimes he's very good at this. he's been, this will be his seventh nobody's ever done more. and he had 14 years on television before that. he knows how to command a stage. and the question for harris is her main mission is to talk to the american people, share where she wants to lead the country, share a little more of how her background not just as vice president, but her entire career points to the things that she's committed to and not let trump dictate the terms
6:09 am
of the debate with his antics. she's going to need to push him back. she's probably got a few lines in her pocket, but it's it's going to be interesting, you know, she been just a mix all my sports metaphors. she's kind of been hitting off a tie for the last six weeks. she's done great but largely and speech and rally settings. now, the pitchers are going to come high and hard and curved balls and she has been prepping rigorously. i'm told probably been exposed to what she's what they expect her to see. and we'll see what happens when 75 million people are watching. >> yeah, nbd, no big deal i spoke to senior adviser to trump's campaign. >> last hour, and she leaned into a couple of things kind of looking ahead to the night. one, i asked if she agreed with nikki haley that it hurts donald trump with all types of women voters, democrat and republican women voters. when he calls kamala harris dumb she responded, you have to call a
6:10 am
spade fade, called her incompetent, and then also said this, let me play this for you, david i absolutely think that she is incapable of doing the job that she is auditioning for. >> i believe that americans know that she isn't capable of doing the job that she's auditioning for because she is currently in the white house and failing inflation is higher than it has been since before she took office. housing is unaffordable. the southern border is open. we are in wars abroad. she is an absolute failure and she is dangerously liberal and that is what we will prove tonight. >> and we've heard this in the reporting treaty. her like the incumbent saying, if you haven't fixed the problems in the last three-and-a-half years, what it's on you, how do you how can she successfully respond to this you know, i think this is really an interesting question because vice presidents, i mean, i served in the white house. >> vice presidents don't make policy there in the room for sure their voices are heard, but they don't make the decisions. they don't set the policy. you don't hear these
6:11 am
guys talking much about the pence years away and so the question is how much americans described those policies? to her? there's some indication in polling you know, the times polls suggested that this is an issue, but she does have to chart her own course and say this is where i want to lead this is my policy. and she can embrace those things that she feels were achievements and say, i was proud the help on those. but she shouldn't own them. she should not own any of it because she's not the one who's made these decisions and you're getting it this, this kind of perception among voters that we've seen in polling so far, that they need to hear more, need to learn more about harris, the numbers have shown it it's never an either or but if i could pose it as an either or if it is an either or tonight, either she makes the case against donald trump or she makes the case for herself. >> which one doesn't have to be. >> well, i think 80% for herself. i think she can use
6:12 am
trump as a foil because remember she, the thing they're trying to beat back is her has changed him as the kind of embattled incumbent. she needs to at once, a display where she wants to lead, but also depicted as a change, not just from where we are today, but also from the trump years. he's been the dominant political figure for a decade and there's a lot about his politics. people don't like about his approach that people don't like. she wants to she ought to say, if you're tired of this, let's turn the page. let's let's let's build a better future together tone we talk about tonal. >> it's no small thing though, when you're on the stage for 90 minutes and the facial expressions and the reaction we will see it's always easy to comment from the sidelines. it's tough when you're up there and you're the one having to execute. so we'll see exactly, but we will do our level best being monday morning quarterback. that's the fine exactly david.
6:13 am
>> thank you. it's great to sleep. >> exactly. kate this morning, new bodycam footage of the moment police handcuff dolphins, star tyreek hill, shocked tim to the ground, just hours before opening day kickoff, he was on his way to play in the game. and both house republicans and democrats issuing duel playing documents on the deadly u.s. withdrawal from afghanistan. john kirby joins us from the white house with his response to both of those reports disturbing false claims about haitian migrants and pets being spread by the trump campaign and republican nominee for vice president kamala harris, donald trump, the debate. everyone's been waiting for follows cnn for complete coverage and exclusive pre and post-debate analysis of cnn special the abc, abc presidential debate. tonight at nine eastern on cnn and streaming on max. >> when it comes to amgen life changing medical breakthrough every second counts. but

know, just have a great sunday i guess the officers they felt like i wasn't doing it on a timer. but i was doing it. but i mean, i'm i'm i'm still shell-shocked from the man. i'm embarrassed cnn's carlos suarez is live for us on the story in miami, there are a lot of questions here when you see what happened in that encounter. >> most officers don't necessarily handle a traffic violation. this way. >> what happened, carlos yeah, that's right. >> sara. and as a result, we know that an internal affairs investigation is already underway, but this morning, of course, we're not only hearing from hill, but as you said, we're also getting a look at just how this encounter played. doubt with police or the miami-dade police department, they released nearly two hours of body-camera video capturing that encounter between hill and officers. now you're about to see parts of that encounter that begin with an officer knocking on the driver's side
6:20 am
window of hill sports car. now hill, who was about to turn into the players entrance at hard rock stadium when he takes issue with the officer's actions and well, as you're about to see things go down from there at one point, a second, miami dolphins player who had stopped to see what was going on. he's also handcuffed and later let go here now is part of that body camera video keep it down window down if you were in the down, that mean what he built window down? >> come on. i get you out of the car i say modified get out of the car get out of the fight right up car. >> get out yeah what get the rest hello well, that is right. >> you know who that is not the

affairs investigation, sara and i know we also heard from the coach as well, who is really distraught and disturbed by what he saw happened to one of his players, carlos suarez. thank you so much for that live report there from miami for escape let's have some new details this morning out of georgia. georgia investigators have now released body camera footage from an encounter last year with the teenager accused in the deadly school shooting from last week, you see a video of it here. the video shows sheriffs, deputies speaking with him alongside his father after being tipped off to concerning posts online and also this morning, the suspect's mother is speaking out about her call with the school the morning of the shooting counselor said, well, i wanted to let you know that earlier this morning one of kohl's teachers had sent me an email that said colt had been making references to school shootings between my feelings, the text messages and now this
6:23 am
email, you need to go run to the classroom cnn's ryan young is following this from for us live in georgia. >> what's the latest you're picking up? brian? >> yes. so tough to hear all these details. the red flags that came out earlier, something that we need to make absolutely clear though this interview comes from jackson county, which is a neighboring county, to barrow county. so it's two different counties he's here and no one was ever arrested during this first interaction, but obviously the fbi tipped off jackson county investigators. they went to the house, they had a conversation with this suspected shooter's father and the suspected shooter, you can see how this plays out and you can see how these red flags were going for quite some time. take a listen thank you so much maybe ms hurt somebody else he use discord
6:24 am
he's last time i got to take each word, know, you've been on i'm not saying your life, but it's it's not unusual for people to live it's through our reporting that we figured out that after this interaction is when the father went out and bought the weapon that was apparently used in the school shooting. that's something that's been very troubling with so many people, but also, let's listen to one of the victim's fathers his daughter is recovering in the hospital. you can obviously understand how tough that is. let's take a listen a bullet went across her chest and threw her arms and then the other shot was through her wrist, is still in pain the shot through the wrist did a lot of damage out heels is just good to determine whether or not they need to do anything else or so it's just it's
6:25 am
going to be a slow healing process kate, it's important obviously to talk about these red flags and obviously the investigation that's ongoing, but you're heart breaks for these kids, especially those who are still in the hospital and still trying to figure out why they lost her friends and teachers that day during the shooting. >> that's the part that really sticks out to so many of us. the pain that this community continues to feel yeah. >> and the families that are suffering is their lives have been shattered for lives lost in this. thank you so much, ryan. john breaking overnight more than 140 ukrainian drones launched within russia, attacking nine region gins, including moscow the tv moments that took culture over the edge. people are watching and then our world change he had an explosive reverberation tv on the edge from airs sunday,

tuesday on tv, gearing up for the postseason seen anything like this tonight, 6:30 he is the man in live on tv bubble mlb racing the right breaking overnight. >> a major ukrainian drone strike on moscow official say at least one person was killed and three others injured in the attack video captured a large explosion at a high-rise building all right, with us now is white house national security communications adviser, john kirby. thank you so much for being with us. what's the u.s. view of the utility of these drone strikes inside russia, particularly at moscow well, look john, i'll let the ukrainians speak to their operations one way or
6:31 am
another. this is not the first time that they have conducted these kinds of strikes inside russia. i would just tell you that nothing has changed about our view. we're not enabling or encouraging attacks inside russia. certainly not with us made weapons that's, that's still our policy in our approach. but what we are trying to do is make sure that they have what they need to defend themselves, certainly within their own territory. and that's why we just announced another package of $250 million worth of weapons and material to
6:32 am
>> these particular drone attacks have had any tangible change to the battlefield front, not in any way, just a short time ago this morning, us secretary state anthony blake and confirmed the shipment of ballistic missiles from iran to russia to use in ukraine. >> the secretary said there will be sanctions on iran over this. how do you see that? what's the impact that you see on the military situation in ukraine with these iranian missiles i tell you the biggest worry john, from these are called close range ballistic missiles. >> they got a range of about 75 miles in our biggest concern is the impact on the civilian population in ukraine because that is how mr. putin has proven willing to use ballistic missiles in the past hitting civilian infrastructure, civilian residential areas. and so the biggest threat rtd cranial civilians and not so much on ukrainian military
6:33 am
forces. that's another reason why in this latest package of material that we've announced for ukraine that there's quite a bit of air defence capabilities in, in there to try to help them ship these things he's down but the biggest threat is to the ukrainian civilians and that mr. putin wants to buy more. you ballistic missiles in this case from a ronnie gets him from north korea to just shows you the depravity here. he just wants to slaughter and murder innocent ukrainian civilians. >> as you know, there is this new report from congress on the u.s. withdrawal from afghanistan in this report, the one author by republicans in the house, it refers repeatedly to the biden/harris in administration seeming to want to place the vice president at the center of a lot of the decisions that were made. there was one quote from this report that says, quote vice president harris, despite publicly championing afghan women's rights, appears to have been working in lockstep with president biden behind the scenes to withdraw all u.s troops, no matter the consequences to afghan women and girls the idea of harris
6:34 am
working in lockstep with president biden on the afghan withdrawal. is that accurate? >> she certainly was at the table for all those national security decisions. she's spoken herself about her support for the decision to end the war and her contribution to the policy discussions in the planning that went into the withdrawal. if she was at the center of that, of course, as she wouldn't be as vice president. but this idea, first of all, that there now throwing him this is clearly just shows the partisan nature of this report and the political nature of that. the timing of it here, coming the day before the debate. i mean, it's hard to escape that. but this idea that either the vice president and the president would just recklessly moving to this withdrawal without concern to afghan women and girls, just flies in the face of the facts that is not true. i mean, we worked very, very pretty hard. it during the three-and-a-half years, of this administration still have to try to do what we can for afghan women and girls. it's obviously more difficult now with the taliban and control but the effort to try to do what we could on behalf of the afghan population was
6:35 am
sincere again, we got out 120,000 afghan civilians from afghanistan. and what, 17 days at one point, a plane was taken off safely once every hour. so i just find it again just more indication of the partisan one sided political nature of this report very quickly, one of the things that report also says is that what was being said publicly by white house officials about what was happening? >> happening there. and the prospects for afghans were different than what was being discussed behind the scenes. how do you respond to that i talked about this yesterday from the podium, john is just absolutely false. >> it's not true. and i was one of those spokesman both at dod and here at the national security council. and i can tell you in all earnestness, we did the best we could be as transparent as informative and as open with the american people as we could during the withdrawal and after the withdrawal, we wrote a couple of after-action reports. dod did won the state department did one. heck, we did one here at the nsc. we made all that
6:36 am
public for the american people to see. and we've testified to congress on numerous occasions, there was no intent to deceive or to be less than transparent about it there was a plan. not everything went according to plan. sadly, 13 brave service members were killed in a tragic terrorist attack at abbey gate. we still mourn with those families and there were other deaths as well of afghan civilians, not only in that attack, but throughout. in other times during the withdrawal well, all of that is tragic, but it doesn't take away from the very earnest effort to be as open about it as we can to investigate these issues. and we've done that and released those investigations. so again, i think it's just more evidence that this whole report is really being driven by politics and partisan rancor, rather than an honest undertaking to try to get ground truth for what happened during the withdrawal john kirby, we appreciate you coming on this morning. >> thank you very much for your time say it with me, friends. >> it is debate day in america. what could be america's only

kamala harris and donald trump. and while the candidates have spent countless hours preparing so have the two moderators. i'm joined now by susan page, washington bureau chief for usa today, and someone who has moderated a debate herself first, let me start with this. you moderated the harris harris his last debate, the vice presidential debate, between her and mike pence what give me some sense of what it's like out there on the debate stage as a moderator, who was also being very much judged for the performance that you give you know, sara, maybe you've had this experience because you're so experienced at being on the air. but when i walked out there, i was pretty nervous when i sat down. i was only aware of myself and the two debaters and everything everything else kind of faded away in for 90 minutes. i was just really focused on our on our conversation and, you know, it's it's different from doing interview when you do an interview with a newsmaker, you want to push them to say something that's even just incrementally a little knew when you're doing a debate,
6:43 am
you always have in the back of your mind what is useful to the voters who are watching, including millions of voters who are just tuning in and learning about these candidates, especially in this case, kamala harris for the first time. >> this is a debate that is similar to the last one in that the rules are the same. there's no audience. the mics will be muted. but what do you make of that? and how does that affect these two candidates? because we have seen for many, many years a room full of people responding in real-time to what they're saying. >> yeah. and an audience i think i think an audience tends to be disruptive so i think it's great that there's not an audience there did move, could muted mics who know that muted mics would serve donald trump's purposes because they definitely did in the first debate that are at hand with joe biden and imposed to discipline on donald trump. helpful to him and i think that was one reason that harris people said this time they wanted to open mics, which they didn't get if there are
6:44 am
attacks in the last debate between donald trump and joe biden we all remember the barrage of attacks, but also the barrage of misinformation that was coming out of donald trump's mouth. >> and then joe biden it could respond to that or he could sort of go on to tell his own story. what do you think of that dynamic that we may see that again, should the candidate respond to what false information or should they stick to their own policies and what they want the american people to know about themselves you know, that said that such a hard question that that kamala harris will face night because on the one hand, i'm sure there'll be things that she'll want to correct or respond to our counter. but people already know what they think about donald trump, love him or hate them. they have an opinion of him. a lot of americans don't know about kamala harris. so i think her her greater task today is to talk about herself for her own plans and the president, she may need to worry more about is not the one on stage, not donald trump. it's, it's joe biden because she has the task of being loyal
6:45 am
to him, but providing a description are examples of how she would be independent of him, different from him, how she would turn the page in an election? should where we know most voters say they want to see big change with the next administration, not more of the same since you've covered politics for such a long time, who do you think has the most to lose in this debate winning the debates, one thing, but this is one of those pivotal moments potentially in a race that we've never seen erase this tight. >> it's literally neck and neck it's so it's so extraordinary and it's so short, were not accustomed to campaigns that, or this, or that, or this short both candidates have a lot at stake tonight. >> you know, we ta moment. this is a defining moment. well, tonight really is a pivotal moment. and i think more so for comment while harris than for donald trump because she is less well-known. she has got to make her case to people that she's up to the job. she has to describe what she would do. that is different
6:46 am
and independent from joe biden and she needs to stand up to what is usually a very aggressive debater who will be just right next to her onstage. >> she has to define herself and defend herself at the same time. susan page. thank you so much for coming on this morning and talking us through that. really appreciate it thank you. john all right. >> this morning, thousands forced to leave their homes is raging wildfires, burned dangerously close. in the record, he could make it even more dangerous cnn special event, the abc news presidential debate tonight at nine on cnn it's going after the presidential debate comedy central's the daily show do this week on comedy. >> and judge it next day on paramount plus high, it's christina again, i'm here to tell you about an all new special offer from my friends at jacuzzi battery model that

morning. several prominent republicans, including senator j.d. >> vance, are spreading fake claims involving haitian immigrants eating household pets now this is a hoax that centers around springfield, ohio, where it started as a rumor posted on facebook page. cnn's tom foreman has more even in the toxic political climate of our times, this is a wild claim republican vice presidential candidate, j.d. vance, who has railed about a large influx of haitian immigrants into the rather middle-sized town of springfield, ohio, posted reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn't be in this country. and this claim which focuses on kittens and ducks has exploded in the far-right echo chamber, amplified by the trump campaign, conservative commentators, senator ted cruz, donald trump, junior elon musk, and more. they are saying and
6:52 am
or implied if you elect vice president kamala harris, her immigration policies will put your pets at risk. but to be clear this allegation against these immigrants is patently false. a far-right fever dream which could easily prey upon racist and xenophobic fears according to springfield city officials there is no foundation for any of this in a statement they said, we wish to clarify that there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed or injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community. additionally, there have been no verified instances of immigrants engaging in illegal activities such as squatting, are littering in front of residents, homes furthermore, no reports have been made regarding members of the immigrant community deliberately disrupting traffic yet, when cnn asked vance's office why he is pushing such a blatant lie. they said senator
6:53 am
vance has received a high volume of calls and emails over the past several weeks from concerned citizens in springfield. his tweet is based on what he is hearing from them. but again, there is no truth to what he is hearing and that is easy to check wow thank you. tom foreman. this morning, firefighters in california and nevada are fighting more than 60 wildfires. the fires have destroyed more than 2 million acres and already forced thousands of people from their homes let's get over to cnn's nick watt, who's live in california for us. what are they up against there right now, nick well, kate, it's going to be another tough day because what they're up against, again is going to be heat and terrain. >> it's not even 7:00 a.m. here in the temperatures are beginning to rise, going to be another hundred degrees plus day there's gonna be some westerly winds. now the heat just sucks all of the moisture
6:54 am
out of this vegetation. and if you look at this terrain, it has also steep that is also what they're up against because firefighters, there were crews on the ground trying to dig far lines that will contain this fire. there also black hawk helicopters see you on thursday he's trying to hit the fire from from above, but right now this far 26,000 acres, it's about 40 square miles, grew overnight, overnight. it does tend to lie down and the fire during the day when the heat picks up and the wind, the heat will actually the rising air will actually drag those flames up the sides of these mountains. now the winds are going to be dragging the fire. we hope today away from the more densely populated areas down on the flats, but up into the hills. so big bear, which is a ski resort in the winter lake resort in the summer, that could be in some danger. there's a little community just over the side of the tail angeles. okay. that was
6:55 am
evacuated yesterday. we've just seen in the past 20 minutes or so puffs of smoke there. now the other issue with the wind, of course, is it can take those embers far and spread this far. so he's going to be another tough day. they're hoping as the week progresses, those temperatures are going to drop. and that is going to help them. but today, they are scared of further spread of this fire and they need help. i mean, because it's not just one fire is like dozens of fires are up against yeah. i mean, 60 fires, 2 million acres, you know, the fire we're really keeping an eye on is the airport farmers about 50 miles away from here down in orange county. and there we really saw how quickly these fires can spread yesterday in the space of just four hours that far went from seven acres to 1,900 acres because of the heat, because of the wind. this is fire season in california, 1,700 personnel, just on this fire alone. so
6:56 am
they are scrambling to contain this waiting, hoping for those temperature cheers to drop, to give them some rest, bite absolutely, nic, thank you so much for that update. >> follow this one closely. >> it's always a good day when you see nick watt. it's a bad day when you see the fires exactly but i think it both. >> you get a little good little town. >> alright. thank you so much for joining us. this is cnn new central with john berman, kate baldwin and my i forgot my name is there sidner? yes. thank you. see it in newsroom is up next cnn's harry enten we got a race for the ages here with nibbles, the hamster jumping out to a ten point advantage over jaws, the goldfish, what the heck is going on here? swim can kill it's a decent assessment. my hair is thinning all around my hairline. >> dermatologists recommended new truffle. it's 100% drug-free and clinically tested
