unreleased jimi hendrix tracks can be yours. rare recordings along with personal items for the man who might be the goat of all guitarist's we'll be auction next month. cnn's anna stewart is here and all i can say is excuse me while i kiss the sky calea fan, maybe you should be taking part of this auction next month. >> this is extraordinary. this is an artist whose career lost, of course just four years because he died tragically age 27-years-old and actually the story behind how got all of these lots that will be sold is also really interesting. the pa, of the manager managed to rescue it from the officers before just after i think the bailiffs have gone in and ransacked it unreleased demos. these are versions of trax. you may know, but i'm told they sound really different one masters tape has up from the skies ain't no telling little miss lover. the auction house has estimated this slot at 200 and $260,000. it may be though
5:01 am
whoever buys us has to just listen to it themselves to actually commercialize that, we need some sort of agreement with the estate, the family, of course of jimi hendrix also hey, let's handwritten notes all sorts going in these lots. it is next november on the 15th, then it will be broadcast live i am circling my calendar to not spend money. >> anna stewart, nice to see you. thank you very much. fly on little weighing a new hour of cnn news central starts now election day, donald trump is ramping up his rhetoric against immigrants and others in already sowing seeds of doubt about the election. >> florida continues to pick up the pieces after two major storms. as the death toll from hurricane milton is climbing, once again, the u.s. is sending an advanced anti-missile system and us troops to israel to guard against potential retaliation by iran. i'm sara
5:02 am
sidner with john berman and kate bolduan. this is cnn new central the candidates are saying. >> the wards are new, they are different and they are important with just 22 days to go before the election. donald trump will be in pennsylvania today after talking about us using the us military on us citizens, people, he calls the enemy from within rhetoric that really does have a dark history. over the last 100 years it's the enemy from within all those scum that we have to deal with that haydar, a country that's a bigger enemy than china russia, i think the bigger problem are the people from within. we have some very bad people. we have some sick people, radical left, lunatics. it should be very
5:03 am
easily handled by, if necessary, by national guard or if really necessary by the military for her part, vice president harris unveiled a new line of attack calling trump weak and unstable. it all comes as polls show a very, very close race. cnn's kristen holmes is here with the latest from trump world, christin yeah. >> and john, that rhetoric you heard there talking about the enemy within specifically referring to democrats that seem and using the military on liberal voices that followed a weekend of incredibly dark and divisive record rhetoric on immigration. in particular, we were with him in both aurora, colorado, and in california where he had really ramped up just how dark has immigration rhetoric could get. he called our country, occupied america in terms of migrants at one point, he was showing slides at an aurora, colorado event that showed hooded figures with guns saying your apartment complexes under kamala harris. and we heard him continually say things like the enemy within
5:04 am
and talking about immigration with these really dark terms. one thing to point out here, john, as you noted, those polls are tightening. there's also some indication that donald trump is chipping away at any lead that kamala harris had. and the reason i'm pointing that out is because there is a reason he is using this rhetoric. they believe that this is working moving forward. donald trump himself believes that the issue of immigration and particularly the dark rhetoric that he used around it in 2016, helped propel him to the white house. they also believe that that could help propel him to the white house in 2024. so that's why you're not going to hear any kind of dialing back on this rhetoric the other part of this to note is that donald trump and his team, they are trying to reach voters that aren't traditional republican voters. they actually aren't traditional voters at all. they're called low propensity voters across the country and in years past cycles, past those low propensity voters tended to lean democratic. there is now a belief in this belief is really on both sides that those low
5:05 am
propensity voters, particularly in certain areas across the country, lean republican if they can access them, if they can reach them and drive them to the polls in november, they can increase the electorate for donald trump and part of that is this rhetoric. they believe this is working for them. so you're not going to see any changes in posture? no matter how much we talk about how polarizing it is, how dangerous it is, how divisive it is. and he's going to continue using that today's speech in philadelphia are just outside of philadelphia at a town hall supposed to be about the economy might stay more on message because of the fact that people are asking questions about the economy, but still expect him to talk about aggression, expect him to use this dark language as he goes into it because of the fact that you're seeing those poll numbers, you're seeing the tightening and you're seeing the fact that donald trump and his team believe this is a winning message for them ahead of november it is certainly the message he is leaning into, which just 22 days to go. kristen holmes. thank you very much. okay. >> let's talk about that message and its impact. joining me right now is pollster and
5:06 am
communication strategist frank luntz and democratic strategist chuck rocha. thanks guys for me to talk. let me start with you. i want to play for you something else that we heard from donald trump this weekend. listen to this important an army of illegal alien gang members and migrant criminals from the dungeons all over the world. they come from prisons and jails, insane asylums, mental institutions from venezuela, from the congo all over concerns you is this kind of language should turn voters away, but it doesn't. >> you focus a lot on latino voters. how does this fit in to the appeal to them? >> well this message is actually for suburban women and let me make my cases in every race that i'm working in in
5:07 am
the 20 congressional races, republicans use this language because as you said earlier, abortion is a major, as a major issue here. so republicans know it's their achilles heel and they are trying to demonize immigrants and latinos to say, we, you should not vote for the democrats because they're going to come and get you and don't forget about this dobbs things. so they're trying to scare people back to their party. now, what that does with latino voters, i'm in arizona today. i campaign that here all weekend. is that you start seeing an erosion of folks, mainly older latinos who are closer to the immigration an experienced saying, is he talking about us? is he talking about my community or my grandmother who immigrated here so it's a double-edged sword that cuts both ways. but specifically what he did yesterday is to scare white women who he is losing dramatically because of abortion and dobbs back to him with a scare tactic add to this conversation, frank and what you've heard and seen on the campaign and from all the focus groups that you've run, i thought it interesting in the new york times and some of the polling this weekend that the
5:08 am
poll found that the escalating attacks on immigrants had not driven latino voters from trump to harris to 30 birds of those surveyed said they believe trump was not referring to people like them when he spoke about immigrants. >> what are you hearing from voters? >> and this is really is the same thing for immigrants, for latinos, for all americans. the number one issue is not immigration it's affordability. how to afford to put food on your table put gas in your car, health care and housing. that's number one or two is that they regard our immigration system is being broken fundamentally broken democrats agree republicans agree. they have different solutions but third, and probably most important, what we regard as horrific language. >> and i'm shocked by it. >> it's not having an impact because those who live in these border states an arizona, for example, or in nevada, which is a significant latino population they're afraid crime has gone
5:09 am
up there the concern right now is if we don't get control of that border, it's only going to get worse harris made a statement which i thought was i was surprised by it, which is there's no difference between her campaign or her issues and joe biden's issues. an immigration the public thinks the biden/harris administration has failed i would have counseled trump not to be so negative, not to be so personal to dial it back. but it actually is working, which is why you see the numbers. did you do with latino voters and check if i can ask we went from first talking about affordability is such such a key issue. and one, demographic that we know that affordability is absolutely a key issue, is a group that that the harris campaign is now focusing laser focusing in on which are when it comes to black men. and i want to play for you what jim clyburn told dana bash just this weekend
5:10 am
men staying home or voting for trump. but my concerns don't energetic about this campaign chuck, are you concerned like clyburn's concerned i'm very concerned. and the reason i'm concerned is just a little bit like let's let's ground this that lead take that black men and black women were overwhelmingly support vice president harris. black women at 90% of black i mean, at over 85 at that needs to be even higher if she can win the three most important states that your network talks about all the time is pennsylvania, philadelphia, lots of african americans, michigan detroit, lots of african-americans. and in milwaukee, if you have just a 2% loss of latino, not latino, but black man moved to donald trump there's no way he can win. so sure. we all get nervous. were overwhelmingly
5:11 am
winning them at the big difference here are really focused on younger black men when james clapper and first ran for office, you could talk to every black man on three tv stations. now that has been broadened across thousands of stations, streaming podcasts, and it's harder to for reached a young black male, just like ironically, were just talking about latino voters, the average age of a latino voters, 27th, that's why you start seeing the slippers there. it's harder to get the message to them because they're more disconnected, they don't have a landline at home. they're more transient, they rent properties, so any posts or life frankly, anybody else just knows it's harder to get a message to that younger group. >> and frank, you've done focus groups with exactly this. you've done with younger black men, what sticks out to you in those conversations that would be that the campaigns would be wise to listen to in their final pitch that they actually like trump's attitude that we may be negative in this discussion. but they're tired of being targeted by the government. they're tired of being forgotten. her left
5:12 am
behind there, tired of being criticized. they see donald trump and they see themselves in him not the wealth, but they see opportunity, they see the chance to be heard, and the chance to fight back they actually, it's not an anti harris vote among young black men. it a pro trump vote it's going to be one-third of the young black men. and that will affect georgia and north carolina more than any other states. >> one thing we also jump army was talking about it earlier kamala harris made a shift this weekend and started focusing on a bit of a new focus in her tone, focusing on age and mental acuity of donald trump's saying that he's, you know, he's, he's weak, he's unstable. they're hiding him why are they hiding him? >> do you think this work from your conversations with voters? what does it work when it comes to donald? trump less a message of he is dangerous morning message if he's weak and unstable, know we know everything there is to know there's nothing new about donald trump. she should be talking about herself promoting herself. in fact, if i was a
5:13 am
democratic adviser, i would not be focusing on the negative because it's not telling anyone anything they haven't heard they do not know where she stands on the issues. they do not know why she's changed her point of view in some cases and she is preferred to trump in her likability, in her persona. why is she not focusing on that? trump is dragging her down and that's hurting her campaign. >> choices. important ones to be made on where are you putting resources, time, and personnel in these last moments, it's great to see both, frank. thank you so much. shock. it's great to see you. thank you, sir. >> all right. this morning, florida, of course, still recovering after hurricane milton, president biden pledging more than six hundred million dollars to bolster the state's electric grid as hundreds of thousands of people were remain in the dark, plus the u.s. sending 100 troops and an anti-missile system to israel as tensions continue to escalate in the middle east this morning, the death toll rising after a hezbollah drone attack on an army base inside

there. residents are also facing electricity and fuel shortages. and waiting in long lines for gas like the one you're looking at there. that's near tampa over the weekend, president biden surveyed the latest damage and announced more than $600 million of federal assistance for projects in areas impacted by hurricanes, milton and helene. cnn's isabel rosales is joining us now, two major hurricanes in just two weeks. this has just taken a devastating toll on floridians and the area. and what they're going to do next because they've been hit twice. a lot of people are wondering which storm to blame for the damage they're, they have gone through. what can you tell us about what's happening now from milton right? >> and it's been a one-two punch for floridians dealing back-to-back with helene and then milton and we know that officials have said this was not the worst-case scenario could have been a lot worse in terms of milton. but for people living in these communities their lives are uprooted. this is extremely devastating and it
5:20 am
is a daunting task ahead, sara, for them to recover, to turn the page on this especially because flooding is still a major concern there are active flood warnings along the river's of hillsborough. the alafia river. that's in the valrico lithia section of hill's it's barrow county. you have the withlacoochee river. i mean, i was there on the ground at the alafia river seeing entire homes underwater cars, under water and we know that milton dumped 16 inches of rain over hillsborough county. so you have the sheriff warning people, hey, we're not out of the woods there and then there are those long fuel lines that you mentioned that we saw wrapped around the block, people waiting for hours to be able to get to a pump that has that fuel we know from gas buddy the tracking website that under 30% of florida's gas stations have no fuel especially in hard-hit tampa and st. petersburg in pinellas county to the point where for the state has been escorting these fuel tankers to get them to those spots where they're needed an even opening up public fueling sites where people can get up to ten
5:21 am
gallons of fuel for free to help them on this stage of recovery, this process of recovery, and there's then there's the debris removal, something that governor ron desantis is called a mahon read your priority. that was a big issue with helene. all of that debris, they're working 24 hours a day, seven days a week to get that debris out of the way, which can be so dangerous, especially since we're still not out of hurricane season. the state has removed a lot of the red-tape sizing weight issues of those vehicles to just get this stuff out of neighborhoods and then you mentioned biden his tour of these hard hit areas where he approved a major disaster declaration. what this does sara is it opens up fema funding. so people can get some grants for home repairs and for temporary housing and basic needs that they have. here's what else the president said effort from state and local the female us coast guard army corps of engineers the energy department, environmental

protection agency, department of defense assist to name a few famer. has delivered one 1.2 million meals over 300,000 liters of water. 2 million gallons of fuel. and so far we've installed 100 satellite terminals to restore communications and impacted areas and then there's the issue of electricity. i mean, a lot of progress has been made. sarah up. it's still 400,000 people without electricity and florida, the power companies are saying that most people should have power back by midweek. so that's going to be hugely important to getting over milton yeah, we're looking at siesta key right now. we're at the roofs have been ripped off so many houses there. i do want to ask you also about north carolina, which has been dealing with devastating flooding from the storms there is this issue you're hearing biden talk about the federal assistance that's come in to florida and north carolina and we're now hearing these reports of fema workers being threatened as they're trying
5:23 am
to go about helping the people who need it the most. what do you know about that? >> this is serious business, sara, i mean, i've i've spoken to so many officials locally on the ground in asheville, north carolina, buncombe county, even all through florida who have been very concerned about this backdrop of misinformation about federal aid. in light of milton, in light of helene to the point where fema had to launch a hurricane room well, response section in their website. so what happened here in asheville over the weekend actually, at least two counties, ash county and rutherford county. and the hard-hit western portion, carolina is threats being made to fema workers to the point where they had to halt operations to help out people. just said added an abundance of caution for the female workers, the washington post first reported that national guard troops saw a quote, armed militia making threats of fema workers. so that's why they had to pause these operations. it's not clear if that threat was credible, and we certainly reached out to female together
5:24 am
more information on that, but i do want to leave you with this. the ash county sheriff, phil howell saying urging residents to quote, stay calm and steady during her recovery help folks, and please don't stir the pot. his words. >> yeah, it's going to be a really long recovery and it just really disturbing to hear that isabel rosales. thank you so much for your reporting on florida and on north carolina the pentagon is sending some of its most powerful anti-missile defense systems to israel, along with 100 us troops to help operate it. >> it's the first significant deployment of us troops to israel since the war with hamas began. and bath and body works is now apologizing after one of their winter candles caused an uproar. and this is why the controversial design that had people comparing it to a ku klux klan hood with more reporters on the ground and the best political team in the business, follow

5:30 am
that's why you see that number going into israel to make sure the system is operational and ready to go along with working with the israeli systems that are there. and then for example, the naval ships that have also been used in ballistic missile defense that are right off the coast of israel. there so there is a clear threat or belief in the possibility of another iranian ballistic missile attack. that because the u.s. has been in very close touch with israel about it's old response to october 1. and even if israel hasn't finally decided how to carry out that response, israel, senior leaders, including the defense minister and the prime minister have promised a response would be coming. and in turn, iran has promised its own retaliation. that's why this thaad battery is headed to israel to help in that defense. we have seen that batteries ploy to the middle east before, including right after the october 7 attack on israel, we've also seen the u.s. deploy of fad battery to israel and 2019 as part of a training and exercise. so we have seen it in these situations before, but of
5:31 am
course, not with a threat that's hanging over israel right now. and that's why it's such a significant deployment and it will add not only quantity, but quality to israel's own air defense system that has the shorter range iron dome medium-range david's sling, and the arrow missiles. so john, this is another layer of aerial defenses. the u.s. watching very closely what's happening with israel. and of course with iran yeah, it does feel different distinctive this time, oren liebermann at the pentagon. thank you very much. sara. >> all right ahead. kamala harris, launching a new strategy to win over more black voters, specifically black male voters. what polls are shelling? about the serious challenge there for democrats and how officials are preparing for disruptions on election day, those stories ahead weekend as questions like, what does a comedy show doing on cnn that's too much what donald now can you slice that by got

5:38 am
now, i never noticed before and make me go woah, this is one of them, right? this is the democratic margin among black men under the age of 45 and presidential elections, you go back to november of 2012. what do you see? you see obama by 81 clinton only won them by 63 then we're all the way down to biden last time around by 53 tremendous drop-off already. and then you take a look at the average of the most recent polls. and kamala harris is up by only 41 points. that is about half the margin that obama won them by back in november of 2012. and this i think is, you know, when barak obama goes and last week when with some pittsburgh, pennsylvania to essentially talking to young black men, he made it seem like it was a kamala harris specific problem this is part of a longstanding trend of young black men moving away from the democratic party. and kamala harris is just the latest to face that magnitude of black, younger black men going towards republic that was most interesting here is the trend line in where some of the biggest drops happened are already happened this case how

about black men overall? >> how about black men overall? it's part of the same picture we're looking once again, if younger black men, it looks like the worst democratic performance since 1,960 since jfk versus richard nixon. it's the same thing among black men overall. again, part of a similar trend, but here actually the drop-off isn't as dramatic, right? okay, obama won by 85. then you see 71 mcclinton, 69, biden, basically the same thing, holding steady, but here again very, very weak only a 54 point margin. now again, still winning them by a large margin, but considerably lower than what we're used to certainly considerably lower what we had during the obama years. the bottom line is kamala harris, whip, younger black men, and then black men overall, putting in historically weak performance for a democratic issue, getting any relief with black women, alright, so we're talking about the trend line right and black women look, she's doing better with black women than she is doing among black men. but here, there isn't a trend line almost until we get to comment kamala harris. so again, this
5:40 am
is a black mark margin among black women. look, but obama won by 93 very large margin. clinton won by 93, a very large margin. biden did a little bit worse at 85, but then you look here and you got a 71 point margin. now again, these are large margins, but the bottom line is when you're talking about the base of the debris product party, you would think that kamala harris would do very well among black women based upon history. and of course, she would be the first black woman president, but she's actually doing the worst for a democratic candidate among black women since 1,960. if this holds. and again, when you look at the numbers harris, whenever you come in looking at the trends he's probably the most important thing you got it, my friend. >> thank you very much. thank you. sara all right. >> thank you, john. joining me now, white house bureau chief for the washington post, toluse, olorunnipa and cnn contributor and political historian leah wright rigueur. thank you both so much for coming on. you just heard those numbers when it comes to polling toluse, i want to ask you what is it? do you think that has eroded the black male vote when it comes to their
5:41 am
vote for democrats in specific, specifically, for kamala harris with these polls are showing that she's getting less than several or most of the other democrats that run before her different reasons why black men are having less enthusiasm and support for democrats broadly and for kamala harris specifically, the economy is the number one reason that we hear, we hear people talk about the economic gains they were able to make under former president trump, the benefits that they got during his presidency, especially at the end of his presidency when there was a lot of stimulus money that was put forward. >> and also the inflation that has happened under the biden administration that has been a good contrast. it black men in particular have felt that very closely and felt that the democrats that promised a lot of things when joe biden and kamala harris were sworn in it's office, almost a great deal of things for racial equity and for progress for the black community. they had delivered on some of those things, but a number of black men feel that they have under delivered, underperformed and they are open to either
5:42 am
considering a vote for donald trump or staying home because they feel like their vote does not make a difference in their lives. and so that is the big question. question how kamala harris will be able to address the economic question. and that's a big part of the agenda that she rolled out this morning. >> lee, i want to let you and to lose listen to this. she she is going to be on kamala harris with a charlemagne tha god this week, she was on with roland martin it is clear the campaign is concerned about the numbers that they're seeing when it comes to black men. she's making her arguments on on black radio or what we used to call black radio which is now online. go ahead and take a listen to something else that she told rolling rolling martin this morning he is not looking out for folks when he is when he was a land lord and not rent to black families sued for it when he took out a full-page ad in the new york times against those five teenagers, black and latino innocent saying they
5:43 am
should be executed. >> the central park five, when you look at the first black president, united states, and he had birth, their lives. and now you look at black immigrants, legal immigrants in springfield, ohio. and he gets on a debate stage and says they're eating their pets this man is dangerous not to mention rolling you heard her say this man is dangerous and she went down a litany of things from his past. >> and what is happening currently with his rhetoric around that haitian migrants leah, what do you make of this when you hear her say these things, will this resonate? as she goes through some of the things that donald trump has done or said about black folks in the past resonate and they're already resonating. >> i think we have to remember that behind black women, black men are the most loyal of the country statuettes to the democratic party. they are showing up in numbers that are
5:44 am
just unrivaled by any other racial group, any other kind of ritual gender, dynamic. and so i think we do have to appreciate that. what's important however, is that that message doesn't necessarily resonate with the voters of the black vote. waters that she is trying to appeal to. that she is trying to really that have seen erosion away from the democratic party. it's also true that the majority of that group, that kind of small group, small but important group also sees this as a moment where the two parties are both intrinsically racist and so because of that, they feel 100% left behind and there are all kinds of things i think we can point to. but very specifically, i think to the point that we were mentioned earlier, the way to pull these people in, in a way to appeal to in dili, these black men is through economic arguments and i think that's what we're seeing in this. listen after in the aftermath of this blackmail, listening toward that she rolled out. but also the agenda that she's put
5:45 am
forward. and the audiences that she is now trying to seek and speak to that message about how donald trump is a racist, is a big, it wouldn't be good for black people is also coupled with a very specific and targeted agenda that is centered around economic uplift, economic opportunity, and targeting people that have been left behind. >> i do want to talk about that a bit. the plan that she has sort of put out there in part provides $1,020,000 loans to black entrepreneurs legalize marijuana federally, and also would help black americans get into the business of selling legalized we products. when you look at this as a whole, to lose, is this hitting the mark to entice voters, which as you said the economy, the economy, the economy, it's the economy stupid how much resonance this will have with black voters who are on the fence about kamala
5:46 am
harris. >> she does have the challenge and that she is the incumbent. and so as she rolls out new policies, i see repackaged as old policies and talks about the benefits for black men. people will wonder why he hasn't done a number of these things previously. that's the big argument that donald trump is making against her until she does have the burden of incumbency at a time when people are not happy about where the economy is, they're not happy about the way the country is moving. and so she needs to be able to sort of distance herself from the past and show that she represents something different. now is also well, it's important to note that number of the policies that she's rolling out are policies that are available. we're all americans, he is just talking about their potential benefits among a slice of americans and how these policies like the child tax credit or even the small business loans would benefit black people even though they would be available across the board. she is under the same ruling that supreme court ruled about affirmative action as any other president. and so she can't necessarily put forward policies that only benefit black men, but she has to showcase how her broad agenda will be particularly
5:47 am
beneficial for black men. and that is a hard argument to make. >> crews overnight and leah wright rigueur. thank you both so much for coming on early this morning for us. appreciate you okay. and as we march toward election day, swing state election officials are moving to try and guard against any attempts to repeat the disruptions seen four years ago, donald trump, his running and his running mate continue to push hsu misinformation about the last election, raising fears about what's to come in swing states, especially this election cnn's sara murray is joining us, has been looking into this what kind of challenges are election officials kind of preparing themselves for? >> well, kate, i think one of the big things is that we have so many more election skeptics who are now serving on these local election board, boards. and my colleague, fredricka scout and found a really prime example of this in arizona. but it's really, if you look across all these different battleground states, whether it's arizona, whether its pennsylvania, whether it's michigan, whether it's it's north carolina. since the 2020
5:48 am
election across the country, there have been 35 officials in these various states who have refused to certify the election results. and that has the top election officials in these battleground states really on guard for the possibility that we could see more certification fights refusals to sign off on the winter, going into the november election. and so they've really tried to prepare in part by going to judges and saying, look, we have a really tight timeline on these election challenges. you need to be ready if we come to you and we say so and so is refusing to certify the election results. you need to be ready to jump on that immediately and to render a decision in these kinds of cases, they've also been much more aggressive when there is a county level election official who just won't sign off on the results often they'll site voter fraud. they'll site issues with the machines, the kinds of things we've heard donald trump talk about these election officials will go to a court and say, you need to force these election officials to certify the vote. and so i think across the country, we are hearing from officials who are really preparing to be very
5:49 am
aggressive and gearing up for these fights, which they do expect. we're going to see pop up after november. kate also highlighting the concern and maybe the reality that there might not be an answer on election day of the yes, it's absolutely. >> so very levels, it's good to see you, sara. thank you so much. >> good to see you, kate, jump right. we are standing by for signs of extraterrestrial life. the new nasa mission launching this morning to way faraway moon that scientists think could house other worldly creatures at a snowflake or a kkk hood. why major companies now? i apologizing after a controversial candle design me, a car is a reflection of its owner, right? >> my dream car was out there. i just needed to find it at a price less fantasy, more reality. look at me now your dreams might be closer than you think cars get it with gurus.

design that many shots copper say, well, you judge for yourself, looks like a ku klux klan hood. >> the candle called snowed in features what was supposed to be a snowflake? >> the company told cnn in a statement that the design was quote, unintentional. the candle has since been pulled from bath and body works shelves and websites all right. someday you made maybe able to wake up with a view of jupiter. now says europa clipper is expected to lift off around noon today from the kennedy space center florida, the destination jupiter's ice covered ocean moon. it's necessary first study to determine if it could support life, but it's not a quick trip. obviously they today's launch arrives on the moon europa in april 2030, while we still be here, i hope so okay. >> i'm going to say absolutely. this morning, donald trump's social media company is making a comeback on wall street. but why and why now cnn's matt egan is looking into that. he's here this now,

what are you expecting with this now? what are you hearing about this and what are you expecting now with the markets about to open your kid? >> it's not moving. watch this morning, but that'll change. i'm sure. listen, this stock was in meltdown mode. all summer button now it is on fire since september 23. it's up 100 108%. that's doubling in the span of three weeks. it's a stunning move. one of many stunning moves for this company, and it's a reminder of two things, right? one, this is not a normal stock. it doesn't treat on fundamentals, things like earnings revenue. it treated for growth, it trades on hype and momentum and the mood in trump world. the other thing that this shows though, is that it's inextricably linked to the election when president biden dropped out over the summer, this stock went down, it crashed a record low after record low one point it was down more than eight 80% from its peak. look at that chart, you see kept going down, down, down. >> but now that the poles have
5:56 am
tightened and that this looks like a race that could go either way. >> it's like someone flipped the switch and this stock is just going straight up. now, obviously it still down from where it was, but that is just remarkable move. now, wall street veteran matthew tuttle, he told me it's really simple. people realize that if trump gets elected this stock has the potential to do something. and if he doesn't get elected, it probably goes to zero. now, is absolutely stunning to think about a company that is valued in the billions of dollars having such a binary outcome here and don't forget that the former and potentially future president united states, has a significant amount of his net worth is tied up here, right? i mean, he's the face of the company. he owns almost 115 million shares. now, those shares back when this stock was down, down, down, it was worth 1.4 billion. those shares, it has more more than doubled now, worth nearly $3 right? so he's made that much money in just the span of three weeks. it's
5:57 am
really, really remarkable now, in the long run though, this company is still obviously has challenges, right? they're burning through money truth, social remains very tiny. the generating almost no revenue and so that's why professor jay ritter, who's been studying this stuff for four decades. he told me that he thinks that the stock is still dramatically overvalued in the long run, it's going sharply lower mean it just, it just feels like funny money when it comes to this and the roller coaster has been remarks, it's such a ridiculous story. >> it's good was you got a lot of the visit. >> it's good to see you, matt. thank you so much, john. >> all right. this morning, israel is trying to determine how hezbollah drones slipped into the country and struck an army base, killing at least four soldiers. it happened right there. now separately the pentagon is sending israel and air defense system along with about 100 troops to defend against a possible attack from iran with us. now cnn military analyst, retired lieutenant general mark hertling. we're talking about the fad anti-missile defense system. i've got some pictures of it up here, general, how does that
5:58 am
alter the equation? and along with the presence of 100 us troops, there it certainly adds additional defensive capability, john, there's the u.s. is sending a battery that means about 100 soldiers six launchers each can fire eight missiles at a time, a radar and a couple of command and control headquarters because that's what a battery is. it's a really it's the smallest command element within the military. but the, that is different because it's the most effective air defense systems in the world. what we talk about is ensuring the defense of israel they have, we've all talked multiple times about the iron dome that's for low all out but you'd rockets. they have the david's sling, which is for medium altitude. they have the arrow which is high altitude. rock incoming rockets. they've also, in the past incorporated patriot pac three, which is one of our systems. it's no longer there but the thad really is
5:59 am
something new and it's been around since about 20:12. it's short, medium, and intermediate range ballistic missiles specifically ballistic missiles and intercepts with something called a hit-to-kill approach. what that means is it has a kinetic strike against the incoming missile. none of these other technologies do that. they have an explosive device that knocks the missile out of the sky. but the that actually kills the missile with a direct hit. and it's important because truthfully, israel has seen themselves in situations where multiple rockets are coming into their country, not just from lebanon, but also from iran. >> general, i want to ask you about something and i think you had been focused on the last few days. this is the israel with lebanon and the border is right here. i'm not sure. many people know this, but there are thousands of united nations peacekeepers who operate in this region right here very close to the border between israel and lebanon. and they've sort of been caught in the crossfire how does that
6:00 am
complicate the situation? >> now, there haven't sort of been caught hinted, john may have been involved in it it's unifil it's broken in the news in the last couple of days, i'm very familiar with these kinds of peacekeeping forces from the un, unifil stands for the the un interim force in lebanon military guys call them blue berets are blue helmet, but it's a peacekeeping force has been in the country since. are you ready for this 1978, their peacekeeping mission, which i believe has been ineffective since that time, is supposed to be about helping demilitarize hezbollah, supporting the lebanese gun government and their army against insurgents reducing arms smuggling across the border and ensuring the lebanese government, were restore its authority and potential that put down these kind of issues within the country. i don't think it's done any of those things
