everyone. i'm kasie hunt. it's wonderful to have you with us we have just 15 days to go until election day. both campaigns now making their final pitches to voters in those critical battleground states. the vice president spending much of her weekend in georgia and michigan sharpening her attacks on donald trump's fitness for office unstable and unhinged. and it requires that response i think the american people are seeing and witnessing in real-time and we must take note of the fact that this is an individual who wants to be president in the united states. and i think the american people deserve better than someone who actually seems to be unstable trump's team had called this weekend the start to his closing argument for the campaign his advance, his media appearances though, ranged from late golfer arnold palmer, and his genitalia, to doubling down
2:03 am
on his attacks on political opponents like nancy pelosi and adam schiff as the enemy from can but again, no, no political opponent who's got me know, he's a well, he's of course, he's an enemy. he's an enemy. that's an enemy from within. that's really that is a threat to democracy. he's a bad people. we have a lot of bad people. but when you look at shifty schiff and some of the others yeah, they are to me the enemy from whether i think nancy pelosi is an enemy from within she lied. she were supposed to protect the capital all right. >> turning now to discuss margaret talev, senior contributor at axios. margaret. good morning. good morning. nice to see you. >> if you couldn't tell where in the final days of the campaign because everything went laterally gop the real no doubt about arnold palmer and now i can't unsee it, but course of the last 48 hours. well, i mean, look, should we start there? i feel like we should start there. >> do we have arnold palmer? yes, we do. donald trump

right now is everyone's proxies for everything, right? so you've got vice president harris looking to people like lizzo and ashore to help her turn out the vote was crucial voting blocs into his key states, right in georgia and michigan. you've got trump putting on the mcdonald's apron and serving the fries and saying he always wanted to work at mcdonald's but yeah, let's put into those pictures up so we can nobody believes donald trump always wanted to work in mcdonald's, but he does love mcdonald's harris actually worked at mcdonald's. he's saying she didn't she's saying she did. but these are all proxies like one i ate americans worked at a mcdonald's millions of americans, including me, love mcdonald's i love, i love nick titles fries. >> i will so i will seek out mcdonald's when covering when you are looking at which which fast food joint you've got to stop out on the campaign trail, mcdonald's is actually pretty close to the border them with an arnold palmer. although i may never do that again. so but yeah, look at it, eliminates all like pop culture ways to

try to reach masses of crucial voting bloc fox and in some cases, they're scattered with ms truths and in some cases, they're not, but we can never unsee that either. so yeah, i think this is the final two weeks and there but they're both looking to both their bases while trying to capture the wobblers in the middle. and we're just going to say anything goes when we're starting to see. so let's talk about harris for a second because she is over the course of the next day going to go to the suburbs of philadelphia, detroit wisconsin, i believe the suburbs of milwaukee, although maybe waukesha, wisconsin, with liz cheney right? and they are looking at suburban women voters, possibly who voted for nikki haley in the republican primary. they're looking at them as a group of people that they may be able to get out here at the last second wall also appealing to their base with the same message, right? is it going to work? >> i don't know in the many,

morning, the investigation continuing into a stunning week of highly classified us intelligence materials, the subject of the leaked materials, america's intelligence, about israel's plans to retaliate against iran for their attack against israel earlier this month the two documents marked top secret were shared by a pro iranian account on social media on friday. >> one us official telling cnn the leak is quote deeply concerning another official described the leak as quote, bad but not horrible, but noting the concern is if there are more, the house speaker, mike johnson telling cnn yesterday, he's falling calling the matter closely at the leak is very concerning. >> there's some serious allegations being made, their investigation underway joining us now to discuss shawn turner, former director of communications for us national intelligence. >> shawn. >> good morning to you. thank you very much for being here. what can you tell us about the seriousness of what has happened here? your and how it may impact what israel ultimately decides to do yeah, good morning, kasie. >> thanks for having me. you
2:14 am
know, i'm glad you asked that question because it is important to put into context the substance of these documents. first of all, it's important to say that these do appear to be legitimate leaked intelligence documents. there you're marked top, top secret, as you said, and they have the five eyes marking which indicates that this is intelligence that we only share with some of our closest allies here in the united states, with regard to the seriousness of these documents these documents appear to be what we call analyzed tactical intelligence that is to say that there's collection and there's an analyst that looks at the collection and basically decides what that the collection tells them what it looks like israel is doing. this is not israel's plan for an attack now kasie, that doesn't make the leak any less ag regis, but it is important to point out that these documents don't take away israel's ability to launch their attack and they certainly don't take away some element of surprise. this is analyzed tactical intelligence, basically a picture of what
2:15 am
they're doing on the ground so what what does it tell you that this information is out in the public domain at all? how concerning is that that piece of it? and how do you think it happened? >> yeah, you know, there's two possibilities with regards to the way this happened. the first and i think less likely possibility and this was talked about earlier on it was that it was that maybe there was a hack and this information was pulled and posting on telegram. i don't think that's likely kasie because typically when there's a hack and my experience, there are a number of other the protocols that go into place in government. basically, people are reacting to that hack so that furthermore, information isn't compromised. i'm not seeing that happen, happening right now with my former colleagues and i'm talking with the more likely scenario is that we do have a leak here that we have someone who has access to this information either at the pentagon or one of the other agent duties in the intelligence community, who took this information and they made this as someone who may be agenda driven. we don't know
2:16 am
what their motivation is right now, but who took this information? we were able to get it outside of one of our intelligence buildings or the pentagon and posted it on telegram the important thing to say you're cases as i do think there were some protocols put into place a few years ago that make it highly likely that this investigation will narrow down in find out who who posted these documents. >> all right. shawn turner for us this morning with all of that, sean, very grateful to have you this morning. thank you so much thanks, kasie, my pleasure all right. still ahead here on cnn this morning, donald trump's closing message on the campaign trail well, i fries with that, the republican nominee mcdonald's plus kamala harris amplifying her appeal to republican voters today across blue wall states, when we'll, talk about that with a former gop congresswoman excuse me. she's going have a former gop congresswoman by her side

catastrophic. look at some of the damage that has been left behind by the fast-moving water. you can see how it impacted these buildings overturning vehicles and pushing up all of this debris right along the side of this bridge. here, there was some damage to a local car dealership as well. just incredible amounts of rain, nearly six inches in one day. and remember, this is a particularly dry area of the western us. so when we see this rainfall, this time of year, it's tough that will overtake a lot of the drainage systems. and of course, allow for the flooding to take place. the good news is, is that the rain is quickly moving away. so we're going to get a period to dry out and hopefully clean up from the damage, but it's already been done. certainly some snowfall across the higher elevations of colorado, but this is the system moving eastward and it's actually going to be partly responsible for pushing away a tropical system that has no threat to the u.s. but certainly will help to x that away from the eastern seaboard ford and out to see damaging winds, large hail, a tornado or two possible

2:32 am
puts in her ads. she worked at mcdonald's one summer when she was going to school. what did you make of this? and what else did you take away from it? >> well, i mean, look as you mentioned, this is about appealing to those working class voters and trying to maybe one poke fung a kamala harris, it kind of fits into a long line of trump, taking without any degree of evidence on umbrage with people's factual back. back histories, be at brock obama being an american citizen, kamala harris working as a fry cook but also, yes, i mean, this is he's in pennsylvania. he's trying to appeal to these working class voters, also trying to appeal, it seems to men through this as well and so this is seemingly just part of the strategy. it also tries to play into this. i think way that the campaign is trying to present him as a fun sort of off the, wall kind of candidate that you can't predict, right? >> well, i mean, schumer has always been part of trump's way of campaigning but it has
2:33 am
gotten darker and different here in this campaign than it was say, in 2016. we also of course, saw him do that rally and leave trobe, pennsylvania over the weekend. again seeming to appeal to male voters. >> but it that way. >> that's one way of putting it original thought to me, but i think it's appropriate to kind of underline here. is that he's weren't running almost one campaign and his entire campaign infrastructure is running a different one in terms of the ad outlays, in terms of what they're talking about, how they're going after kamala harris. and then he goes out on the campaign trail and hazardous events and talks about genitalia and then also randomly plans and events at madison square garden because it plays into who is ego of being a new yorker. and so it's sort of his campaigning is distinctively different not entirely, but from the ad campaign that they're running, which is much more of a message thing that seems much more disciplined than anything he is
2:34 am
doing, right? >> and of course, this mcdonald's question it does also play into how they are criticizing harris in terms of you mentioned this that he has done this in the past, rightly, tried to call into question, let's let's just look at a little bit of the ad. this is how the harris campaign likes to talk about her working at mcdonald's watch right she worked at mcdonald's while she got her degree kamala harris knows what it's like to be middle-class so it's like she's stating it there right in this ad and then he's trying to show it. >> what do you think is more effective? >> i think this events that he staged over the weekend is getting a heck of a lot more attention than anything. she's saying in an ad in this sort of way in no small part because there's not the images that go with it and so this allows for that funding moment that they can become a viral moment on the internet. you see him in the fry, cook outfit as opposed to a more stated ad where i believe it's juxtaposed against a picture picture of her. i think at howard even
2:35 am
though that is of course one and she says that she was working at mcdonald's and so it's kind of this. >> i don't know. i would imagine this at least has more staying power just because you can think of the tiktoks and the memes and the social let me be a post that will go with indeed, let's talk for a second about what the campaign trail it looks like today. yeah. you've got kamala harris campaigning with liz cheney in the suburbs. it's all about suburban women. you have donald trump in north carolina. he's going to be looking at some of the damage from hurricane helene in some ways though that demonstrates she's trying to play offense today. he's a little bit on defense. north carolina is a state that republicans haven't lost since obama yes. >> and obviously, as you know well, the collar counties around pennsylvania, which they believe is where one of her events is today and then she's doing it. those rents across the country as well. this is about trying to make roads into that republican-based try to pick off some of those nikki haley voters that might seem uncomfortable about exactly the idea of having trump atop the ticket again, north carolina is
2:36 am
getting this kind of weird situation for trump, where he's trying to be defensive, but there's also then goes to highlight the conspiracy theories as well as he's because north carolina, we have seen the stories of fema workers being questioned and even in danger at one point because of some of the things that he's been spreading about what's going on? yes, he can play up this argument that the biden administration is not there, invest by proxy, harris is not there. but at the same time, this is a state that he won, albeit bazelon margin a few years ago. and so he has to keep that in his column. >> he does. all right. kevin fred was marine. kevin grateful to have you. thank you very much for being here. >> all right. let's turn now to another state that could hold the keys to the white house there's a lot of people these spinal 16 days is where they make up their mind. >> they're thinking about it, they're busy, their kids are in school. they're watching football, complaining or whatever it takes solace, michigan alabama lost. so you can feel good about alabama did

harris here with lizzo on saturday, the first day of early voting that is happening ever in a presidential race here in michigan. the first day of early voting in detroit, it begins later in the state it's sort of like getting that enthusiasm, right, getting your base of supporters to turn out and then this second it is still persuading, which is pretty fascinating when you think again about being just over two weeks away from the election that there's still some persuading to be done, particularly as you've mentioned, in oakland county, in the suburbs, i particularly around suburban women, which is where we'll see liz cheney. it's also where are these sort of nikki haley voters as we've continued to talk about if kamala harris can sort of get them to move over 16 days out and doing persuasion. it's not something that we've ever seen, but again this is an unusual presidential campaign and one that we haven't seen before yes it's really quite

the understatement, but i do take your point that normally they are just trying to get people that they already know are going to support them out to the polls at this phase in the campaign instead of potentially taking a risk on someone that you might get out, they might vote for your opponent. >> is that at this point? yeah. can you talk to it's a little bit about when biden was at the top of the ticket, there obviously was a lot of attention on the uncommitted at what's been going on in dearborn especially with arab americans who live there and have concerns about what's going on in gaza. >> how is that dynamic playing outright now, or has it? the faded i wouldn't say it's faded. >> but what i'll say is that in many respects it sort of seems like the harris campaign is sort of like, look, we've said what we've said, we would like to see a ceasefire and we're going to now look at all of these other constituents that make up the voters in pi

within michigan. i mean, of course, the harris campaign would like the support, but i don't see them sort of doubling down and doing anything extra at this point. again, this is where you're sort of trying to make decisions about who is going to make up the vote instead, as you saying what we're seeing now is go go into suburban women and also, i will say i think it's interesting that harris also has started talking a little bit more about manufacturing in manufacturing jobs vis-a-vis the economy which she's here in the state as well. >> very interesting point. all right, so it clark for us, zoey, thanks very much for being with us this morning. i really appreciate your time sir. >> keith, he could be here. >> all right. still to come here on cnn this morning. we're going to battleground pennsylvania, the vice president campaigning with a republican. there and we're going to talk to another republican who says, he's already voted for harris plus the new york liberty women's basketball teams securing their first wnba championship. that's next some bleacher report

reports that former presidential candidate, nikki haley may be joining trump on the campaign trail in an attempt to court those very same voters. republican senator and trump ally lindsey graham had this message over the weekend to those in his party thinking about voting for him harris ever supporting her. >> what the hell are you doing you're supporting the most radical nominee in the history of american politics. i can't take four more years of this crap. all right, what do you support her? you're supporting four more years of garbage policy well, sara, we got a lot more to get through, so let me keep moving. i want to ask you about doing as a republican blessing this stuff all right, joining us now, former republican congressman charlie dent of pennsylvania, he recently revealed that he voted early for kamala harris, congressman. always good to see you. thank you so much for being here so here's my question. >> question for you. i suppose is simply whether or not you think what harris is planning to do with liz cheney is going
2:48 am
to work because this is part of a broader strategy, right? to turn out suburban women, especially she's gonna be in my home county of chester county today in malvern with cheney trying to convince women who perhaps have been republican for, in many cases, i'm sure their whole lives to vote against trump this time many republicans out there are very dispirited right now. they're not happy with the direction of the party. the party is divided. i grant you it's not evenly divided in the maga wing is ascendant, but many of us want to turn the page on donald trump. and what he's done. >> we just heard lindsey graham. >> he very, he he questioned donald trump's fitness when he ran for president back in 2015 and 16. >> and many of us still share that opinion. that's been shown in backer graham and others had that donald trump was unfit. i felt that was the case back in 25th 15. i feel the same way now and of course, i also hope
2:49 am
that harris has made a pivot to the center. i hope it's sincere and i hope she continues to embrace that and many of us are also hoping for divided government so that neither side can really get to much of an advantage because we're all kind of tired of the more extreme elements within both parties. >> but right now, donald trump has just made a comment to the effect that people who disagree with them or enemies within he's talking about you didn't military against them. you know, if you can braces these, these autocratic thugs like vladimir putin and kim jong il. you know, he rejects our allies. there so many things he's now economically, he's proposing tariffs now that would have a destructive disruptive impact on the american economy that is much more extreme than anything. and harris done so a lot of us, we want a new direction for the party and liz cheney is going to certainly go out into suburbs of philadelphia with kamala harris and talk to a lot of republicans, particularly college educated republicans,
2:50 am
who want something different well, congressman, it really does seem to come down to nikki haley voters in many ways in the republican party and we've heard that she's talking about going out with trump. >> she recently recorded a robo call for donald trump. i want to play that for you. and then we'll talk about on inside. listen i this is nikki haley calling on behalf of president donald trump's campaign. >> i don't agree with president trump, 100% of the time you might not either but we have a decision to make and i'm looking at what we know about each candidate so there you have haley making that pitch saying we don't agree with everything. >> are you surprised she did that? and who do you think these women are more likely to listen to? nikki haley or liz cheney was wondering those nikki haley voters in the primary in pennsylvania. and i think right now, a lot of people can think for themselves. i truly don't think these endorsements matter that much. but what haley is
2:51 am
doing is she's she's, she's protecting her political options going forward. and i get that but a lot of us don't have to do that any longer and so i suspect there are a lot of women, especially in these collar counties of philadelphia you know, who are very uncomfortable with donald trump, even if they agree with some of his policies. i think there's a general discomfort with the way he conducts himself than misbehavior the erratic behavior the growing incoherence, and many of his comments so i think there's a lot of concern about him. and so i suspect at the end of the day, people are going to make up their own minds and may be nikki haley's, she'll have an impact on some voters. but i think a lot of those haley voters are gone for donald trump. and i suspect down with trump's gonna have a tough time getting 90% another republican vote, nor didn't win the election. he's going to need at least that all right. >> charlie down for us. we didn't even get to the comments about the son of latrobe, pennsylvania that donald trump made over the

cannot believe it. they certainly weren't happy about it after the game, but even after a challenge, the call upheld the official saying the defender wasn't in legal guardian position stuart hitting both free-throws sent the game to overtime, and that is when the liberty really took over in this game. lionel fiebich coming out, she immediately lee hit that huge three and then nijjar, a sadly breakaway with a layup there to put the liberty of five. that was the largest lead of the game for them. the series mvp was jonquel jones, chief finish with a team-high seven 17 as the liberty get the win, 67, 62 acre never dream of this he denied it, but it was delayed. that's all it was. and i'm so happy to do what >> let me tell you, the dodgers are heading to the world series for the first time since 2020,
