it's a football saturday. college football. even if you don't like college football, there's a game you must see today. not because of the teams playing, but whacky rules that are only going to be used. only one end zone is going to be used. yes, both teams have to share an end zone. we'll explain. why brick wall is going to cause chaos at the northwestern and illinois game in chicago. itis happening at wrigley field. in is cnn saturday morning. 6:00 a.m. where i stand in atlanta. glad you are right here. i'm t.j. holmes. democratic strategist james car vel is used to saying something that rubs people the wrong way. this time, about president barack obama. the president needs to grow a pair, if you know what i mean.
6:02 am
he didn't put it so delicately, if you know what i mean. he's not backing down about his joke about the president, hillary clinton and yes, testicles. also, i understand wanting to get there early, line up for the black friday sales, but this is a bit ridiculous. the woman you see there is already lined up. here we are a full week before black friday. they are already roughing it. we'll explain why. millions of americans are looking for a job this holiday season. there are jobs out there. we'll tell you exactly where those jobs are and how to stand out when others want the same job you do. here at the top, we want to start talking about the future of american troops in afghanistan. it's under discussion this hour with world leaders. president obama meeting with the nato summit. as a reminder to you, this is

6:05 am
out as long as it takes. they are saying by 2016, they don't care how violent it is in afghanistan, by that time, our combat operations are going to end. there's a chance down the road, the u.s. could find itself with fewer and fewer partners. >> what do we expect from the meeting coming up shortly between president obama and karzai? >> reporter: from what we are hearing from sources, there's statements about what karzai said, the united states being in afghanistan and hundreds of troops being there. they thought there's no way to do the mission if afghanistan is opposed to it. privately, the united states is ready to move on. general petraeus talked to karzai but some of the european officials say they plan to tell

they are believed to be as much as a mile and a half from the mine entrance. a lot of people will hear that and think back to the chilean mine disaster where they were a mile below. this situation is different. the mine shaft doesn't go down, it goes across. it's not the same as digging down to get to them. still, they have work to do to get to them a mile and a half in. authorities met with members of the families of the trapped miners and right now, they are doing their best to find out the condition. they don't know the condition the miners are in. we are keeping a close eye on that story. the tsa, the enhanced patdowns, the body scanners. some airports want to get rid of the tsa. one is in orlando. the orlando airport. it's one of two international airports in orlando. this is the smaller of the two,

but still significant. an increasing number of critics don't like the full body scanners. they call them too invasive, if you will. people don't like the new patdowns, either. they are invasive and intrusive. what they are doing, they say they want to replace the government security workers, the tsa with private contractors saying they do a better job with more customer satisfaction. florida congressman said it's too inefficient. listen to two people spark. >> tsa, in my opinion is out of control. i have 3,590 administrative personnel making on average over $105,000 just in washington, d.c. i never intended, when i wrote the tsa law to have that kind of
