let's get started here. let's start with the developing news this morning out of egypt about the health of former president hosni mubarak. we're getting conflicting reports about his actual condition. a state news agency is reporting the 84-year-old is clinically dead. but his lawyer says that he is in a coma. the military says mubarak's condition is critical. but that he is, indeed, still alive. all this confusion coming at a very critical time for egypt. thousands gathering overnight in cairo's tahrir square to protest the military leaders who were supposed to oversee the transition to democracy. instead, they are grabbing more power. ivan watson is live in cairo. ivan, what is the latest on mubarak's condition? >> reporter: the latest is that his wife, we're told, has been able to visit his bedside at the military prison that he was -- military hospital, rather, that he was transferred to. he appears to be on life support after suffering a heart attack,

being revived, and also possibly suffering a stroke as well. we're not getting much more information, though. no press conferences, nothing like that. and some of the egyptians i'm talking to are expressing frustration about that. they're saying, jesus, this guy may be on the verge of dying and no doctor coming out to give us more information just as one statement that's been disputed from the official news agency of egypt saying he's clinically dead. a bit of frustration from egyptians at the lack of information about their former president. >> do you think his death will have any impact there? >> reporter: you know, i'm sure that egyptians will be fascinated and transfixed by images of a funeral of the man who governed their country for nearly 30 years. but i think that for the most part, they're very concerned about the -- that -- the hit the

economy has taken over the past year and a half. who's going to run the country next. this news of mubarak suffering a health emergency is coming as the entire country waits to find out who won the presidential elections last weekend. and also amid concerns about where the country's going. it doesn't even have a constitution right now. and the parliament was just dissolved last week. so there's a constitutional and legislative vacuum right now while the country waits to find out who's the next president. they're not too worried right now about their former president who was ingraciously kicked out of power. >> let's talk about all of those protesters that showed up at tahrir square and what exactly it is that they are protesting and what it is that their expectation is. >> reporter: for the most part, these people last night, and they were there till about 3:00 in the morning, thousands of them, were supporters of the muslim brotherhood's candidate for president. his name is mohammed mursi. his camp has claimed victory in

the election with 52% of the vote, even though his opponent, hosni mubarak's former hand picked prime minister, ahmed shafiq is also claiming victory. state media is reflecting mohammed mursi's numbers for a victory. these people were out there to celebrate what they think is their candidate's victory, but also to say no to military rule. because it has been a power grab by the ruling military council in the past couple days, assuming wide ranging legislative and executive powers and also inserting itself in the process of writing a new constitution. zoraida? >> could we see a repeat of the deadly clashes? do you think that could potentially be the outcome here? >> reporter: i think there's concern about that, but also some of that energy, the street protests that have convulsed egypt for more than a year and a half now, has dissipated some. a lot of those initial revolutionaries that we saw in

january and february in tahrir square are deeply disillusioned and angry at the political process here. angry at horse trading in the back rooms between the muslim brotherhood and the military. angry at the recent power grab by the military as well. and i think some of them have conceded that street protests are not the only answer to egypt. but there is a lot of concern that the power grab by the military council is killing the revolutionary fervor and enthusiasm of a year and a half ago. >> ivan watson live in cairo for us. thank you very much. coming up at 7:00 eastern on "starting point," former ambassador to egypt daniel kurtzer will way in on the possible death of a dictator. what failure could mean for the united states. five minutes past 5:00. president obama is back here in the u.s. and back in washington this morning. this after the g-20 summit that was being held in mexico.

world leaders were meeting to discuss, what else, europe's financial problems. the president said that he is confident europe can get back on track with the u.s. economy and his election hopes in mind. our foreign affairs correspondent jill dougherty has been following this summit. she joins me live now from washington. so no big consensus. the president holding this news conference last night live on tv. and not with anything terrific to report in terms of how the leaders came out of this. >> yeah. i think that's pretty accurate, unfortunately, ashleigh. not a lot of specifics. they talked generalities. and essentially what they're saying is, you know, we're for european integration. that means some things that are good. namely, making a coordinated banking union. and also creating kind of an -- id an idea of creating an fdic, the type we have here in the united states that's a guarantee for money you put into banks. overall they were saying, look,

we're not going to spend to help our economies unless things really go south. here's how president obama explained it. >> what i've encouraged them to do is to lay out a framework for where they want to go in increasing european integration, in resolving the financial pressures that are on sovereign countries. even if they can't achieve all of it in one fell swoop, i think if people have a sense of where they're going, that can provide confidence and break the fever. >> break the fever. that sounds pretty serious. it really is. because, you know, ashleigh, there are different philosophies in europe. you know, germany's pretty tough. other countries want more spending. so at least you have an overall view, but not a lot of really

nitty-gritty. >> you listen to ail velshi, christine roman talking about the weakest links in the chain and how that chain stretches across the atlantic ocean to us. the press corps was tough on the president last night. they pushed him on the situation in the united states. particularly jobs. every one of us probably has some kind of a spanish bond in our 401(k) in some way. when it translates to this economy here and jobs here, what was his answer? >> he had to admit that there's a direct connection. you know, he was asked, would his election go down because of europe? he didn't quite get there. but he did make that connection. here's what he said. >> slower growth in europe means slower growth in american jobs. if we take the right policy steps, if we're doing the right thing, then the politics will follow. and my mind hasn't changed on that. >> you know, ashleigh, really it's kind of the debate that's here, that's going on in europe as well. do you spend your way out of a big problem or do you get tough and look for austerity?

that debate is there. it's here. and we'll see how they -- how they move forward. >> the world is flat. we were all having the same exact debate. there's no right answer. jill dougherty, thank you. good work. nine minutes past the hour. new information about a russian ship reportedly carrying military helicopters to syria. it appears to have turned back for home this morning. but another ship loaded with weapons may be on the way. british officials reporting the original ship has changed course after word of its controversial cargo made international headlines. russian officials are not commenting. pentagon officials have also told cnn that the russians may be sending another ship carrying weapons, ammunition and a small number of russian troops to syria to help fortify its naval base there as the situation spirals out of control. cnn has learned that jerry sandusky is prepped and ready to go. ready to testify today in his child sex abuse trial. the defense is expected to rest its case this afternoon.

but before that happens, the lawyers for the former penn state assistant football coach have to make that big decision. do they or don't they put him on the stand? closing arguments could be heard as early as tomorrow. the case then going to the jury shortly after that. attorney general eric holder could find himself on the business end of a contempt of congress citation today. a meeting between holder and the house oversight committee, the chairman there, darrell issa, failed to resolve a dispute over the botched fast and furious sting operation. issa says he asked for more documents related to fast and furious which is linked to the death of a border patrol agent. but holder did not deliver it. so they are going forward with the planned contempt vote. this just in. gas prices falling overnight. don't you just love hearing that over and over again? this time a big fall, too. a full cent. right now the national average for a gallon of unleaded regular, $3.49.

displeasure. price is also facing charges for resisting an officer and is due in court on july 3rd. a man in northeastern ohio was arrested for allegedly making meth inside a walmart. store security says it spotted 37-year-old james richardson, there he is, placing meth ingredients in his shopping cart and then combining them in a salt shaker he pulled off a shelf, then shaking the container. it's a method known as shake and bake, apparently. and he was arrested as he tried to leave the store. the miami heat now just one win away from an nba championship. they beat the oklahoma city thunder 104-98 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. lebron james led the way with 26 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds. the heat can wrap it up with game five tomorrow night at home. history is on their side. no team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in the nba finals. there's a first time -- oklahoma city fans, there's a first time for everything. >> yes, there is, christine. >> keep hope alive. 18 minutes past the hour. we're getting an early read on

the local news that is making national headlines. first out of wcco in minneapolis, a man in intensive care at a hospital after a minneapolis s.w.a.t. team officer allegedly sucker punched him in the face. take a look at that picture. a friend of the victim says sergeant david clifford attacked the man because he was talking too loudly on his cell phone on a bar patio. >> he got a 15-step running, leaping, super man punch and hol lered something on the way in to get him to turn around. >> that victim has undergone two brain surgeries, remains in intensive care. clifford eventually turned himself in and he is facing assault charges. want to bring you to l.a. now. one of these stories that you always shake your head. octomom and her 14 kids apparently close to homeless now. nadya suleman's home was placed in foreclosure after no bids were put on the house in l.a. when it was put up for auction yesterday. she shot a porn video last month. despite that she still couldn't

right now. that expires june 30th. a lot of people are expecting the fed will extend operation twist. basically more stimulus in the system. qe-3, qe-2, qe-1, these were all more stimulus into the system. some would say when you look at how low interest rates are and still, still we are having an economy that's kind of having trouble getting off the mat, you know, we need another -- we need more quantitative easing. that's what the qe stands for, quantitative easing. most people are telling me they think it's unlikely there'll be a qe-3. >> what's the difference between qe-3 and operation twist? >> a different way of doing it. twist doesn't add to the fed's balance sheet. politically more palatable. then they could change their interest rate forecast, unlikely. i'll parse for you the g-20 statement. i took the g-20 communique, g-20 group of lead ers down in los cabos. we put it through word cloud. one word popped out to me here

really important from the g-20 communique. the word is "growth." look there on the left of your screen. growth. this is what every leader in the world wants. they want to figure out how to grow. when you grow you have jobs. the g-20 very concerned about how slowly europe is growing, how slowly the u.s. is growing. because we are so -- wow. europe is so important to the u.s. for our exports. the president has said it. i've said it for weeks now. if you have slow growth in europe, you have slow jobs growth in the united states. growth is the number one word. when you look at those very, you know, diplomatically worded g-20 communiques, growth is the most important thing in there. >> when i look at that word cloud all i can see is growth. i'll take your word for it. mitt romney is talking loud after a report claiming that florida senator marco rubio was not on the candidate's short list for being vetted for vice president. all of the sudden, no, that's not true. no way, no how.

ready to testify. jerry sandusky's lawyers could have him take the stand in his own defense today. a desperate call for help. the 911 tape from the time that rodney king was found dead in a backyard swimming pool. case closed. a grand jury refuses to indict a texas father who killed another man while trying to protect his daughter. welcome back to "early start." we're happy to have you with us. i'm zoraida sambolin. >> 31 minutes past the hour.

i'm ashleigh banfield. will he or won't he testify? all eyes are going to be on a courtroom in the jerry sandusky case today. cnn has learned that former penn state assistant football coach has been prepped and is ready to go. ready to take the stand. whether or not he actually does that isn't going to be decided until the very last moment when the defense is expected to make the decision and then wrap up the defense case. yesterday, though, his wife of 45 years, dottie sandusky, did take the stand. and she faced up to 45 minutes of questioning. she told the jurors that many of the accusers had been to their home over the years and that she had never witnessed any inappropriate contact between the accusers and her husband. cnn's national correspondent susan candiotti is live from bellefonte, pennsylvania, this morning. susan, talk to me a little bit about this possibility of jerry sandusky taking the stand. because clearly the jury has a lot of questions after hearing two different sides of this story. >> reporter: they sure do, ashleigh. good morning.

well, i can tell you this. his attorneys have worked with him. they have prepared him. they've given him questions. so he's ready to go. but, as usual, attorneys never make that decision until the very last second. and that's what they're going to have to do today on the fly. you know, the question is, can he hold up to a tough cross-examination? so one of the things i'd want to know is somehow can they control him? can they limit him to certain questions? is that even possible? because as we've seen in the past, when he's done interviews, he's had some troubles, to say the least. but the defense did have a very strong day yesterday as they tried to attack, for example, investigators in the case, accusing them of trying to coach the young men, the accusers who had come forward. they also put on, the defense did, a slew of character witnesses who all called jerry sandusky a wonderful man. including one woman who said that she heard nothing during the trial testimony that would change her mind.

here's what she told anderson cooper. >> is there any explanation for -- in your mind why jerry sandusky would be naked showering with a little boy and soaped wup eed up with a little? >> i think a lot of guys are working out. they were playing basketball. then aithey'd go take a shower. where is this little boy that mike mcqueary supposedly saw? why hasn't he come forward if there's even a witness to say that this happened? >> so you see no possible reasons why somebody doesn't come forward and talk about sexual abuse that occurred to them as a child? >> i -- i don't know. >> reporter: now, this woman, when she got off the stand yesterday, she tapped jerry sandusky on the shoulder as she walked past him. ashleigh? >> wow. and i understand from, you know,

in courtroom reporting that jerry's wife, dottie, winked at him before she began her testimony from the stand. that's a real tough line of questioning. you know, once the defense gets through with their questioning, which is the easy part, the prosecutors have to come back. this is a woman who's been married to him for 45 years. she is not in any way at this point accused legally of anything, any kind of collusion. what was that like? and how did the prosecutors try to mitigate what she said to the defense? >> reporter: well, i would say that they were fairly gentle with her. i mean, you can only go so far. as you've just said, it's a fine line if you start attacking the wife. however, they did try to ask her as many pointed questions as they could. she was very cool and composed throughout. she staunchly defended her husband of more than 45 years. she insisted that she never saw any inappropriate conduct. she said that she never heard any yelling coming from the basement.

she said that -- acknowledged that her husband did put the boys to bed. at least she said he -- he said good night to them. and she also had a different story about what happened after one young man had testified that -- that dottie sandusky had interrupted him and her husband as he was about to sexually attack him in a hotel room. she said that when she came into the room and said what's going on, that her husband was yelling at the boy because he was refusing to go to an expensive lunch. and that's what that was about. and she also said that she -- that she also accused one of the other young men of being conniving. one of those youngsters that stayed over at their house. >> sometimes less is more. a prosecutor that just leaves it at that and says what else is she going to say? you can leave a deafening silence and it's just as impactful as well. susan candiotti live for us. developing news out of

egypt. conflicting reports about ousted president hosni mubarak who was given a life sentence two weeks ago. a state news agency is reporting the 84-year-old former dictator shown here at his trial is on life support after having a stroke and being declared clinically dead. this comes at thousands gathered in tahrir square to tell the military to hand over power. president obama makes his case for stopping the ripple effects of europe's debt crisis. the g-20 summit last night, he encouraged european union leaders to focus on a long-term vision for the euro while making short-term economic fixes. president obama also brought it back to the basics, explaining why troubles in europe mean troubles in the u.s. >> europe as a whole is our largest trading partner. and if fewer folks are buying stuff in paris or berlin, that means that we're selling less stuff made in pittsburgh or

cleveland. all these issues, economic issues, will potentially have some impact on the election. but that's not my biggest concern right now. >> tis the season for summits. eu leaders plan to have their own summit coming up next week. frantic and anguished. rodney king's fiancee, cynthia kelly, clearly distraught and clearly suffering. she made a desperate call to 911 this past sunday when she discovered king unresponsive at the bottom of his pool. during the 5 1/2 minute call kelly told the dispatcher that she tried to revive king by throwing a shovel into the water. she also said she couldn't pull him out herself because she did not know how to swim. >> how old is he? >> rodney king, the guy that got beat by the police! >> okay. how old is he? >> he's 47 years old. he's at the bottom of the swimming pool. i don't know how to swim. >> is he out of the pool or is

a sexual assault. all the evidence that was presented by the sheriff's department and by the texas rangers indicated that that was, in fact, what was occurring when the victim's father arrived at the scene. >> details in the case are critical. the little girl was examined in the hospital after the alleged incident. then authorities said the forensic evidence collected at the hospital, that collected with the witness accounts was a corroboration of the father's story. despite a report to the contrary, mitt romney insists florida senator marco rubio is being vetted as a possible running mate in november. there sure was a lot of buzz after abc news reported yesterday rubio was not being vetted. the popular senator looked uncomfortable discussing it last night on fox news. after romney moved quickly to shoot down that story. >> the story was entirely false. marco rubio is being thoroughly vetted as part of our process. >> it's an interesting day, yeah. look, i don't want to talk about the process. i haven't up to this point.

possibly today, a very risky move by him and his lawyers. one win away from the nba championship. good morning to you. welcome to "early start". >> it's nice to have you with us. it is exactly 6:00 a.m. in the east. let's get started here. this is cnn breaking news. the founder of wikileaks, julian assange could be arrested for breaking the terms for his bail because he tried to claim asylum in u. kk and then being sent to sweden and possibly the united states. what is the deal here? the last we heard he was about to be extradited and all of a sudden he shows up at the embassy. >> reporter: well, the uk supreme court has ruled he will

not be able to appeal the appeal on his extradition request to sweden. there was potentially some hope that he could take that all the way to the highest european court, the european court for human rights, but it seems assange wasn't fancying his chances and claimed asylum. part of his bail conditions are that he is at the registered residence until 8:00 local time in the morning. this is the condition he has now of course breached. you have to expect if he's gone as far as to seek asylum in the hope he'll be sent to ecuador, which does not have an extradition treaty, he probably thinks his chances are pretty much limited. >> what are the bigger concerns, the sex crimes charges in sweden or potential charges in the united states over leaking sensitive documents and whole wikileaks scandal? >> reporter: both the u.s. and

sweden have maintained consistently throughout this saga that there is no u.s. extradition request to sweden on espionage, the only chance assange has to go and answer for is those rape and sexual molestation charges in sweden. what's important to note, by the u.k. supreme court, denying him the opportunity to reopen his appeal, they are not in any way judging on his guilt or innocence. ener saying there's no basis for him to not be extradited. his lawyers had been saying that the prosecutor in sweden was not a judicial authority and could not request a europewide arrest warrant. the u.k. supreme court has found that is not the case. it is an incredibly torturous legal saga playing out. we understand the ambassador is heading to the british foreign office to formally inform them of everything has happened and to try as they say to find a way

through this. >> diplomacy versus the law. thanks. it is three minutes past the hour, president obama back in washington from the g-20 summit held in mexico. world leaders met to discuss europe's financial problems. the president saying he is confident europe can get back on track with the u.s. economy and his election hopes in mind. foreign affairs correspondent jill dougherty is live in washington this morning. jill, did the president and other leaders actually figure out a plan? i know there were a lot of meetings, but a plan to get the global economy back on track? >> i don't think that you can say that they did really at all. some generalities, maybe a direction, you know the word stovepiping, that's what's the problem in europe. different countries doing their own thing.

they are talking about some type of integ race and it would include a coordinated banking union and something like we have in the united states, the fdic that guarantees the money you have in the bank to a certain extent. here's how president obama explained all of this. >> what i've encouraged them to do is to lay out a framework for where they want to go in increasing european integration and resolving the financial pressures that are on sovereign countries, even if they can't achieve all of it in one fell swoop, i think if people have a sense of where they are going, that can provide confidence and break the fever. >> and that was really one of the things, zoraida, they were

trying to do, at least give the impression to the world they know what they are doing or the direction in which they are going. >> interesting to say break the fever. we're always talking about the debt crisis in europe and how it affects us here in the united states. the president also tied together the relationship between europe and jobs here in the u.s. what did he say? >> well, you could almost say the relationship between europe and jobs and his re-election, but here's how the president explained it. >> slower growth in europe means slower growth in american jobs. if we take the right policy steps, if we're doing the right thing, then the politics will follow and my mind hasn't changed on that. >> bottom line, you got the same debate in europe that you have here. do you spend your way out? do you use stimulus to solve problems or use austerity. and that's one of the debates here and there. >> that continues, jill dougherty, live in washington for us.

thank you. jerry sandusky may end up testifying today in his own trial. cnn has learned he is prepped and ready to go, ready to take the stand in this case. the defense is expected to rest its case this afternoon. before that happens, his lawyers have got to decide, make that final decision whether or not to let him face questioning and it could be blistering. closing arguments could take place tomorrow and that case could go to the jury as early as this week. eric holder could find himself on the business end of a contempt of congress citation today. they failed to resolve a dispute over the botched fast and furious sting operation. issa asked for more documents which is linked to the death of a border patrol agent but holder did not deliver. they are going forward with a planned contempt vote. developing news out of egypt about the health of former president hosni mubarak, we're

getting reports about his actual condition. a state news agency is reporting the 84-year-old is clinically dead but mubarak's own lawyer says he's not, he's in a coma. the military is saying his condition is critical but that he is still alive. a lot of confusion, all coming at a very critical time for egypt because thousands are poring into the streets overnight this is tahrir square which you've become quite familiar with on the news. they were protesting the leaders that were supposed to oversee the transition to democracy but grabbed more power before the leader could take office. coming upg at 7:00 eastern, the former ambassador to egypt, daniel kurtzer will weigh in on the death of a dictator and whether democracy in that country is at risk. what could a failure there mean for the united states? the miami heat just one win

tell us what wall street is hoping he will say. >> markets closed higher because they are hoping the fed will do more systtimulus in the economy. the fed is the only game in town. congress doesn't do anything, the president is held back by congress. republicans would say rightfully so and europe is paralyzed with political process too. it could extend this thing called operation twist. that's where they, they are buying some securities and then selling others to try to keep interest rates low. it's likely, many people think they could extend this operation twist, there's something called qe3, probably less likely, raw stimulus, pushing money into the system. we know rates will stay low for a pretty long time so that is unlikely there. people in the markets are saying they want to hear from bernanke, the fed is going to do everything humanly possible to

keep the oxygen flowing in the u.s. economy because things have been slowing a little bit. all about keeping interest rates low and they have been kept low for so long. doesn't mean your credit card interest rates are going down or creating jobs, what else can the fed do? it is all about growth. i want to talk quickly about the g-20 meeting. i put the g-20 communicate, i put something through a word cloud, i use the one called wordal, to boil down that speak into what is important for the world and the word is growth. g-20 and growth. they want these economies to grow and create jobs. a lot of critics, say there's a lot of talk and words on that screen, welcome, welcome, financial, global. but growth is the most important

thing here. and they don't really have a concrete plan with all buy in from everybody about how to get growth again when the focus has been on austerity for so long. >> i hate to be debbie downer but all i hear is that the summits are useless. >> the people called sherpas do an awful lot of work. it's three steps forward and two steps back on these things. and you have fires burning all around you too. they have different goes. these different countries have different goals, they have to work towards more integration and a common purpose, but all of that is really being tested. when you have prosperity, these summits tend to be much happier. people can give a little here, take a little there and move forward. but when you have prosperity that is strained like it is

attacking two of his former volunteers. in a matter of hours, we could see jerry sandusky take the stand in his own defense. cnn has learned the former penn state assistant football coach is prepped and ready to testify. whether he actually does won't be decided until later today when the defense is expected to wrap up its case. yesterday sandusky's wife of 45 years faced 45 minutes of questioning. she told jurors a lot of boys had been to their home over the years and she never witnessed any inappropriate contact. cnn national correspondent susan candiotti is live from bellefonte, pennsylvania. we'll get to mrs. sandusky in a moment. i want to start with jerry sandusky because a lot of people think perhaps he'llty the stand. it sounds risky. >> reporter: well, it does sound risky, certainly. the question is will he do. why would he want to do, zor

ride day? one reason is it would give him a chance to look jurors in the eye and let them assess him, let him talk to them and tell what he thinks really might be at play here. of course, he's not obligated to and things could go round. we saw what happened when we did the interview with bob costas. so will his defense attorneys want to take that risk? we'll have to see what happens. but, you know, the thing is defense spent the day yesterday trying as best they could to attack, for example, investigators on the case accusing them of trying to coach the alleged victims in this case during questioning. and they put on more than a dozen character witnesses, all saying that jerry sandusky is a wonderful man. anderson cooper spoke with one of those witnesses afterwards, who said she doesn't believe the testimony of any of the alleged victims. here's what she said. >> do you believe that they are all lying?

>> well, i believe in jerry and i believe in the thousands of lives he's already touched to have been bettered by his relationship with them. and when you count that plus knowing him for 40 years -- >> why do you think these eight have testified? >> you know, you'd have to ask them. >> but i mean, you must think they are not telling the truth. >> yes, i must think that. >> reporter: and when she got off the stand and she walked past jerry sandusky, she patted him on the shoulder, zoraida. >> let's get to dot ty sandusky, you were there. there was this critical moment where they asked her if there was any inappropriate contact between her husband and any of these kids. there was a moment of silence. could you watch us through that? >> reporter: sure, after they asked her that question, she paused and said, well, the only

thing that i can think of is that one time when we were watching television something happened on the television and the boy ran over and jumped into the lounge chair with my husband. it was unclear what she meant by that and gave one other example of being at the wrestling match and when she and her husband watched into the gym, she testified that one boy, the boy who was wrestling who knew jerry, ran over and jumped into his arms. again, unclear in her mind how that might be considered to be inappropriate, zoraida. >> it almost seemed to me she was claiming that the child was being inappropriate, not her husband. anyway, we know you are following this for us and we really appreciate it. susan candiotti live for us. thank you. in the meantime, jerry sandusky's attorney, joe amendola is taking serious heat for a questionable comment he made to reporters outside of court yesterday. here he is walking outside of

clinically dead as thousands of people gathered in tahrir square to tell the military to hand over power to the newly elected officials. president obama makes his case for stopping the ripple effects ofo europe's debt crisi. he encouraged eu leaders to focus on a long-term vision for the euro while making short-term economic fixes and brought it back to the bases explaining whi troubles in europe mean trouble for the u.s. >> as a whole, our largest trading partner. if fewer folks are buying stuff in paris or berlin, that means that we're selling less stuff made in pittsburgh or cleveland. all of these issues, economic issues, will potentially have some impact on the election. but that's not my biggest concern right now. >> there will be more discussions about the global

economy. eu leaders will have their own summit next week. new information about a russian ship allegedly carrying military helicopters to syria. it has appeared to have turned back for home. that's not the end of the story, there is another ship loaded for weapons and may be on the way to the mediterranean coast. the original ship had changed course from the north sea off the coast of scotland after news of its controversial cargo made international headlines. russian officials are not commenting on what the ships or what they are carrying. pentagon officials have told cnn that the russians may be sending yet another ship carrying weapons and small number of russian troops, this to help fortify a small naval base situated there as the situation spirals out of control in that country. we're going to talk about russia and all of the different issues relating to syria and russia at

embassy. a whole lot of groping going on at southwest florida international airport, a former tsa worker is facing battery charges for grope being a supervisor after she was subjected to a lengthy patdown. that's carol price being patted down for two minutes last april. she was so upset from the treatment from her former colleagues she went to a tsa supervisor to explain and she appears to grope her to show her displeasure. she is due in court on july 3rd. it turns out people who go to mcdonald's aren't loching it, scored the lowest in a just released consumer satisfaction index with a 73% satisfaction. they have historically scored poorly but has gained since 61% satisfaction score and that means 73% are satisfied with her

literally got on the map. and it doesn't seem like that's gone away. what do you think it is about the game and the particular players on the american team who seem to keep the brand going? >> that was what was really special about the world cup. we were able to create household numbers for some of the players, hope solo, and it's exciting. it's exciting to be not only an icon but a role model in the craft that we all take part in. >> i'm looking at your stats, and you are a head case, like literally. >> yes, i love that. never heard that before. >> it came to me on a whim because what did i see, of your 125 goals, 51 have been scored from your head. >> i scored a lot with my head. i actually -- it's all about the balls that get sent in from my teammates. >> is that accidental or just aim better with your head than your feet? >> some might say that i'm actually better at hitting the ball with my head than i am with
