leagues. he starts the playoff game and absolutely loses it psychologically. not physically and eventually, he is a decent outfielder with the cardinals. you want someone to play as long as they are meant. i don't want guys to have a career short as mine. some careers are even shorter. you want to play for as long as you are intended to play here physically. everybody touted phil hughes and ian kennedy last year. they went 0-8. they had to rush joba chamber lan chamberlain and finally they stopped messing around with joba chamberlain. he probably should have going to the minor leagues for 10 starts.

adam. tell us the story. >> we actually met when i was in college and a mutual friend introduced us. it is a guy that adam still plays with, it is austin kearns. >> what has it been like for you living in d.c.? >> it has been fun. thts a great city. there's so much history here and adam and i are both history buffs. we have been enjoyed being here and getting to do a little sightseeing. it has been fun. it is a change. >> of course you have your son, brady on your lap. and you are expecting another one. congratulations. now, tell us a little bit about adam as a dad. is he strict or is he easy going? >> he is a very fun dad. he always wants brady to mind but they have a ball together. it is fun to see them both grow and change and brady's just now at the age where he loves his daddy and he misses him when he is gone. it is both good and bad. >> adam played football before you met him in college before he went to college excuse me. have you ever thought about what it would have been like if he had been in the nfl instead of

major league baseball? >> i think the lifestyle would be pretty similar. we definitely had that conversation before. football was a big part of adam's life. but baseball it looks like this is where he was supposed to be. we are very grateful he has had the opportunity to play. >> one of the favorite things we get to do is show the baby pictures of adam. how much fun is that for you to look at the baby pictures and he looks like his son. >> getting to see how much brady resembles dad. how similar they are. brady's into all the same things adam was when he was younger. it is fun to get to see that. >> he has had such a wonderful role model in your father-in-law, skip. >> for sure. i'm so grateful for my inlaws. they have set a great example for adam on what a family should be like. good grandparents and parents. >> thank you.

great nation. it puts your whole life in perspective. we talk about millions of dollars. it is all meaningless. this is these kids coming back injured from overseas that we should be taking care of. they can appreciate being out here at the ballpark. >> johnny: checked swing and one ball and two strikes to nieves. you talk about wil and what he does when he is away from the ballpark, getting involved in all sorts of charitable activities. there isn't a guy on this ball club who isn't willing and able when he can to do for others. >> rob: yeah. a lot of them are newcomers here like josh willingham. just a fabulous kid. adam dunn's coming over here from cincinnati. they all try the do as much as they can off the field.
