bulger, oliver and jepsen combined to not only allow a run but a hit. >> jim p: that's usually what happens when you play the angels in years past because the bullpen has been solid. this year, as you mentioned, coming in -- their e.r.a. is higher than anybody else but settled down, as we mentioned, over the last 21 games. when you're struggling, all you can do -- there was a great article about darnell very who we saw at 38. the one thing -- and there's a fastball. the one thing oliver taught all the guys is that if you have a bad game, that's yesterday. focus on today and right here, let's see. moving fastball on the outside corner. a little more velocity at 91. so roberts down. that's the second out.

the home run adam hit to center field. a blast. something he didn't do regularly last year and the fastball is off the plate. again, good hitting approach and is nice when you have the younger players being able to hit the other way with power. and adam is involved in that type of hitter. when he was hitting well he used right field quite a bit. >> jim h: 2-1. high, flyball. shallow left center field. erick aybar battling the sun and has it for the out. and the inning ends. orioles get the lead back. matt wieters goes opposite field. his third home run as the orioles back on top.

3 1/three in the 3rd and two in the 5th. a three-run 3rd inning. >> jim p: if we want to be positive, we look at the veteran we talked about earlier -- oliver, at age 38. he has been with eight different ball clubs. you could take away three pitches -- you can't take them away. it's not commercial with time- out and take two. but he has made three bad pitches today. and that is a step forward. will he get out of the inning? we will have to see. but to me, here's a guy that -- who you talk about rich hill as conscientious. he had to learn how to pitch again. it will take awhile. he doesn't command his stuff that well. compare to flanagan and mcgetting report and mcnally and people like that -- he has to learn he will have to stay out of the middle of the plate
