and of the rabid right together, we showed the genius of james madison. this is what -- this is what washington is supposed to be. this is how we are supposed to work. and i found, peggy, when the president and congress needed each other it worked better because all of his garbage projects, we struck out of the bills, all of our pork barrel projects he struck out of the bill and it's this created friction madison and the founding fathers understood what made america great. >> host: barack obama is a fortunate man, but if he were more fortunate he would have a republican congress to work with. they would tamper him domestically, they would be reasonable about his foreign policy. >> guest: george w. bush would have been a better president with a democratic congress. >> host: in fact he was better when he had a democratic congress.
10:01 pm
all right, that was a great interview. thanks, joe, very much. >> guest: thank you. ..
10:02 pm
her. >> this is a wonderful book and i just recommend it to everybody. [applause] >> my ego is such when i am in the traffic on the way you're realized it was for the mets
10:03 pm
yankee guest. [laughter] but i am excited to see you here thank you for coming and i apologize for being late. thank you. these are very difficult times i am happy to a that this is not alone by osama. [laughter] [applause] somehow i do not think that aig would sponsor these kind of the events any more. you can do anything but a smile but this is a very, very difficult time in this country. we are not suffering right now because of the recession that started under george bush. we are suffering primarily because of a cure for the recession adopted by barack obama [applause]
10:04 pm
the recession itself began as a normal flow of the capitalist system and is probably ending by about now. it is in china and other countries throughout the world. but it is not here. the reason is it not the disease, it is the consequences of the key here. [applause] what obama did when he took office was to pass a massive stimulus spending program and the stimulus program was never a means to end the recession. the recession was a means to get the stimulus program past [applause] this stimulus program included 80 years of democratic spending dreams, some of which were quite good, at computer
10:05 pm
access, renovating schools, expanding early childhood education, a good stuff, but over eight years when the money is coming and coming when you don't have to borrow wits comment to do it in one week and along with a lot of other garbage in that package that i am sure you know, about like $250,000 for a tattoo removal parlor in a loss and less. and severance is go the idea of tattoo removal of has not been brought saudi at. [laughter] but the idea that this massive spending would somehow lift up the economy is totally wrong. and it was wrong when they did in japan. for 20 years and have had stimulus spending in japan. when they started in 1990 the ratio of debt to the economy was 25%. now it is two and a half times the economy. 250%. over the last 20 years japan
10:06 pm
now has a gdp lower than it did 20 years ago. has done absolutely no good. when bush sent out checks in 2008 it did absolutely no good. the reason is very simple that we explain and "catastrophe" the adm of keynesian economics, the theory has been replaced by rational expectation. that says we're not stupid when we get a check in the mail and we are in danger of losing our jobs courthouses, we do not run out and buy a flat screen tv. thank goodness we buy books. [laughter] so in the month of april the total household income in the united states rose $121 billion. 50 billion of which was the stimulus money coming back to
10:07 pm
us. the savings rose by $131 billion. 10 billion more than a household and come went up. that means we did not spend one dime. we put it all to pay down on credit cards and catch up on the mortgages and paying down bills of those to us or really well off put into treasury bills and those of us who were realistic but in the posture pretax savings program and put it under the mattress. [laughter] the safest place. we did not go out and spend. and obama having spent the money is now running around the world with a tin cup barring $100 billion per week 2 trillion by october 1st. when you try to borrow that much money it drives up interest rates. people will not lend it for
10:08 pm
nothing. so long term interest rates have doubled since he took office and mortgage rates have gone up by a full point* in six weeks. thank you for not 561 i said i worked for clinton but this is not the way he handled a recession. he eliminated the deficit barack obama has quadrupled it. clinton cut mortgage interest rates buy three or four points. , is letting them go up. clinton eliminated the deficit by cutting the capital gains tax from 20 percent down at 20 and i am not crazy you cut that more people sell and buy and there is more transactions and produces more revenue and eliminated of us -- permitted us to eliminate the budget deficit price that in the oval office she literally wrote a budget from memory he did not
10:09 pm
need any thing. he knew all of the 50,000 lines and he wrote a budget and those cuts were completely meaningless the only ones that mattered was the capital gains tax cut because that generated revenues that eliminated the deficit. obama does the opposite. he is increasing the deficit that when you go to borrow money to refinance your home the fed is elbowing you out of the way now the fed knows that if it let interest rates go as high as they can go with this massive borrowing that we will be in the great depression. do you know, what they're doing? they are printing money. they don't call is printing money they say buying treasury securities. or buying stocks but they are buying stuff and putting money that is not there into the economy burma obama's said i will give you always -- give
10:10 pm
all of you a full tank of gas then they went to iran shooting gas into your car and every car in the country was now on goal but people did not want to drive because it was no wing or raining or lousy rather so they put the car into the parking garage and then when the weather improved and the economy got better they come out of the parking garage then they use the gaspar the problem is they will do this all at once. you are no strangers to traffic but this will be incredible inflation because way to much money will be chasing wait too few goods. the total amount of money in circulation has tripled since october 1st. tripled. i don't mean 10 or 20 percent i mean 300% increase it went
10:11 pm
from 800 billion at 2.5 trillion. that money is not being spent sitting under the mattresses or paying down debt. but once the economy starts to recover it will come out massively and you will have unbelievable inflation. that is the catastrophe. we were coming out now we're being hit with higher interest rates and we will go right back and deeper and deeper than we will e eventually begin to recover like capitalism does and when we come back we will be hit with inflation on the back end of that. these diseases of a prolonged and crate -- depression and with inflation and unemployment we may have inflation with the depression all of the consequences that barack obama's determination to pass 1.$4 trillion of new
10:12 pm
spending. not to stimulate the economy but to grow the government. when he took office 33% of the economy went to government, 21 to the fed, 122 state and local. after the spending package it is 39 or 40% and was the healthcare program is approved, that will be 45%. germany is up 47, of france and 50, sweden for god's sakes is only at 54. we're getting up there with the socialist regimes of europe which was his goal all along. the next chapter in our book by the way i am sorry for i just want to explain something about his psychology. barack obama has a european idea in his mind privity is a european social democrats. because he went to college
10:13 pm
junior up -- in europe. [laughter] the charles river is a lot wider than the atlantic ocean. [laughter] he got the european ideal which is distribution of wealth rather than creation, regulation and fairness as a portion by the government rather than freedom and an entrepreneur realism and independent creativity. use i want this sacrifice economic growth? if he is honesty will say yes just like in europe but we have growth for 40 years now it is time to have fairness which is in his view to give money to people that have not worked for it or have not earned it and take it from people that have. but that is his notion of fairness and the european notion. i am for income redistribution i think it is very important that is why we have the most progressive tax system in the world.
10:14 pm
we do more to redistribute income through income tax and any other country in the world. the top 1% in this country makes 21% of the income but it pays 41% of the income tax. the top 10% in this country which is about 100,000 per year, paid 70% of the top 25% which is household income of 75 pays 86% of the tax is. the bottom 50 percent which is less than $48,000 household income pays 3% of the taxes and under obama they will pay o. in fact,, what he will do is take the number of people that don't pay taxes at all and raise it from about 35% to about 55% of the total country then give them the money back
10:15 pm
so the 55% of the people have a party on april 15 and it will be a good day not because of earth day but because they are getting refunds of money that they never paid. it really means 55 for 60% of this country will have a net positive transaction with the irs and will receive money and a smaller and smaller group of people will pay more and more of the taxes and they come politically impotent he could raise taxes as much as the ones. who cares? we don't pay it and we're the majority of the voters. that is the class warfare system that obama's socialism is predicated. >> [inaudible] >> you have that right [applause] >> the top 20 percent may be impotent politically but not financially.
10:16 pm
the top 1% of the country spends one-fifth of the money. the top 25% spend two-thirds of the money and obama is about to realize that you cannot declare war on the productive parts of society. you cannot replace the war on our party with the war on prosperity and have your economy grow. [applause] now that is not the bad news. [laughter] the bad news is what he is planning to do with health care reform. because you can always recover from taxes by repealing them but once he destroys the health-care system in the united states there is no going back. he says he will increase efficiency and healthcare. and that will save enough money so he can cover people that are now not covered.
10:17 pm
what the efficiency means saying no. no. you are 70 years old you cannot have a knee replacement. you are 75 you cannot have a hip replacement. what if i spend my own money? no. said dr. can perform abortions until he is blue in the face but if he gives you a hip replacement after we said no he will lose his license and you are 80 years old and a diabetic you cannot have bypass surgery. i am sorry burger you will die. this is empowering the government to make these kinds of decisions. how will they empower them? because they will end there be a public health care system, a provider and insurance company run by the government which will compete with private firms. that is like the kentucky derby but one of the horses is on steroids. it is getting subsidies from the government and obviously defeat the ones that are not
10:18 pm
getting subsidies then you have the single payer as a government plan. even if that is not the case, the government will use its power over the private companies even if there is no public company to force this ration. the reason is you cannot expand medical care by writing a check for you can expand schools hire some extra teachers. you can do that with defense spending but medical care requires a doctor and a nurse. there are only 800,000 doctors and only 1.4 million nurses to treat the country and they are working like crazy trying to treat 252 million americans to receive health insurance now. if they have to cover another 40 million you're not covered it will mean a less medical care for the rest of us. it is like sleeping with a blanket that is too small
10:19 pm
easier nec get scold or your feet do but unless you grow the blanket that is the choice you face. obviously we need to cover those 40 million people and obviously they are entitled but to in the right way. expand the number of doctors can expand the number of nurses and then expand the number of patience. but do not magically decree will cover them automatically because then the only way you can do it is by rationing and cost control and when he says cost-control he means paid doctors less money and when you pay doctors less money you have the right doctors. right? the cycle perpetuates and gets worse and worse and you end up with a situation that they have been candid up. one of the reasons we rushed this book into print we only finished me six and it was in thus doors six weeks later to get the facts of the canadian health-care system out there
10:20 pm
to the people. canada has a 16% higher cancer death rate and the united states and half as many poor people. and a six percent higher at heart disease death rate. it is the eight week wait and canada for radiation for cancer. it is the eight month waiting canada for a colonoscopy and as a result the incidence of colon cancer and canada is 25% higher than it is in the united states. and the top two medicines that we use for chemotherapy for advanced stage bowling cancer are banned in canada now because of health and safety concerns but they are too expensive. they make patients receive the medication we stop using 10 years ago. as a result if you get colon cancer in canada you have a
10:21 pm
41% chance of dying if you get in the united states to have a 32% chance. the next time you're talking to somebody like your children and their in favor of health insurance tell them if mom got cancer would you like third to have to wait eight weeks to get radiation because there is not enough machines are doctors to go around? because that is a price of one obama is doing. it is not that you will never catch up with a number of doctors because the cost control he is improving -- imposing will reduce doctors and it will create longer and longer delays. four years ago there was only a four week wait last year it went at eight weeks and it is getting worse and worse because the number of doctors is going down and down and that is what barack obama is trying to do to our health-care system and we cannot let him do that [applause]
10:22 pm
we can stop it. in the book "catastrophe" you will find a hit list of all of those democratic congressmen who get elected as conservatives then go to washington and about which ever way nancy pelosi tells them to roach. we are going to go after those people to educate their districts about what they're doing and to defeat them in the election that is coming up [applause] if you go to dick morris.com and enter your address will keep you posted on how to do that as we move through this election season. sometimes what the democrats do is the phony business of voting against what pelosi wants so they can get reelected but then making sure there are 219 that do what she says of the bill passes.
10:23 pm
that is exactly what happened with the cap-and-trade legislation. the cap-and-trade bill, let me say this very clearly, higher utility rates are not an unintended consequence of the cap-and-trade regulation. they are the secret goal. they have decided the way to reduce carbon emissions is make you use less electricity and they're doing that by doubling your utility rates. and they're doing that by taxing plans that use coal to generate electrical power. the goal is to increase the utility rate. they cannot do it as a tax so they call it cap-and-trade which nobody understands what has the same nazi effect. i don't know if you agree with me and there are many here who don't but i honestly believe global warming is happening and i honestly believe a large part of it is man-made.
10:24 pm
i think 2/3 is natural but we cannot stop the volcano's but we can deal with arthur. but look at the facts. half of the carbon emissions in the united states are from cars not from industries or electricity generated plants. when we begin to switch to electric cars which we are about to do, then beyond that switch to hybrid hydrogen cars that will come shortly after that, that will dramatically reduce our current output. where do we get the electricity to fuel the cars? we get it at night and plug it in overnight while we are sleeping and 30% of the power in the country is pretty clean it is nuclear, hydro and solar and wind and all of that which will go up and at night that is all you use because there are no industry is operating during the night so it is off-peak hours year recharge
10:25 pm
your car the next day you drive 60 or 100 miles without using one drop of gasoline and did you drive more than that the gas and gen kicks and you're talking a crash of utilization of gasoline a tremendous reduction of carbon emissions in the united states. far more than cap-and-trade will ever cause in the utility business. . .
10:26 pm
>> now, obama's plan is largely covert. he is getting one horse in every race. he has gm that is going to compete with ford. he has banks that get t.a.r.p. money that compete with banks that don't get tarp money. he will have a public health insurance plan that is going to compete with the private health insurance plays, and he say, you're saying private is america efficient. you're saying government can't run anything? won't they win the competition? no, you so and so, your subsidizing them. you're writing them a blank check. and we are borrowing the money. the point is if you're subsidizing the companies they're going to win the competition because there is no competition, and the future of general motors is obvious. they could become profitable
10:27 pm
itch it didn't have to produce cars that nobody wants to buy. if it could produce the suvs that everybody wants to buy, general motors could be highly profitable but they're not going to let gm violate the mileage standards. so gm will produce cars nobody wants to bike it's not going to be profitable, but 60,000 auto workers went lose their jobs. that's not a problem, but losing the union memberships and dues is obama's problem so he is going to keep general motors alive at our expense forever and ever and ever, and it will become just like the industries that the chinese government subsidizes with 40% of their budget that produce nothing of any consequence, nobody wants what they make, but they employ a couple hundred million people and the chinese government can't stop subsidizing them because they will have a revolution on their hands. that's the system he is bringing
10:28 pm
to the united states. when he was elected the biggest thing's mortgage foreclosures. he has been president for six months now. do you know that in the last month, there were 411,000 mortgage foreclosures and there are only 11,500 mortgage workouts? it's because nobody is eligible for his program. if you have fallen behind in your mortgages you're not eligible. if you're current in your mortgages you're not eligible. if you're in foreclosure, you're not eligible, but if you're current your not eligible. you have to be like one month or two months behind and then you're eligible, unless you're part of the half of all mortgage is that north guaranteed by fannie mae, unless your mortgage is not under 750,000, unless it's not your primary residence, and so on and so on and so on. unless once he refinances, you're not paying more than 31% of your income in mortgage
10:29 pm
finances. so nobody is eligible. you lost your job, you're not eligible. that's why the foreclosures are continuing, and it shows the hypocrisy of his crocodile tears. they should do what they did in sweden, which is to buy the mortgages and the homes. say you have a new lender, the government. a new landlord, the government. and we want you to pay us what you and can keep your homes, and when this digs over -- depression is over we want you to repay us the amount you put in. he won't do that because you have to throw people out of their homes if they don't do the refinancing once the thing is over and you come to them and say, okay, now you have to sell your house and pay me back the money i lent you, or now you have to refinance and pay me back and they say no, the government doesn't want to be
10:30 pm
carting people out of their homes. in sweden, they bit the belowlet and they did and got through the crisis with very few people losing their homes and the government of sweden made a profit on the deal. we could, too. it's just that obama doesn't have the guts to do that. now to accomplish the changes that barack obama has in mind, he is going to have to usher in not just a re-election, not just a congressional victory in 2010, but a 20-year period of political domination by the left wing of the democratic party, and the way he plans to do it, we outline in a chapter in this book. first he is going to cook the census by counting people that aren't there. they call that sampling, and it reminds very much of when our constitution was written. the slaveholders said, count all the slaves as 5-8s of a person. they can't vote and we buy and
10:31 pm
sell them like cattle but count them so we can get the extra votes in congress. that's essentially what they're nothing reverse. the second thing is to coerce people into labor unions, union membership, union membership dropped from a quarter of the work force to 12%. he is going bring it back to 16 or 18% and give those people the discipline of being in a labor union to try to control their votes. now, right now the way you get a union election you check off on a card, yes, wasn't the election, and if a majority of the people check yes, the workers in a factory, they get to have an election, which is by secret ballot. what's the point of the election? a majority haven't checked it off already. what do you need the election for? the fact it that three-quarters of the time the union loses the secret ballot election because people are coerced into checking off the cards. their visited at their home by
10:32 pm
the shop steward, the person in charm -- charge of their employment and pressures them to sign the card. then they turn round and vote against the union in the secret ballot. so obama is going eliminate the secret ballot and the checkoff cards will be enough to form a union. then if the employer doesn't reach a deal with the union in six months the federal government, department of labor, will impose an agreement by arbitration no appeal no capacity to go around it. the third thing he is going to do is open the borders and incentivize illegal immigration. one of the key goals of his health care procedures, his health carry reforms, is to extend health care to legal immigrants. when you couple that with his almost automatic amnesty plan for illegal immigrants, it means in effect he is going to be covering illegal immigrants,
10:33 pm
which means you sweeten the pot of gold on this side of the border and you incentivize jumping the wall because on the other side is not just a job but health care for your family, and that expansion of the illegal immigrant population, that then is legalized and then is incentivized and is made citizens, and then votes, is a key part of the democratic plan for political domination. the final part is he is going to muzzle talk radio. now, he is not going to musesle talk radio the way you thought, in the fairness doctrine. he has something for more diabolic. he is going to require all talk radio stations, all news talk radio stations to have community advisory boards that will advise the station on how well it is
10:34 pm
addressing community concerns. now, you think that's what the ratings are for. 40% of the community is listening to us you assume it's addressing communities concerns, if not, it goes out of business and we get a new radio station. they're going to take wabc, wor, get all the al sharpton types and put them on a community board to advise abc whether the season hannity show is meeting communities need, and then the licensing, used to be renewed every six years, now it's renewed every two years, and the board will have a statutory ability to make inputs to the fcc on whether that station should be renewed or not. and across the board they're going to cancel those licenses and give the frequency to station owners that will run
10:35 pm
left wing programming. if they don't close the station down, the new law passed by the fcc that doesn't need congressional approval, gives them the right to fine those radio stations, and millions of dollars, and you know who the fine is payable to? national public radio. they get the check. so, this is a massive redistribution of the air power away from the right and toward the left. so, that is the plan for political domination in this country. now, one of the things we talk about in this book, pardon me me for taking so much of your time but there's a lot in here. [applause] >> thank you. part of what we talk about in this book is the total surrender in the war on terror. do you realize that obama in his first week as president chose not to prosecute the guy who
10:36 pm
blew up the cole? the judge said we want a whole -- no i'm sorry. the judge said, let's proceed with the trial, and obama said, i don't want to do it now because i need to come up with a plan for detainees in guantanamo, give may six-month delay, and the judge said, no. you got to proceed right now. and then instead of proceeding, obama dropped the case. and now that guy is protected by double-jeopardy, and officially can got -- the dealt penalty cannot even be considered for this guy who killed 17 u.s. sailors. what? why does he have the right is a good question. but he does. and what obama is doing now is releasing people from guantanamo, and he is pointed to the justice -- appointed to the justice department people that are aggressive and smart and strong and wiley in the task of
10:37 pm
rooting out the interrogators who protected us from terrorists for the last eight years. not going after the tore terrorist is but the investigators. we're watching obama blight blither and dither and there's a freedom going on that could spare the world its likely first atomic war, and he is doing no i'm wrong. excuse me. hillary clinton has really taken the lead on this. hillary clinton announced three days ago that she is disinviting the iranian diplomats from the u.s. embassies for the july 4th celebrations. no more hot dogs. [laughter] >> now, if you feel cut off the flow of hot dogs to iran is not
10:38 pm
the most potent thing we can do, let me suggest an alternative. instead of cutting off the flow of hot dogs, let's cut off the flow of gasoline. 40% of iran's gasoline has to be imported because they don't have refineries there, and three-quarters of their imported gasoline comes from a refinery in dubai that is owned and operated by reliance industries, an indian company, and is part of our part with india. the u.s. expert-import, you, put up a $500 million guarantee of the loan to expand and rennovate that refinery. so we are funding the refinery that provides iran with its gasoline. now, two very good congressmen, a good democrat named sherman from california, and a good republican named kirk from illinois, have introduced an amendment to cut off that loan guarantee. and it has passed the house
10:39 pm
appropriation subcommitey three days ago. obama needs to endorse that and send the signal to the ayatollah that we're not going to put up with this stuff on the streets of iran, and if they do his security forces can walk home. [applause] >> finally, want it to talk about one of though most scary things there is and that is called sharia law. sharia law is the law that governs the islamic community, and parts it are very good, things like don't drink and gambling and pornography and don't eat pork and stuff like that. part of it is stone woman for adultery, amputate limbs of people caught stealing. all kinds of horrible stuff that literally men have all the
10:40 pm
rights and women have absolutely none. so, every major financial institution in the world in the western world, has set up a sharia compliant fund, dow jones what's first one. citicorp has it, aeg has it, morgan stanley, painewebber, all of them, merrill lynch, bank of america have sharia compliant funds, and this means that if you're a muslim wanting to make an investment you can put your money in that fund and be confident that none of it will go to activities prohibited by sharia law, which makes some sense. the problem is that these financial institutions have put in place sharia compliance boards which are staffed by the most reactionary, right wing, islam mow fascists the world. we have cited five or six that had to be removed from the
10:41 pm
boards because they're on the fbi's terror watch list, and these folks are going to make the decision on where the sharia compliant funding goes, and currently there's $800 billion globally under management by sharia compliant funds, and if they get together with the sovereign wealth funds of countries like qatar and kuwait and dubai, you can get that up to $3 trillion and $4 trillion, and not only do the eye mams decide where the money is invested, they allocate the part of your portfolio goes to charities and they decide the charities and they're all hezbollah fronts. their record of designated charities that were busted under the bush administration is enormous, and if you run afoul of sharia lie, like you're a trucking firm and one day you put pigs in your truck you have
10:42 pm
to pay a 7.5% fine and they decide where that money goes. in this back, we have something called the action agenda, that tells you how to fight back. and frank gaffney, the former undersecretary of defense, head of the center for policy, has launched a lawsuit. correction, backing a lawsuiting against aeg. it's really cool. he says that aeg sharia compliance fund is an act of the government which now owns 80% of aeg, and as a result violates the separation of church and state. because it's government funding an institution of religion. [applause] >> now, ain't that cool. and that lawsuit needs money, and it needs support, and it needs friends, and please consults the part of the back where i give you the place to
10:43 pm
send all that. so we are at a crucial crossroad here, and president obama has lost 12 points of job approval in the last 12 weeks. applause. >> gallup has him dropping from 70 to 58. was muse send has him dropping from 65 to 53. i prefer was muse -- when he drops from 63 to 52, that's share of the vote. so at that point he is shedding votes, and he is doing everything he can to drop his job approval. he is screwing up the health care system, doubling utility rates, going to race taxes on the middle class as a result of his health insurance program, but he is going to do that after the programs are passed and he literally needs to make it
10:44 pm
through this summer, get health care passed, get cap and trade passed, get illegal immigration passed and then in september and october let his rate goings to hell because he got all this through, and i believe obama may be the last sincere idealist in american politics. i think he would rather pass his agenda than get re-elected. his first priority is to make us into france and germany and sweden, and that's his plan, and we can't let it happen. [applause] >> so the crucial time is right now. now, i know that all of us felt really disempowered in the last election because we all lived in states that were hopelessly blue and there was not much chance of being able to turn them around. now that works to your advantage because everybody you know is a
10:45 pm
democrat. right? so you all know people who voted for obama. you all know people like that. so, go and talk to them. read the book. it's why we wrote it. learn the facts and statistics in it. argue it. push it. and get people to switch on this health care position. and, boy, that's polled every single day, and as the fair polling question suggests, not the unfair one which is, do you want to have everybody covered but the one that explains everything that is going on that the politicians follow, this is right on the fence right now. clearly they cannot get 60 votes in the senate but they will probably try to pass it with 51. they may not get 51. and being able to leverage people, the senator from new york, brand, who's running for re-election and is appointed, being able to get people like that to focus on this stuff is really very, very important. the last thing i for goetz to
10:46 pm
talk about i want to mention. the state of israel is in absolute dire, desperate straits at the moment because of obama policies. the united states is really positions itself against israel inch fact in this book we reveal they have come up with a $1 billion aid package that goes to the united nations refugee relief agency in the gaza strip and the west bank, which is a passthrough to hamas, an absolute passthrough, and we indicate what is going on here, and it's absolutely important for those of us who are concerned about the state of israel to got ahold of mr. chuck schumer who says that he is a fan of the state of israel and really tell him that this is the

time to put up or shut up. because he could turn obama around on this issue if he wanted to. and pressuring him and letting him know how you feel is terribly, terribly important. so this book is not only to educate you, it's to give you homework assignments, and please, work like hell. thank you. [applause] >> folks, i'm a little conflicted here because you waited so long for book signing, so let me take three or four questions. >> please wait for the microphone to get to you before you ask a question. >> this woman here is desperate. >> hi. my brother-in-law is dr. dave

wheldon, conservative congressman from florida. you probably know him. >> yep. >> i asked him to ask a question. will the republicans win the house and the senate in 2010? >> the republicans are going to do very well, and win in effect the elections of 2010. [applause] >> whether they will actually be able to win control or not is something we just don't know at this point. but they will clearly have a very large net gain of seats. you need 38 switches in the house to get control. and that's tough. but i can see 10 or 15 i think they would win right now. and i think each passing month it looks better and better for them. the senate is a tougher story because the seats that are up are largely republican seats. there's a disproportionate number of republicans who are up this year. because the -- this is the

election of 2010, can and they were last elected in 2004. that was a pretty good republican year. so the disproportionate up in -- number of the seats are republican and there's in solid democratic states. but that's not necessarily treason -- reason to give up hope. the issue is not mathematics. the issue is fear. if you knock off four or five incumbent democratic senators and flip two or three open seats, even though they would have 53 votes, they're not going to use it because they're scared to death. and if in the house of representatives, if the democrats took a ten-seat margin in the house, they would pass everything, but if it's a 38-seat margin, it collapses to ten seats and they're scared to death they look at the guys pushing up tombstonesstones ande

car switching votes. the closer the votes get, the closer the democratic control gets, the more the leadership can't let them off the look and pass the bill. so they can't do the hypocrisy they just did when they were for cap and trade but pretends they're against it once pelosi convinces them it's going to pass anyway. so the spirit of the question is,ey, we will win the election. whether we will actually take control or not depends on how hard we work and how much we do white shirt in the back standing, glasses. you. >> i want to say it's a real honor to speak in front of you. probably one of your youngest supporters. i really agree with you so much. i go to a liberal university, and to larry you speak sometimes it's like, you know. my question to you is, i listen to a lot of fox news.

rob speaks about how he is antifederal reserve and he has legislation pending in the house about ordering the federal reserve and i believe senator demeant has a counterpart. how do you think about getting rid of the reserve altogether? >> i don't think you can get rid of the federal reserve. it's too important and it was adopted in 1914, 1913, because there were panics every ten years, and there was no way to manage them. and bear in mind that we have not had -- we have had one horrible depression 1930s, that was in the early 80s and that was manmade because of inflation. this is the first one that is unmanmade. so they have done a pretty good job. but bernanke has gone completely nuts. absolute power corrupts absolutely, forcing that

marriage -- i mean, they don't have shotgun marriages anymore unless you're a bank. that merrill lynch, that was incredible what he did to the bank of america, and there's a serious concern about the fed overreaching. the thing i'm more concerned about than that are two things. first, the inflation that we talked about. where the fed has just gone crazy in terms of printing money. such so it might not even be just be inflation, night not be 18% inflation. it might be a whole loves faith in current currency. might destroy though global economy because all the nations of the world are doing it at once. everybody is doing it at once. and that could be very, very serious. the second thing i'm really concerned about, there's a chapter in our book that the

declaration of independence has been repealed. obama went to the g20 summit, which is now g and -- g7, really responsible countries like argentina. those countries created a global system of financial regulation. your new boss is called the financial stability board. it's headed by a central banker in italy, and they will formulate, according to the g20 communique which we signed on to global policies about regulation of derivatives, financial instruments, investment practices, and executive pay, in quote, all industries. unquote. i didn't say all financial. i said, all. and what you're going to look at here is that the united states will sit at the table, come to joint resolutions on these issues, and then tell the sec

and the federal reserve board, you have to implement those. it's the bargain we struck, and you have to stand by it. which means that these enormous powers will no longer go to people who are appoint bid an elected president and confirmed by an elected senate but will go to people who aren't even americans, and it become as very dangerous thing. and threatens to really integrate us into the european union. the biggest threat to democracy is not socialism. even obama. he is not going to mess with our right to vote. and it's not the terrorists. they're going to blow us up but not take us over. it's the bureaucrat, a self-elected elet that fans 'yes itself acting independent of the public will for the public good, usurps this power, and you see that in the european union. in in the european parliament

they're not allowed to introduce legislation, they can only vote yes or no, and that international bureaucracy overcoming the nation state democracy system is a key threat to our freedom and we went too far down the road at the g20 summit doing that. >> this gentleman standing here. yes. >> didn't president obama say he was not going to raise taxes on people that have incomes less than 250,000, and then biden said 150,000. if he lets the bush tax cut die won't we all get a raise. >> he is saying he will not let the tax cut die that affect people in middle and lower income. he is only going to deal with the 39.6 and 35 brackets -- i'm sorry -- 35 and 33, going to raid them to 40 and 35.

but it's very clear, number one, that for his halve -- health insurance program he is going raise taxes. he is going to make the health insurance money that your employer pays taxable on your return. so you're going to add up all the money on your w-2 and then have to add 8 or 10 how to that you never got that your employer paid an your behalf for insurance and that's taxable income for you you have to pay. one of the things that drove me completely insane in the last week, he is proposing that apply that to everybody except union members. if your health insurance is a result of a collective bargaining agreement, it will not be a taxable event the supreme court is going to throw that out because it violates equal protection clause but not before we going through two or three years paying that tax.

the thresholds has dropped from 250,000 basically to about 100. if you have a household income of more than 100, more than about 90, it puts you in the top 20% and you're going to see a tax increase. and it doesn't include the utility increase. your con ed bill will double over the next four years because of the cap and trade regulation. and long island -- that's right. okay. i mean it will be -- now, listen, i'm sorry. i would love to take your questions but i'm going to be signing books and you can ask me as you go whizzing by, and if don't do it -- [applause] >> i'm going to -- the. >> dick morris was a campaign adviser to former president bill clinton and works as a political analyst for fox news channel. also author of four other books.
