week one is finally here, and our rankings and projections are up on espn.com's pages. one of my big surprises is fred jackson is the number one running back in our projections. we expect a big day against new england. number two is deangelo williams. that's a surprise as well. philadelphia, usually a stout defense, but without the number one middle linebacker and a secondary that scares me and a defensive coordinator, i think deangelo williams will have a huge game at home against philadelphia. quarterback, i have matt hasselbeck in my top 10 this week, playing the rams hasn't lost to them in years. i expect hasselbeck and t.j. houshmandzadeh to have a great first game together. i think you can make the case that matt hasselbeck is a top-10 play for week number one and as the season goes on we'll see how he does against other defenses but this week, matt hasselbeck, i like him. fred jackson, i think we all like him and, of course, deangelo williams a monster week coming. i'm eric karabell. check us out. espn.com.
