 we feel that if need be h can make the transition or stay at shortstop but you know. the debut has been hard to find any fault in it so far. he has been spectacular. how difficult is it not to be tricked by blood play in september. september within you are in a position we're in and the players are relaxed here. it is a different feel than you get through the long haul of the season. we're optimistic bought cautious. we take everything with a grain of salt. and it can fool you. tim foley has been helpful.

to be around in the conference race in november.a cr >> what sort of movement. would you like to see most from your freshman quarterback kevin prince? >> i just want him to get more comfortable. it was hard for him to get comfortable yesterday. you have to give credit to the monte kiffin defense. he's got to be able to make those throws he makes in practice routinely.toudo and you know, he's growing in the position, but he certainly can play better. >> you walked on at u.c.l.a. as a quarterback. how would you compare your game as a freshman to his? >> i never even saw the field as a freshman. >> i know. how would you compare your game? >> he's a much better athlete. that's one rule i have. i only recruit people who are better than i am. >> what does he bring to your team when he's on in >> he's got all the intangibles. he's got all the stuff you look for. he's got to get comfortable and play as well as he's capable of playing. we saw glimpse of that in the san diego state game. we saw some real good plays
