5:41 pm
you just like the effort. you like your bigs to go after shots. when you can step in some. i like the bigs that challenge every shot. what does that do? it makes the offensive guys think twice the next time about going in there. pretty good numbers for casto, 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 blocked shots. >> barry: i'll say. theo robertson goes to the line to try to put the bears ahead. >> don: there's been four lead changes in the last 4:30 after the cougars have led for 25 minutes. >> barry: they go for two. >> don: robertson, a pretty good free-throw shooter. 80% on the season. the first one he missed badly. >> barry: the cougs with the ball and the lead. koprivica, great look. couldn't get it, though.

5:44 pm
>> barry: they have that rule here. in the nba they have a painted circle. >> don: yes. >> barry: they don't have it here. i'm not quite sure why. i'm sure that was the call. moore makes both free throws and gives his team the lead again. moore in the second half with eight points. he didn't take a shot in the first half. spent ten minutes in the first half on the bench with two fouls. >> don: washington state's going to grind this game out. reggie moore will probably have to make some plays and score some more. >> barry: robertson lost it. klay thompson gets it for the cougs. he loses it to christopher. christopher can't get it. it comes down in the hands of capers. here comes washington state. 1 on 4, capers out of control that time. >> don: yes. i was thinking the whole time, barry, he was taking that down there, i bet you ken bone would want him to pull that back and run offense. you're get deep into this game. it's a one-point game. give yourself a chance. he didn't have numbers. he was going one-on-three that
5:45 pm
time. >> barry: ninth turnover of the second half for the cougars. and capers remains on randle. he's done a great job on him. and a foul away from the ball on capers. fourth personal foul on capers. and that's huge. >> don: you've been pretty good on randle in stretches. i mean, randle's gotten his, got 18 today. but capers has bothered him a litt it, i think. you're right. i think they need to finish the game with capers. >> barry: they have to take it to capers right now. he's on the floor with four fouls. they haven't been able to substitute him. capers got underneath him. >> don: stepped through, showed him the ball. given up inches but stepped through for the layup. good play by gutierrez. >> barry: the bears back in front. gutierrez with 11. reggie moore, the floater, too hard. thompson keeps it alive.

he's proven he can take cal's defenders off the dribble and then, yes, just get it up there on the rim and hopefully koprivica or casto, whoever's in the game can go get you the stick back. you see more contested by boykin and koprivica. that's what happens. you throw him over there to contest and that leaves the board wide open. >> barry: cal leads it by a point. they'll have the ball, 4:02 remaining to be played in the ball game. four points, the biggest lead the bears have had in this game. klay thompson, 28 points. 23 came bang-bang in the first half. >> don: he had to figure he wasn't going to get as loose. mike montgomery, too good of a strategist. the guy's got pride. they don't want to see a guy come in their building and light them up for 40. the team as a whole, cal, defensively, has been better in the second half.
5:50 pm
they've been more up and into it. they've limited klay thompson. on the flip side, klay thompson has to be involved here in the last four minutes if you're washington state. >> barry: the bears to inbound. full court pressure. it's kind of token pressure by the cougars. and randle will bring it across. inside of four minutes remaining in the game. gutierrez. started by koprivica. now christopher, robertson tried to go across to boykin. a good job to step in front once again by koprivica. we'll take a time-out.
