i hear you're going to carry me. it seems like you're not talking about basketball games and how to win them, you're talking about all the drama that's going on and obviously the andray blatche story was story of the team boykins especially in a game like last, you were on track to win. boykins it did all start last night against the charlotte bob cats. andray blatche played 7 minutes before he was benched. coach said he told coaches he wasn't going if play. andray coming out saying it's not true, telling our mike jones, so this is how it kind of all played out starting last night in postgame after the loss to the bob cats. boykins took him out of the game, wanted to talk to him about not getting become on

defense and not cross-checking where mike got handled of he didn't want to hear it. told him if you don't want to talk, you don't play. he said he didn't want to play. 15 years, never seen anything like that. >> anybody that was at the game, they would sit front row or first oar second row, i was on the bench, had a heat pack on getting ready to play. [indiscernible] had the two coaches come out and say -- you could not find a 3. you can't find one boykins no matter what, koefrps aren't wrong. when a coach wants to teach you something and you think you're above that because you played 16 games, good games, i had kevin garnett, that guy you say one thing, what do you want coach, he never copped that type of attitude.

that's ridiculous. i'm extremely -- i am disappointed. i'm the most disappointed i've ever been in 15 years with a player boykins i'm not out here to make my coach out like a bad person and it's all a big misunderstanding. i never said a word and i'm not going to be accountable for those words because i never said the words boykins this kind of stuff shouldn't be happening between how what is now ought star player for the washington wizards and you kind of got to fault both sides for engaging it in publically. reportedly this morning they had a meeting where flip saunders told the rest of the players that he didn't want to come back in the game talking about andray and let them down. then andray stepped up and said no that's true not. he starts tonight. what does that say? what kind of message is that sending the rest of the team when you're flip saunders trying to control this team and trying to get them back it winning ways? boykins it's crazy.

i got to get back to the bottom line figure out exactly what happened. flip said he didn't want to go in the game, his assistant said he didn't want to go in the game. if that actually happened and you allow the guy to come back and play, i think it says volumes about the team. if andray did not say it and you have coaches saying he did say it when he didn't, i think that's a whole other set of problems. it was consistent with how dysfunctional everything has been to some degree with the washington wizards. if he said in fact i don't want to go back in the game and you allow him to go back in the game, that can't happen. that sends a bad message to your team, i think it sends a bad message to the young kids that are watching the game of basketball that they think that that type of action can take place. and the other side if he never said it at all, how did the get to the point where flip saunders got to angry in the press conference? there's a disconnect somewhere. the best

thing i can say about all this, it is in the past and now you have to move on but something like this can't continue to go on. >> but it is reflective of the dysfunction of this organization. gilbert arenas, hello, where are we with this guy? boykins you liken it to the redskins. seems like every time we go away and start getting on the basketball track, something aside from ball, something aside always seems to distract you from what should be going on. the xs and os. boykins it's time to go back out to indiana to check this our game announcers, steve buckhantz and phil chenier. they join from us indiana. obviously this didn't stop andray blatche in this 1st quarter, gets the ball rolling for the whiz. but how is the rest of the team reacting? boykins i would assume the team is trying to get

tries to do a little too much in terms of passing the ball and gets himself in trouble. but i like what we saw in the first half. >> phil: r- >> like what we saw from james singleton tonight. he's been doing it since he was with the wizards and his numbers were astronomical. he missed his career high in points boykins we're talking about a guy coming off the bench in 35 minutes, six of those offensive rebounds again. he just provides a lots of hustle and energy. when you talk about getting offensive rebounds, a lot of times that's what it is. that extra effort. >> so kelli as you and ron said moments ago the best thing about it it's behind them. whether there will be anything that liningers remains to be seen. but they did put everything behind them for now. blatche getting the start. they have to go to sharpt and try to snap this 13-game losing

streak that ties the tran chis high boykins guys when you're struggling like this and you have this extra drama and distractions with a young team really looking for leadership, what do you get in a sense of how they look at flip saunders? are they buying into what he's coaching and try to do? boykins hopefully that's where you have to have ta experienced leadership. i mean, andray we said is the longest tenured player but certainly they look up to sam cassell. but randy and the rest of them are trying it give them good advice and leadership boykins we understand flip saunders is addressing the media. let's send you there right now boykins didn't shoot the ball well, the whole game, only shot 32% early. finished the half poorly. we had 41-40 and you know we

ended up going down 7 at the half which hurt us a lot. came out the second half, again, all of a sudden we're down a couple 3s and they're down big double digits and couldn't get it back boykins your defense kinds of got -- boykins you know we had trouble getting in the sense, getting sense. the only player we had tonight james was unbelievable. we played him a lot of minutes. he came off a a big game as far as last night, he played well. we have to troebl look at making some line-up changes boykins you tied the franchise record for losses boykins i didn't know what it was. our guys aren't looking at that. we're looking at you know, trying to be competitive and look ahead of the reason we're getting beat is teams are better than us. we're not very good right now boykins what's your biggest concern in these 13 losses? boykins well, i mean it's --

biggest concern is we lost. we weren't versus competitive tonight. we just haven't had overall consistent play. we were relying on a few guys to carry us. we're young an we're not as talented as the teams we're playing against boykins haven't scored a hundred points in any of these boykins we're not as talented as i just said. we had to start him he's playing too good. we had a situation here, we're trying to evaluate players but at some point, you have to evaluate but you also have to be aware of the guys that are doing things and producing in a limited time boykins how do you think dre played boykins i think he did okay. he got a lot of shots blocked. you know they got into him with some of their size. they were just -- boykins as head coach flip saunders talking after the wizards 13th straight loss.

he was pretty blunt, other teams are just better than us. they're mortalitied than our players. >> he hit the nail right on the head. ate situation where once you start to lock in and zero in on andray blatche, who is going to be the other guys who step up, if going to be randy foye? is it going to be mike miller. for example, andray got out of the gates well, ended up with 16 points at halftime. then out of halftime, indiana says you know what, let's give him a little more attention, stop him from scoring and make some of the other place guice beat us and they don't have in their arsenal for another guy to step up on a consistent basis to carry the load. he just said we're not as good as some of these other teams. he said a few days ago when i thought was perfect, for us to have a chance to win, a chance to win, we have to play well and play with energy. to have a chance to win. just think how many times in this league if they play well they're going to well boykins --

he's saying for us to have a chance boykins nearly perfect. you're young, you're inexperienced you're changing your roster on a day-to-day basis. how do you develop chemistry when you got all these guys coming from a different base? >> what they're trying to do is simply hold on. they're trying to keep the year together. flip saunders has given the talent pool he's had this year i think he's done an incredible job. half a year you had one group of guys and you trade two all stars, you bring in all these d league guys. you give them slightly more boost. when you don't have the talent, when you don't have that guy when things are sputtering with the first unit you can go to the bench and lift you up. but given the talent pool that he's had, he's done a good a a job as he could do boykins hard to believe we're talking about an nba team. we've got much more on the way when wiz wards postgame live returns. we're going to take a look at

five points every single year that he was in this league. last year he was top five in the league at scoring at 25. he's only 23 points a game this year boykins just 23. he's down a little bit. this is a down year for him. you know, the silver lining for the wizards no question, james singleton playing in fronts of his dad tonight and he drops 19 points a career high 21 rebounds. he was a beast on the boards and this is a guy who what's his position? >> phil: you are know what his position is? coach whatever you want me to do, i'll do t he was all over the place. he was one of the few guys that i thought that parted right from the beginning. he has a blue collar game. as you said you try to figure out is he a three, four, a five, he's one of those guys that is out there getting it done. he had eight rebounds alone in the 1st quarter and he used that part of the game to get him going in other areas. i've been impressed kelli with his ability to knock down the

faceup jump shot around 18-foot range. but tonight he did all he could to help andray blatche in the scoring column and i like

. well, gilbert arenas will be stebsd friday on one count of felony gun possession. prosecutors are recommending jail time asking for three months behind bars. his lawyers have asked that there not be any jail time, he would be better served perhaps doing more community work, talking to kids about guns and

doing those kind of things. what do you think is going through his head right now? boykins i think his emotions are running the entire gamut. i think there's a situation where there is angst, anger, sadness. i can only imagine what it's like to have your fate rest upon someone else's shoulders. i think it's a situation where he's sitting at home thinking if i was just a little more careful, if i was just a little wiser, i wish i could turn back the hands and time and redo what occurred, i think his actions would be totally different. but he's got to be on pins and needles. you want to hurry up and know what the decision is but do have to really know. he's thinking i'm doing all i can to make sure i get out and reach the community and reach the kids to let them know what occurred shouldn't happen. but i know he's got to be just i feel for him right now. i would feel for anyone in this

injuries you know and is fighting his way back from that. on the court. you know and i think that he's -- he wants to find his rhythm find where he fits in, make the team better. i think he can change his role as far as whatever the team needs. we've talked in the past of playing together again. you know, we'll see what happens. boykins interesting comment there. we'll get to that in a second. how do you think gilbert arenas will be received by the fans and around the nba? boykins i think when he comes back, he'll be received great. i think the washington area fans are a forgiving fans. i think once he comes out sincerely does his community service if it's time. the one thing about the area is they will forgive him. and he's acquired a huge following in the area. i think once he goes on the road, he'll hear a smatter of boos and a little heckeling

organizational standpoint. if it did not happen, why did your assistants tell you it happened. either way there's a huge disconnect, a huge distraction that doesn't need to take place given this organization and this team. secondly, andray came on and said he never did anything like that and we know flip tried to communicate something to him, he didn't listen to him and walked away. that's wrong. >> clearly blatche quantity distractsed, he jumps in this game, 12 points in the 1st quarter, finished with 21. he came out and doing what he's been doing boykins his mind is clear and free. that's what makes this whole situation dispointing because andray blatche is a talented player. you can work on it all summer and in a game situation instinctively you'll never be able to do it. he gave theinsins pacers absolutely fits, 12 points in the 1st quarter, 16 points at

half, that's a 7-footer that you start shooting at 3 and the next play he goes done to the block an finishes strong. so he has a lot in his package and they need him right now so be the andray blatche that he is to finish out this season on a positive notes as possible boykins i know it was their 13th loss but i like to talk it about a player that works hard and that is james singleton. 19 points, 21 boards boykins he's one of those guys that you ultimately end up rooting for every single night. had he a career high game with 21 rebounds, 19 points but he got himself going off and wizards definitely needed his help. he didn't have sk coach flip saunders to run plays for him, he didn't ask him to clear o-out sides, he got it the old fagsed way, he earned it. he brought his energy by crashing the boards, filling the lanes, doing the little things. i'm impressed with singleton's ability to knock down

the presiding officer: the senator from new hampshire. mr. gregg: this amendment addresses what is a core problem that we have with our health care system which is the fact that every year we cut our doctors' pay, those doctors who deliver medicare services. this year they'll be cut 21%. this amendment restores that pay so that those cuts don't occur for a period of three years. this is known as the doctors' fix. it should have been in the bill to begin with. the reason it wasn't in the bill was because the other side wanted -- could not put it in the bill because of its cost and they did not want to be in a situation where they were throwing their budget -- the presiding officer: will the senator suspend. the senate is not in order. mr. gregg: the reason it was not in the bill is because the score is $250 billion over, $280 billion over ten years. the other side didn't want to absorb that score because it would have thrown the entire bill out of whack relative to the budget.

we have come up with a way to address this doctor problem that is paid for, for three years. let's do it. let's take care of these doctors delivering these services so they'll continue to deliver services to medicare recipients. the presiding officer: the senator from montana. mr. baucus: mr. president, the senator from new hampshire and i kid each other about this. the fact is this is another killer amendment. it's apparent that it's designed to kill this bill. why do i say that? because on october 21 of last year, the sponsors of this amendment and every other senator on that side of the aisle voted against invoking cloture on a bill to accomplish the very same thing that they profess the desire at this point. also, we've been advised by the congressional budget office that it is not paid for. according to c.b.o., recently sent us a note the gregg amendment would increase the deficit by $65 billion over the next five years.
