that josh howard injured his knee. the wizards are feeling pretty good. they come off a win with the hornets but against houston. against the hornets they got a terrific game from mike miller who was cutting down the paint, getting some layups. that was an offense they put in about a week ago and ran it well. >> we saw the wizards get a lot of points in the paint in the last two games. mike miller was a big part of that especially in the game against new orleans. we had a new season high in that game. the interesting thing he shot 9 of 14. that is pretty good. he missed his 1st 3 shots of the game. went on to have a season high in points. he knocked down the 3. he is still 3rd in the league in that department. this is one of those plays we

basketball ohio state turner has been named associate press college basketball player of the year. university of virginia has had plenty of success this season. they have won titles in wrestling, diving. that was just during the fall and winter. spring sports are now underway and the momentum has continued. >> every team wants to be at the top and the virginia cavaliers have 3 teams sitting on top the national ranking. the baseball team returns all the 4 starters from last

season's squad and went all the way to the college world series. >> we have a lot of veterans that know how to win and we have a lot of verse till ate. >> we were all real close and saying we are comfortable with each other. we hang out on and off the field all the time. the freshmen fit in great. they work hard and have earned our respect coming in here. it is a good bunch of guys that we hang out all the time. >> the charlottesville common ate adds to the success. >> it shows the development and growth of our program. >> the men's tennis team is no stranger to the number one

ranking. they haven't been able to capture the ncaa crown. >> we know that we have to rise up to the occasion and we kind of enjoy it. so i think at the same time there is something there, there is a job there that we haven't finished but we look forward to getting that done. >> and men's lacrosse has always been impressive in charlottesville. >> i feel like we are almost always going to get somebody's best shot. if we are the team that we hope to be and we are playing in the month of may we are probably playing from the favorites position more often than not anyway so we need to be prepared to deal with those things. >> the pride extends to all the teams. >> looking at our programs

across the board and with the leadership it is not just baseball and lacrosse but a number of our sports are spending a lot of time in the top 10. it is a great honor to coach as a school that i believe so much in and certainly there is a love and am proud to be affiliated with such a strong athletic department. along. former oriole greg passed away today. oriole fans always remember him pitching a complete game against the big red machine, jumping into the arms of brooks robertson to celebrate. of course, he is part of that 1970 oriole's rotation that had

baseball game. yankees went up 4-0. not all bad for baltimore. new york would score 2 in the 9th and yes the game finishes in a 6-6 tie. in washington final preparations are underway at nationals park as the nats get ready for opening day. president obama will throw out the 1st pitch. baseball season is definitely up on us. felt like it today. to steal a line from our game guy, it is all about philosophy. we are a few minutes away from phil night at the wizards game.
