that is exactly what the troy coaches wanted, and a threw a 4-hitter over 7. >> they were hoping for 7. they got to 7. he lads the game -- lead it is game with the lead, so they are in good shape. and bryant take that is spinner and passes it other the knees of ditthardt. 2 outs as houston is retired for the 3rd straight time. now, here is tyson parks. he is 2-3. he has had a couple of good innings. >> a good day today for parks. troy would love to be able to hold on to a victory without having to bring in chase whitley. he is an outstanding closer, went 2.23 last night. would love to give him a day
6:03 pm
off completely and bring him back tomorrow. and tyson parks, singled for the 3rd time. that was a nice throw as they went down for the breaking ball and swings it the other way. compact swing. >> when you have a pitch on the outer half, especially a breaking ball, if you try to pull that ball, he will end you will rolling it to 2nd baseman . instead he hit it hard over the left field. >> and 3 out of 5 hits for arkansas - little rock this afternoon. here is landis wilson, who has twice bounced out to the 2q. thomas austinish 2nd baseman . thomas austin floats one in. and troy had to come from behind in the late innings last night to grab a win after trailing 3-0. it has been a wire to wire lead to this point
6:04 pm
for troy. >> you want to be above 500 if you can, thinking ant post season, making a conference -- thinking post season, all the things that make a good post season, making a conference tournament. all those things. parks kept the inning alive with a single to left. and he takes a short lead, trailing by 300s, and the breaking ball hurled over the
6:05 pm
plate. >> just misses. and that is one up. a great team for hitting by wilson, not to swing at that pitch. and will season got jammed. -- wilson got jammed. and tyson parks can give up some home runs. arkansas - little rock has to someone give themselves a chance. hard to run back into it late. they will have to somehow figure out the bullpen for troy. this is hit sharply, gloved by the short stop. look at that play!

lot of conferences, scheduled a nonconference weekend in with regular conference schedule and that allows things to sort of get right, if you will. i kind of like that idea, ronnie. it doesn't work for all conferences, but it works for the sunbelt. not everybody gets an off weekend. they maybe won't be playing, but they won't play in the conference weekend after it start. >> that is due to the 11 team in the sunbelt. very nice pitch. got it going today with the curve ball. >> when you have the even teams, you don't have to worry about it. it is kind of nice, but i guarantee the coaches would rather have the even number for the schedule purposes. because it is sometimes hard to get the teams you want to play
6:11 pm
in the middle of their conference schedule. it is hard to schedule the nonconference series. and mccollum makes the throw from 3rd. so, 6 straight. and fujita is retired. now jake sullivan comes to the plate. he has been really good here in the bottom of the order. he is the 8 hold hitter that walked, singled and homered his first of the year. that is a good day for sullivan. again, they do that for team situations, try and be ready, but averages up now over 300 on the year. now, a little visit, kind of going to make a trip to the bullpen since graziano is kind
6:12 pm
of cruising right now, but i think they want to make sure they are on the right page of how they want to approach a very hot hitter here, mr. sullivan. >> some leagues, when there are more teams than weekends available for conference play, just don't play. like the fcc, for example, they will not play every team every year. denver, of course, is in the sunbelt conference, and a fine basketball program, but
6:15 pm
be handled by wilson. >> i am a little surprised that arkansas - little rock did not pitch out at 0-1. >> right here. everybody in the ballpark knew he was going to go. picks up another one right there. but, now, you can't see with the base open. you don't want to pinch around the #-0 heading steven rosado. he is a beast. so, rosado is going to get some pretty good pitches here. and belted to center field. brown left and makes the play. and steven rosado hit it well,

sullivan. todd mcrae, 9th inning defensive replacement for jake sullivan. >> todd mcrae is a better defensive catcher, so with the 3-run lead, they want to make sure he is in there to keep arkansas - little rock from having runners all over the bases. and thomas austin is looking for the save here. came on the 8th inning, and on a 5-2 ball game, gave up a 2- out single to tyson parks. no chance of getting it around. not a bad idea. you need base runners any way you can. usually when you are down 3, you have to do some bunting or take some pitches, or the 3- run lead in play, infield in the back. there was nothing rivera could do. he picked it up cleanly, but nate brown had far too much speed. nobody out. one more base runner brings the tying run to the plate.
6:19 pm
the bullpen is idle right now for troy. >> can he slam it in the 9th without having to get the da, chase whitley, warmed up. thomas austin is a math marriage. he would like to -- major. he would like to count some strikes here in the 9th. austin really has a good sing right there. the fastball has pealed in getting down -- pailed in
6:20 pm
6:21 pm
tim emmons. how about arkansas - little rock. battling here in the 9th. lead off on single. good swing right there as he pulls it to the right side, through that big hole. having that runner at 2nd base, double play, and that is it. so, we will have a bit of a conference right now. >> more than a conference. they already made the call.

this year. whitley has been very good. 11 innings pitched an e.r.a. of 0.82. sunbelt a save and a victory. talking to bobby pierce before the game, he said he is the mvp of the team so more, offensively and on the mound. we will see if he can pick up the 2 saves for the troy trojans. and brock feldmann is 0-2. feldmann has one home run this year. and whitley miss
6:26 pm
particularly outfield play. an error that led to a run, and right here, felix committed this error which leads to another. they will hold the runner at 3rd. felix is known at the best arm in it will league. with that error, everybody moves up obtain run scores. and the go ahead run is at the plate. the tying run at 2nd base. >> watch right here. looks back, sees the error and goes ahead and scores. missing the cut off man, which allows the tying run to go from 1st to 2nd. felix had the opportunity to come up throwing. he was in front of the single bounce, and the ball skipped off the heel of his glove, as they took his eye off of it,
6:27 pm
checking the infield. >> watch right here. routine long play. took his eye off of it for a moment. overthrew for a second, allows the runners from 1st to move up to 2nd. that runner at 3rd meant nothing. the runner at 3rd meant nothing. he should have thrown it from 2nd to prevent the tying run from advancing. and tommie johnson struck out, and his only other at-bat a strike out. well, a great slider. >> watch that slighter. it actually falls off the plate. nice job by whitley. does it himself. hits ahead a count and finishes the deal.
6:28 pm
i am impressed with little rock, because they have been down all game long, and give scott norwood a lot of credit. his feistiness, mentality, is sort of transferred into his team. these guys are not quitting, at all. they could have fell behind, but they keep battling, chipping away. here they are, one base hit away from tying this game up. it is back to the top of the order. and come is 1-4. whitley from the stretch, hits it in and todd mcrae blocked it. 3 straight hits in the inning. the first two off of austin and the 3 one came off of whitley. >> and he puts another one into
6:29 pm
the dirt. not really close. shakeing the right arm a little bit. comes down to inbetween pitches, trying to get it loose. and emmons is at 3rd. feldmann is at 2nd base. 3 balls and 0 strikes. rowell is on deck. so, 3-0, just poured in there. let's see what he does here. is it just a fastball? >> does he get it over or will he throw a slider? hit to the right side to fujita. makes the play. there is the 2nd ball, runs,
