five rubs in his first start and last time six. you know, i think probably even more important for 23-year-old young left-hander in his first full year in the major leagues, he made some adjustments, walking five in the tampa bay game when they came to baltimore. he was about as good as you can get for the first seven innings and then they got lucky. bullpen didn't do a very good job but he is going to give you the opportunity to win and when you lost nine in a row, that's all you need. >> gary: the orioles, having to use the bullpen as much as they have, hope the starter will take them deep into the ball game. jim, at this point it's about building confidence for the team. >> jim p: i think it's not only about that when you ben giving the opportunity for little things -- getting the big hit or advancing the runners -- you're back, the good luck charm. our good luck charm would be a nice three-run home run and good pitching for the early lead. at the end of the day, because we know starting pitchers won't pitch nine innings, you better have somebody to pitch the 9th. jim johnson pitched yesterday
