unified parliament and the entire nation when i pay a special thanks to the prime minister and the government for the way that led the nation for the most critical situation we have experienced during times of peace. the government quarter may be wrecked, but the country's government is in tact. i would also like to express gratitude for the party solidarity that we have seen from the leaders of all political parties. the government with a target for the tender, but all of our space parties fuel its impact. one of the things that has been noticed is the absence of the vengeful expression from the norwegian people.

when we were put to the test and demonstrated the nation we want to be for our actions. the entire nation has gathered in unity young and old alike regardless of political and religious affiliations. during the days following the catastrophe, hundreds and thousands of people have taken to the streets and an enormous wave of candles and flowers have swept the land. we hear a sound and yes to unity and solidarity with those affected, and the resounding no to violence and terror. nobody should underestimate the power and resolve that these actions demonstrate. i feel profoundly humbled to represent the norwegian people. it is a privilege to lead people and to collectively know how to

do the right thing. this is precisely the reason why even when the nation has suffered enormous human loss we should remain committed to the space principles that our society is built on. it is natural to feel ander about these averages. but even when the pain is deepest our response should be based on law. we must force strength from anger. the 18th-century french philosopher said the falling to the parliament, of the government. i disagree with your opinions but i would defend your right to express' until the very end.ra f controversial and unconventional opinions. even now free just once, extreme points of view must be

confronted and posed with the force of reason. we shall also have a societal responsibility to prevent extreme views from resulting in actions that violate or harm other people. such actions must be met by the full force of the law and the system. when we face hatred on those who are different, the response should be to promote diversity. we should not be a freeze of those who do not share our particular beliefs but those who hate everyone else who doesn't. we are proud of our open society which makes it natural to meet their politicians face-to-face in the streets and towns and their daily life.

the terror has a greater distance between the electorate and the elected. the conflict between the people and elected representatives. it is the foundation of the representative democracy. we want to continue this way. we will continue this way. people will be governed by their elected representatives. one profound impression from the last couple of days is a message from our young survivors. the message that terror must not result in hate but more love and compassion, not in fear, but in determination, not in withdraw but in participation. many of us have adopted the words of these young people. now we have to share the responsibility for converting these words into action.

many people have taken to the streets and joined professions and offer flowers, candles and children's paintings and the imams or shoulder to shoulder and all of our political party youth groups see a surge in applications for membership and willingness to participate. democracy has shown its strength and determination when i was put to the test. election is the most important single process regardless of how people voted. it's critical the the vote in this election. to build a democracy is to build a community. this is our common responsibility. bye supporting the youth football team, by engaging in the local neighborhoods, by caring for those the less

fortunate, and by treating other people with openness and respect , we can listen to those that are different and who have been a stigmatizing vote and we can all consider how individuals we can promote more understanding and respect for one another. it is a challenge to bring about. especially if we think that means only other people that have to change. this may be a good opportunity again by spending time to reflect upon what i can change will bring about more understanding this may also be a good opportunity for the selected representatives to reflect upon and reassess our

own positions and opinions that open debate. if their times want to disagree with the parliaments in spite of better judgment and when we choose to interpret their opinions and the worst kind of light and with determining what is actually said. this may also be a good opportunity for us to reassess what kind of language we use to express ourselves in a whole to feel we are representing it and that allows all of our people at the long to it? in 1945, the norwegian author said as we say again today for now on it is about we.

you're majesty, your royal highness, everyone, they're have been dark days that are now behind us, they are more ahead of us. we have to continue to care for those that are affected in the months and years to come. we have to continue to develop democracy. the norwegian people have responded to the calculated outrageous acts of compassion from the heart. one sentence has been etched into our conscious and transmitted and around the world and symbolized the best of our younger generation let us make a common commitment to embody the message as the auf role and to create so much hatred imagine

how much love we can create together. >> your majesty, your royal highness, mr. president, the norwegian people must put an ultimate test on july 22nd. the map has torn asunder and accomplice shattered. each and every one of us had to find a way to a climate of

shock, off-year and devastation. it could have gone wrong. but the norwegian people found their way out of the darkness we've returned that come to norway. today i want to express my appreciation of that. we are still a country in mourning. we are bearing our debt from the government quarter. we keep hospital beds many bleeding mchose to limit wheat will continue to comfort those who mourn to take care of those that are struggling, honor the

those who took the resolute action many of them put their own lives at risk to on sunday, august 21st, we will pay tribute to their courage at in national memorial for those who order to be affected. i would also like to express my gratitude for the kind words and condolences from all over the world from letters, flowers, messages of support on facebook and other social media. we have as a nation felt that we are no longer, this has given us strength. but my thanks go to the norwegian people who took responsibility when it was most

needed, who retained their human dignity and chose democracy for most of all the young people. they came under fire but a whole generation has mobilized sorrowful protests. july 22nd generation or the hero's and our hope. this means we can look to the future with renewed confidence and fundamental values and with the hope the commitment to fair dialogue and greater tolerance will continue to grow. this time of mourning has made many of us pause and think about our positions and attitudes.

reflect on our thoughts and words and what we said. in hindsight of the tragedy of the 22nd of july we may well realize which has sometimes express ourselves a bit differently, and we should choose our words more carefully in the future. i will from this podium and asked people not to engage in a witch hunt. the solidarity that we have shown. we can all learn something from this tragedy.

we need to say i was wrong and should be met with respect. this is equally true in every day conversations and in the public forum. it applies to politicians and editors and the canteen at work and on the internet. it applies to everyone. as politicians, we promise we will take the spirit of july 22nd with us when we start normal political will activities once again. we would show the same wisdom and respect as the norwegian people have done. with freedom of speech as hour within and the best addition of this chamber we will ensure that human dignity and security wins over fear and hatred. we were this to the norwegian
