the contingent from annapolis and the air force academy and the coast guard. escorting their late commander and it is hard to realize that on this marvelously clear and beautiful, understandably beautiful day, this is what we are all coming to washington to witness. the crowd that has gathered is not a large one. it is one deep in most places because most of the crowd will be along the large march later. beyond the white house to which the procession is now going.

>> that is st. matthews cathedral, the diocese for the center of washington. mr. and mrs. kennedy worshiped here often in the past. it's the closest catholic church to the white house, i believe. admission to the funeral service is by ticket only because there's only more than a little more than 1100 seats inside, clearly, not enough for all of the visitors, native, foreign, family, friends, and others who would like to come, so the only graceful way to be done was issue invitations and send out cards to those invited. black and gold hanging over the entrance to the church, the same colors displayed on the beth popes.
