>> that is st. matthews cathedral, the diocese for the center of washington. mr. and mrs. kennedy worshiped here often in the past. it's the closest catholic church to the white house, i believe. admission to the funeral service is by ticket only because there's only more than a little more than 1100 seats inside, clearly, not enough for all of the visitors, native, foreign, family, friends, and others who would like to come, so the only graceful way to be done was issue invitations and send out cards to those invited. black and gold hanging over the entrance to the church, the same colors displayed on the beth popes.

the cathedral is somewhat of a land mark in washington even though it's now somewhat new physically overshadowed by tall buildings. john kennedy, carolyn kennedy. today is john f. kennedy, jr.'s third birthday. cardinal curbing, richard cardinal cushing of boston, and archbis ship patrick o'boyle. >> the ex-president is at the door. he blesses the remains with holy water, reminded of their baptism as their entrance into the church. the solemn procession moves up the aisle of the church. the procession being led by the cross reminds us that it was through the cross of jesus that death was defeated. he is the way, the truth, and the life, and we follow in his footsteps.
