official day of kindergarten on 11 i write about this that i packed a miniature quran in her backpack as a talisman. >> host: like the christians carrying a cross. >> guest: a big oversized backpack with the tiny quran as i watched the images of that day, thinking the same quran pact so lovingly was used to wreak havoc and hate and destruction. the juxtaposition of those two realities was in mind numbing and confusing at a very existential level and parenting level. the journey for me has been

of learning and my religion to understand the issues to empower my children. we can teach them to disassociate or disengage. also with the jewish experience you try to develop your identity but the stereotype i am not quite muslim. >> i am not changing names right now. because people shy away from celebrating or doing ramadan in the office. people are closing up. it is it a difficult journey but one that i hope, i do not know if i made the right choice. i think that i have. but by taking the children along on this journey to

incest, and not insist ultimately the choice is theirs but slowly they have chosen to self identify as muslims. i hope by doing that they can hold america accountable to a higher ideal as they can hold is, higher that they are living embodiment of what it means to be truly american and muslim to be agents of change for a better world. >> if this deal is completed it puts comcast at the center of every major media policy debates we will have. i don't think the fcc should

a tape recorder then send them the tapes then they would transcribe. the last book i did myself with my wife. she did a lot of the research and helped with the editing. of course, she is quick 2.0 that is the one that hit "the new york times" best sellers list. [laughter] but i very much enjoy working with my wife. fortunately it does tend to come pretty easily. like speaking. i don't have a written text. i just go up there and survey the situation depending on the audience we have. i have a few points to make
