effects and echoed throughout the medium became a big story. they succeeded i think because they reminded the world of what union carbide and dow chemical did. i guess we have time for one more question. >> you mentioned something about the big reveal and the s. man prank was the apology basically apologizing for dow and that was when the prank emerged. that is what made that such a powerful statement. >> i was trying to simplify the story but yeah cassette was actually kicking things off. they got things rolling in terms of spreading the word about that prank and reminded the world that yeah. one last question anyone? going once. okay. >> is a big reveal is a defining

feature of the prankster is edward snowden a prankster? is julianne assange a prankster? i'm just curious to hear where are the limits of the prankster and other forms of subversive dissent? >> that's a great question. i don't really have a typology of cranking aside from distinguishing between pranks and hoaxes and cons. they all use the same strategies they're a different underlying motives of the perpetrators. i would think that what edward snowden did in terms of thinking about how he can use media to raise awareness about something that deeply concerned him, i wouldn't hesitate to call him a prankster but i think it still lines up with yeah the same

tactics that pranksters use. maybe he is a prankster though. i will think about it. these are all really great questions. thanks so much everyone. [applause] >> both kembrew and d would be happy to sign some books. , peer and get some trading cards by buying a book or just sitting here. he drove in from minneapolis and is going to d.c. tomorrow so let's send them off right. thanks everybody. [inaudible conversations] >> the issue should be handled differently but i have a general philosophy that i'm approaching with all of it. you start with the basic premise

which is economic freedom. it was my guiding principle and from that comes for facts. one does the commission of authority to act on a particular issue? weather authority as congress given us in the statute? two is there harm to consumers and the solution we can actually remedy whenever harm has been brought forward? three is the solution tailored to the particular problem we are addressing and we not regulate by analogy and forthwith all those three elements to the benefits of regulation outweigh the costs? that is how i'm approaching each issue individually but you tend to take each issue is the come before you with my overall philosophy. >> is great to hear from my son. we went through a lot.

being a father is a hard thing in our culture because i don't think we remember what it's like we forget and i have to give him credit because he says i didn't give up on him but he didn't give up on me either. we were really having a rough time and when he was in prison i remember one time he called and was jumping on me for being a terrible dad. i told him well okay son but you weren't such a good son either. i told him why don't we just stop this? i admit i was a terrible dad and you were to good son. let's just stop it. let's just change. that's not easy. when you tell people to change you can't make that happen with them magic wand. but the change itself is beautiful and healing even though there were hard days. i see my son and i'm very proud of him because i see what he is

gone through. i know the terrible things he has faced and the abuse he had from other guys. i used to hit them when i shouldn't have hit him but he had abuse from other guys. his poor mom to macovin want to give her credit because she stood by him. it was a struggle for young person and she stepped up. i think one of the things i hope comes out is they got on it trip and he got off parole so he could come to california. there was this crazy car he wanted. we drove all the way from chicago and it was beautiful trips.

we came with our friend and we had a great time. i never argued with him once. we just had a great time talking and sharing in my son had become wise at his age. he has become a healer. it's important to point out that in our wounds we can make the change. he has become one of these people and they we were able to do poetry. now he is a poet my son so anyway i want to just thank him. he is sincerely honest in that. when he was in a gang he was rough and he was mean and angry and he was violent. he is now a piece and that's important. i have seen other people do it but to see my son is powerful. it's really what we are talking about. i never cried for a long time.
6:13 pm
i was told not to cry. a man shouldn't cry that but man tears are important. they are tears of the feminine aspect and being fully human and being whole. it's important.
