>> and in new york at the javits center with the publishing industry is meeting for its annual convention, mariji ross joins us. what are some of the big titles regnery has coming out this fall? >> inks for asking. it's delightful to be here and we have a lot of exciting titles coming this fall. in fact, this spring we have a few coming even in the next few months. we have a big book. our next big book is a book i did manage to souza called america, imagine the world without her. it is a very strong event of america, her history, her values and a kind of retort to the mythology as did nash would say
4:52 pm
that america has a history of oppression and bullying and that american greatness, strength, influence is really based on overpowering people rather than drawing in people in attracting people with a message of hope and opportunity. so i think it will be a terrific message. it's powerful, but also positive message. >> bush's legal troubles help her not affect book sales? >> of course i was a question we're asking ourselves ourselves and talking to dinesh about. it is clear in the past few days as some of the stories have come out in the paper that most of the people i've -- in fact, everyone i've talked to has rallied to his defense and is looking at the legal case against him as another example of intimidation by the

administration, sort of targeting someone that was a very outspoken critic of the obama administration. despite the scandals we talk about another opportunities for select to prosecution or harassment, that really seems to be what is going on in this case and dinesh isn't even the one saying that. other people come in and say what i look at the fact that the cases are he seems like someone was out to get you. they were targeting you for harassment and intimidation. so i think in an odd way it actually help because he has this rally enough support of people who say this isn't right. this isn't really the way the country is supposed to operate. and in some ways in his book. >> what other big hooks you have common in the season? >> another big book as a drop-in
4:54 pm
for us. were excited about this book and this is the next i added kline called blood feud, the clintons versus the obama's and it is going to be, i believe, a plot ester success and of course it is coming as the follow-up if you will to a very successful book we had a couple years ago called the amateur, which i'm sure you remember and that was a book that was number one in "the new york times" bestsellers list for six weeks. it was on the list for 21 weeks and it was a terrific read. it was full of all sorts of juicy maggots on barack obama who was called the amateur, not by ed kline come about by bill clinton as he reported. ed kline is just a terrific investigative reporter. he did dance that you just can't imagine and it's very well sourced. he's blocked all of this down

and now we are going to release this book at the end of june and we have very high hopes that are very excited about it. >> mariji ross, at a publisher gregory, with a book like that, how much backchecking of my coworkers into a? >> that's a very good question because that's something all of us have to work about. frankly no publisher wants to get dragged into a lawsuit are accused of something like that in no author does either. so part of our first line of scrutiny is a very common deep exhaustive interview with the author himself and grilling the author and where he got his information, making sure he has done his fact checking. one of the things that's always been great and i think one of the reasons that his books have stood up to squirt me and believe me people would love to find -- poke holes in what he is saying is that his role as he will never put any egg into a

book unless it's verified by two sources, not one. he never relies on a single source. obviously as many, probably most journalists, there are sources he can't name and won't name and we can think of many famous for porters have gone to prison because they wouldn't reveal their sources were. it's not a question of him identifying people by name. making sure he gets confirmation, he gets collaboration. he walks all the things in his book to convince us that he's done his job and his due diligence. and of course we have the lawyers review things that they don't see anything worry simon was .. here, too. >> mariji ross, wonder about coming up for bribery. >> okay, so another successful repeat best-selling author on this list the year is david
4:57 pm
limbaugh in his book this was a bit of a departure from the typical sort of political book. he is doing a book for us called jesus on trial. this is a book where david takes his sort of the legal mind in background and his constitutional lawyer and he argues the case for the gospel as he goes through as they assertively collects axford is a lawyer and examines the evidence and comes to the conclusion that it's true and what we have come to know as the old and new testament is true and it's a true story, not a fabrication, not be tale. he takes a very logical, legal approach to the subject. of course we cannot think of many books in the past couple of years that have gone more in the safe direction in the political direction and that is something
4:58 pm
that is caught our attention that makes a lot of sense. directory audience of conservatives and committed conservatives and valued readers are also very added buyers and readers of hooks on faith, books about religion. third made sense for us to go into that area and have been david felt passionately about. so that was a perfect opportunity for us to bring out his next book. >> mariji ross of regnery. thank you thank you very much. >> thank you. >> here is a look at books being published this week: this
