president xi back to the white house. we first toasted him when testifies vice president. this is our sixth meeting. as a result of our efforts, our nations are working more closely across the broader change of critical issues. since i took office, america's export to china has nearly doubled. chinese investment in the united states help support across the country. encouraging development reconciliation in afghanistan to the ebola in west africa. we have encouraged other countries to step us as well increasing prospects for global

agreement. as a member, china was critical that brought iran to negotiating tables and talk to prevent iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. greater prosperity and greater security is what american and chinese can do. that's why i want to say again, the united states welcome the rise of a china that is peaceful, and responsible player in global affairs and committed to expand cooperation even if we address disagreements candidly an construct iively. that's what president xin and i first with respect to economics, level the plain field for

countries vulnerable as well. the world's two largest economist and consumers come together like this, there's no reason for other countries whether developed or developing to not do so as well. and so this is another major step towards the global agreement the world needs to reach in two month's time. third, with respect to security in the asia pacific. we agreed to new channels and reduced miscalculations between militaries. united states and china reaffirmed commitment to complete of the korean peninsula and demand implementation and rewill not accept north korea as a nuclear weapon state. we did have candid discussions on the east and south china seas

and reiterated the right of countries to freedom and overflight, as such, i indicate that had the united states will continue the sail, operate anywhere that international law allows. i convey to president xi concerns over land reclamation, construction and the areas that makes it harder. i encouraged a resolution between claimants in the area. we are not a claimant, i just want to make sure the rules of the road are upheld. i reiterated my strong commitment as well based on the taiwan relations act. fourth, we agree to the more to promote international security. the united nations in the coming days, u.s. and china will bring countries to promote development in afghanistan and will work
