1:44 pm
the conning of african-americans and black women. the democratic party in my view is like a used car sales man. they peddle all of these promises to black people. we will make things better. lbj promised smarter and richer and more educated but fast forward to today and black people are none of those things. the head of the congressional black caucus last year said blacks were in quote a state of emergency under the first black president mind you. i look at the democratic party like a used car salesman in that they say they are slickly dressed and want to sell you a great product but say don't look under the hood. you might not get what you are voting for. the war on women. the abortion party is strong and it is painted under the veal of
1:45 pm
pro-choice. when i dig on planned parenthood's website and financial report what i find is by the time a woman turns 45 in america, 3-10 women who turn 45 in america, will have had an abortion. they boast about it on their website. as a woman, women i know who made the tough decision to have an abortion, i don't agree abortion, that is not something we should be proud of but a statistic they boast about. those are the highlights of the book. illegal immigration, often times when i found doing research for this book, if you go on the dnc's website they have a list of 50 different constituents. and my mother said a person who tries to be a master of many things they will be a master of nothing.
1:46 pm
there is no better of this and this is highlighted in con-job is illegal immigration. what happens when immigration increases by 10%? jobs decline for blacks to about 6% and wages by 2.5%. you have hillary clinton and bernie sanders, particularly hillary clinton, saying she is going further and allowing 11 million people to say here illegally. that harms black americans. the timing is perfect on this book. it is to wake everybody up saying you don't have to be a conservative like me. but has the democrat party delivered on promises to blacks, to women, and liberals in general an is really what the book is about. that is probably more than you wanted to here.
1:47 pm
>> 96% of african-americans voted for barack obama and over time 90% of african-americans vote for the democratic candidate. >> i think that is a tragedy. the lost votes blacks have given democrats over the last half century hasn't gotten us, i don't think, the parody with white americans, that martin luther king wanted for us to have. in many ways, i hate to use analogy about slavery but i feel it has kept us impoverished. 23% of black babies were born out of wed lock when johnson was president and he was warned.
1:48 pm
president johnson was told if you don't do something about this you will see generational poverty and crime developing within the black race. because the time same to broken family was found to be emerging in black americans he saw an increase dependence on black women on welfare. 72% of black babies are born out of wed lock today. a child who is born into a single-parent house hold has a 70% chance of growing up in poverty and not getting education. i want black americans to think this is an important election. who is really talking to you about what policies they are actually going to implement to get you jobs? not making promises like hillary clinton and bernie sanders on records. both of them have been in office a long time.
1:49 pm
they are promising all of these things. we will stop mas incareration of blacks, bring blacks' jobs, reform the prison sentence. all of these things but they haven't done any of that over the last 30 years hillary hear running for president. they are pandering. they are saying black lives matter but for them it all about black votes. what have either of them done to help improve the state of black america? that is what -- i think you have donald trump on the other side, while he is making some statements that i think he needs to clarify about the klan and david duke but he is uttering the words black americans and talks about easing black unemployment in his immigration plan by getting rid of jay-1 visas allowing foreign young workers to come over and wants
1:50 pm
to replace it, on his website, he has a great policy plan, he wants to replace it with the inner city job banks where corporations are going to be forced to go an a job bank where young black people put a resume on that. i want to hear donald trump talk more about that and reputate white supremecist voters. he said he doesn't want their votes. >> crystal wright, we hear from people on the call-in programs that black conservatives i just don't get it. >> they don't get it. they don't trust me. i get called uncle tom, coon, like you are working for the man. i don't get paid -- virtually none of my activism is paid.
1:51 pm
i think the reason why is we do see, i would say my party, use a lot of black conservatives to their advantage and use them as puppets. i think at a certain point there were times when ben carson, when he was appearing on a certain network before running for president, was saying things not authentic to dr. carson i heard speaking at the president's prayer breakfast. black americans have a right to distrust some black conservatives because the ones propped up in conservative news outlets lose their identity and are no longer authentic. but there are many conservatives like me who tell it like it is, i am introspective about my own party when they say stupid
1:52 pm
things like donald trump has said stupid things and haley barber who said he didn't remember the civil rights movement being all that bad. i don't paint all liberals alike. i know it sounds like it because my book is a critique orn the democratic party. but for black americans, do a little homework. there is a rich relationship with the party of lincoln and black americans. lincoln and lis republican party was created because they wanted to break away from the wigs who wanted to expand slaves out west. lincoln wanted parody like martin luther king. there is a history there and a reason why black americans like me believe fundamentally believe
1:53 pm
the policies the conservatives offer empower us more than the democrats. you see after president obama's two term black americans are frustrated. travis smilely and others are saying i don't know if he delivered on the promise he made. and do we deserve to give him over 90% of our vote? this is a good thing. i think everybody should have their eyes wide open. i am a republican but it does mean you will earn my vote just because you have an r near your name. no other race, and i will repeat this, no other race gives nearly their entire vote to one party but black americans and then we complain when democrats don't deliver on promises. so i yus think it has to stop. it is the only way you will have political power and lift yourself out of poverty.
1:54 pm
you have to start asking what you can do for yourself and the party can help you along. >> is the republican party comfortable with you? >> no. i think the republican party has an uneasyness with me because i cannot be put into a box. i will not use names about the peers i like but i am not predictable. and i don't think any party should have patsy's as supporters. the party wants to be controlled by the gop establishment which is an exclusive club. i have taken great offense to them trying to rig an election that -- not an election, but a nomination process that donald trump is winning fairly and squarely. what this is about is the establishment in washington is concerned they have lost
1:55 pm
political power, influence and money. it is made up largely of white males. the very people like mitt romney when gave a speech condemning donald trump, who he praised in 2012, i find repugnant because romney ran one of the whitest campaign i can remember. i was a gingrich delegate and went on national television when my guy was not winning anything beyond south carolina and got behind our nominee mitt romney who did nothing to grow the party. he lost the black, asian, hispanic and woman vote. mitt romney is a failure. donald trump is growing the party and that is why they are mad. my party deserves to be burned down and built anew.
1:56 pm
>> two people that occur in your book, allen west, and cornell west, what is the difference between cornell and allen west? >> allen west endorsed by book. he is a republican who was elected as a member of congress in florida. he is a great friend of mine. i have learned a lot from allen west. was very friendly with him as a congressman. cornell west is a professor at princeton and i think came out to support bernie sanders. i mention him throughout the book because cornell west is part of the race hustle movement. i lump him with al sharpton because he is rolled out when we need spokesman.
1:57 pm
my parents grew up in the segregated south and were called the n-word and had to sit on the of the bus in richmond, virginia. they told me to speak out for myself as a black woman. so i take great offense when the media want to reduce black people to voices in a connective voice that have to be relegated. you don't have a white spokesperson that speaks on your behalf, peter. when you look at cornell west he is making munee writing books about what black people should do and think and how he is the voice of black people. allen west is telling people speak for yourself and he was a loud mouth in a good way congressman and tells it like he is. he is a hero and champion for me for the black american than cornell west will ever be.

>> a little bit from crystal wright on her new book: >> every day books are reviewed by publications throughout the country. richard angles new book was reviewed for the kansas city star and it is written at heart the book is a nerve-wracking autobiography by a journalist on the front line covering wars in lebanon, israel, gazaa, iraq and syria. on another level, it is a portrait of a troubled region. one that has been influenced by mad men and poorly served by two consecutive american presidents. a history professor at new york university reviewed adam cohens

book about state sponsored sterilization in the united states and the president's supreme court court case buck vs veal. it is noted in the late 1920's to 1950's sterilization in the united states caused tens of thousands of victims with california and a host of southern states leading the way. they were performed on poor southerns they recovered a nickname even. and the george w. bush released a book profiling the live of several afghanistan women. this work sounds the themes of confidence and self-improvement that can only be achieved when women raise their choices and overcome societal shame. laura bush wrote the forward and

talks about her interest in working with the afghanistan women. >> after september 11th when the spotlight turned on afghanistan, american women, including myself, saw women who were marginalized and worked out in an idea of a government that would forbid half of its population from being educated was shocking to american men and women. ...
