>> we will here from oregon senator, ron white, a budget director and other experts on corporate tax policy. we will show you highlights from the conservative political action conference. four votes on defense spending this year. >> kelly major joins us.

he is a reporter who will look at the health care bill with us and maybe look is a long word but because not many are getting a look. what can you tell us about the status of repealing obamacare and when will the committee be marking it up? >> republican leaders are sear -- seriously revising the bill but the draft will be a secret. there was a lot of dramatic instances of lawmakers searching for the legislation. senator rand paul of kentucky brought a coffee machine on a dolly and wheeled it around to the various committee rooms. there is going to be two marks ups on this even though there is no markup of how much it will cost. lawmakers say that is because

they are not finished. it is going to be a mark up in the ways and means committee dealing with the tax component of it including there was a draft leaked today that is a revised draft and it still contains these subsidies based on age to help make insurance more affordable for people do buy insurance in the private market and that is a major problem for a lot of conservatives who don't want to see what they call obamacare left. we will have a mack up in ways and means and energy and commerce that deals with more of the health policy related issues. those are the two committees the jurisdiction will be looking at. >> on the house floor in the coming week, you write the defense spending bill is ready for the house. others lag behind. what are the key details of the defense bill and the strategy behind taking it up first? >> house speaker paul ryan said to me last week or this week that this is the bill that will

get a spending measure to the senate because the new congress turned over. even though republicans engaged in a spending process for the 2017 season last year all of the bills that were not enacted, all 11 except were the military construction and va measure, went away. that legislation is no longer filled in the house or senate so they are reintroducing this measure. it is a little more generous than either the house or senate passed. it is 557 billion and has money invested in an uncapped war fund. again, this is probably going to be a vehicle for the rest of the spending bills that are unfinished to get wrapped up into because the continuing resolution that funds the
