despite losing most of our metro atlanta, which is another big shocker from november's race. he last called county to suburban atlanta strongholds, republican strongholds that has been in the republican camp since jimmy carter's area. he last those in november. so the state is still a red state, but metro atlanta starting to turn a little morewi purple. >> host: the president weighed in with tweed and even today that john ossoff would be a disaster, bad for jobs and wants higher is. say no. what sort of feeling on president trump early in his president a bear and not district in the atlanta suburb -- suburban region. >> yeah, i mean, trump is weighing very deeply into this race. he recorded a robocall attacking

democrat ossoff. this is seen as a democrat for republicans here as an embarrassing rebuke to donald trumps presidency. i don't think there's any two ways about that. because ossoff has made this campaign and make strong serious campaign. that is what he calls a nes vowed to donald trump. there are 11 of them. some of them got to be a trompe l'oeil list and they will be trump's most ardent ally and others say they will be an independent check on trump in congress. that appeals to a segment of the republican electorate here who voted for trump that kind of did so by holding the nurse. >> host: greg bluestein is reporter for the atlanta journal constitution. read more ajc and follow him publicly today
