addressing that. that is important but goods data is imperative. thank you very much. >> fcc commissioners met at their headquarters in washington, d.c. protesters outside call for preserving net neutrality rules for the internet. senators ron wyden and edinburgh quay along with representatives spoke at the rally. good morning everybody. we are here to save net neutrality. we have a a few special guests that i want to make sure that our champions of the people that are fighting every day all the way over there on capitol hill for the free and open internet are heard from. they've been sick debate for sticking up for net neutrality

and no one has been doing that more than senator wyden from the state of oregon. my colleagues are so kind to let me do this. we have one's before it is time to win again. i know all of our friends are going to freely hammer this home. thanks, everybody.

competitors to be able to participate in the. of the fcc, the trump administration at the behest of a small number of corporate behemoths who want to limit the new competitors who can get into the internet marketplace and wants to ensure they have to pay more than those who are already powerful to gain access. what we have here today are the internet's nature of the superheroes who are going to conduct a campaign that will ensure millions of americans are

able to talk to their own government. i would say right now that the trump administration has no idea what they are about to unleash in this country. he had no idea what he was unleashing when he fired james comey. he doesn't understand what is going to be unleashed that may begin to try to dismantle the net neutrality. we are here to save you have allies in the house and the senate but more importantly we have tens of millions across this country who are going to ensure that the voices of those that are not powerful are going to be heard here in washington, d.c.. it begins here today.

[applause] 4 million people posting like a drop in the bucket with regards to how many people are going to talk to the trump fcc because we cannot afford to to have this freewheeling open source of democratic speech to be shut down by the corporate behemoths for those the battle begins here and we will take it to ensure

everyone in our country has an equal voice on the internet. [applause] [cheering] >> now i want to welcome another champion a house of representatives member from colorado who understands the power of the open internet for innovation, start us and the pursuit of justice. i'm thrilled to join senator markey, senator wyden and others. it's not just us when the fcc opens up the rule for the comment over a million people wrote in supporting net neutrality. that shows a broad support for keeping the free and open internet on the other side of the fcc heard 440,000 comments

using the identities and a lot of the stolen identities were against net neutrality but look, the intranet is a crowd of human achievement. what a wonderful thing to bring to economic prosperity and it we all care about access and all of our friends should have a reasonable ally so people can continue to have access but that is not where the magic is that it is in the content into one of the reasons it has been so dynamic is that the server for tomorrow's great start up has an ability to be accessed around the world than today' in today'a conglomerates and that is what we do i and the disruption innovation to characterize the internet. if the fcc moves to roll back
