david osbourne offers his look. suzzy hanson shares her travels a broad. and this weekend on afterwards, harvard university danielle allen discusses how mass incarceration has impacted her fami family. >> you don't see this unless you put yourself back in each of those years and think about what did your bedroom look like, who were the kids whew were hanging out with, what were the dangerous situations you were considering and now i look at michael at this point and put it

side by side. >> someone asked is it personal or societal responsibility? what is your answer when people ask you that. >> double helix, my friend. you cannot separate those things because collectively we build the world that we live in. we build -- you know, we build the opportunity patterns. it is us. we are building it. it doesn't fall out of nowhere from mars. you can watch all previous after words programs on our website booktv.org. >> trump had enough resources at any time you could not knock him out. but i look back at what he did as one of the great acts of

genius comparable to fdr and the far side chat. what nobody in the city understands is donald j trump had a prime time television show for 13 years. because it wasn't on pbs and didn't follow downtown abby people didn't understand it. a guy who knows television that well is formidable. and what trump learned and we wrote about this "in the art of the deal" and what trump learned in new york in the '80s is that any publicity which created your name correctly built strength. i think he should modify what he

is doing in terms of tweets. i think 10% less trump would be 100% more effective. but he figureded out early on that if he could engage the media he could just take all the air out of the room. all these guys are running around with money to buy tv ads on television. trump gets up in the morning and he would tweet and that would set-up the argument with morning joe. he would call it morning joe. they would argue for 20 minutes. then he would have breakfast. all morning the media is covering what trump is argue about and then at 10:00 a.m. he would do a press release and

then at 10:00 an hour on han niy for free. and his competitors are trying to raise money to get on the air and what was happening was the free media. he was the frontrunner every time except one day when dr. carson pulled ahead. nobody could say if he is the frontrunner every single poll could it be he is the frontrunner? i am in a situation where i am

watching the so-called experts. their choice is i believe believe in a fantasy that benefits me or decide the world changed and that invalidates me. i pick the fantasy. that is where we are now. and it will be interesting to see how the dance continues. i think trump will figure out an angle to break out in a way that is historic. >> look at the whole russian fantasy. what happens was the democrats said hillary want have lost. certainly, donald trump can't have won.

so somebody cheated. putin cheated. you realize this is all putin's fault. that means there must have beenclusion. for the last six months, everybody on the left has been walking around town chanting watch for the russian connection. look for the collusion. even diane feinstein said there is zeery evidence ofclusion. the newest one is awe but there was obstruction of just over the collusion. if the president wants to fire the fbi director all he's got to do is fire him. if john f. kennedy had fired hoover would people have thought it was obstruction? there is not really collusion.

it is an enormous achievement. i give the post credit that they have been more consistently wrong than "the new york times" which is an enormous challenge. so nothing on russia and not on obstruction is going to look at finances and what happens is you bring in a butch of high priced lawyers and they give up their regular career and then in the fitzgerald case where comey brought in the gadfather to his child and when they through

there was no crime because it was no longer a protected name at the cia and they knew who did it. richard leaked it. and they still appointed an independent council who promptly decided their mission was to get dick cheney. it is the most grotesque example of the danger of the power of the government. that is why i am worried about muller. i have no doubt he is a person who will do his best but he is surrounding himself with a collective group of people. the left right now is engaged in
