i believe that narcism is spectrum and i believe that most of us, i'm not meaning you, most of us who put in public eye have initial sense of confidence and there's a reason if you want to call that narcism, i don't have a problem with that, is that a dangerous sort of narcism, i don't think so. are there dangerous sorts of narcism, absolutely. we have seen it in politics but i don't think the president fits into that category at all. >> watch after words sunday night at 9:00 p.m. eastern on c-span2's book tv. >> and after a busy day at the white house we are joined by emerald robinson, one america news network, emerald robinson, what is american news? >> we are headline news, you'll get more in an hour news
11:50 am
international news than you will get in other networks along with ample coverm of washington, d.c. and national news as well. we are on certain providers, direct tv, 347, verizon fios and at&t u-verse. we celebrated 5-year anniversary. we had a big celebration in washington, d.c., we started in 2013. we are in 35 million households nationwide. >> wasn't commentator recently said the network is trying to be the voicest of true conservativ, would you agree with that? >> well, i think we are a voice of the blue-collar americans across the country, a lot of trump voters who watch our network. as far as what you get, i have a mother-in-law who is a hard-core liberal, has been a hard core voting democrat all her life and she was thrilled when i joined one america news, she loves
11:51 am
watching it, she gets straight news and from there she can form her own opinions. >> the voice of blue-collar americans, what is their agenda, what do they want to hear about, how are you different from other networks? >> very good, they want to hear a lot about the economic news, we have a strong veteran bureau base as well, we do cover a lot of the worldwide events that are national news, military news. our viewers tune whether it's economic, foreigngn policy that does affect sons they are sending off to war, a lot of them arere parents of veterans, those in the military. so you get a lot of that on our network. >> if there's a spectrum of conservative news coverage, where would you say yourself vis-a-vis fox news? >> we are pretty closely in line with fox.
11:52 am
>> take yesterday's visit at the white house by kanye west, how sit covered by conservative outlets, how is that different from what you saw for more liberal media outlet? >> that's an interesting question, even on the way over here i was listening to some of my colleagues on the radio talk and about kanye's visit which was tour of force, quite a day house and everyone is covering it in a different way and everyone has their own take on it, some people are more personal based on their own experiences. >> some just base on, i think, who they are as a network and it's really wide-ranging from him being out of his mind, does not speak for black america or some say he's a true free thinker who is ahead of the curve and progressive and looking at different ways of solving issues in the black community and talking to republican president like donald trump. so it's been verysi varied, it's interesting for me to hear my colleagues give a take on kanye
11:53 am
west. >> what's your take?e? >> i thought it was interesting. i think that -- i think that i can look at perhaps from a different lens, you know, than some of my colleagues, the way that he did his colloquy was e eccentric, that's the way we know kanye for years, there's a time he jumped on stage with taylor swift, he's never done anything that was gray and color, it's always vibrant, that's what we saw yesterday, he brought up really important issues and he was there to talk about prison reform, of course, he brought up more issues than prison reform including manufacturing, he talked about chicago and how to deal with violence there and he specifically stop and frisk and how he thinks that needs to be stopped as policy in chicago, that it creates a bad relationship between cops and the community and then he also said conversely that policemen are people, they are just like
11:54 am
us, so he touched on really important topics and topics that people care about, i think, it gotcs lost in the delivery. >> if you want to join the conversation this morning with emerald robinson with one america news network, white house correspondent, republicans since we are talking about takes, what was your take from one to have other major story lines earlierr this week out of the white house, the departure of un ambassador nikki haley? >> that was surprising news, what was surprising was there was no leaks, people were not talking about it in advance, i was very surprised. i covered the un general asengly weeks ago, and i specifically talked to people in her office. sounded like she loved her job very much and talked about how
11:55 am
she particularly ised working wh un and she created relationships there and i have to say i spoke to israeli delegation at length, they think that she's a rock star, i know they are sad to see hear go. with the kind of success she's had and the respect among allies and others, it just was very surprising news to see her go. do you believe that she would stay out of politics at least in 2020? >> i think you will hear a lot from her in 2020. she's strong voice and they will call on her at 2020 as they look to garner more women voters. >> do you think she could be potential challenge for donald trump down thehe road? >> of course, that had been a rumor and that had been a rumor in dc for months and she addressed that head on in the oval office and sounded sincere that she said that he would not be campaigning against donald trump in 2020 but campaigning
11:56 am
for.gu >> emerald robinson with us until the bottom of the hour, jim is with us, independent, jim, go ahead. >> caller: good morning, a comment and you can make your comments on my comments. [laughter] >> caller: during the communist revolution they thought economy was taking over the world and when they didn't they established a propaganda, sent toma germany the frankfurt scho, it was by max, the father of cultural marxism in the country. all of those people were sent to colombia university.ur that's what we are seeing going on righte now. we all have to think one way, they control the media, they are controlling our corporations, departments and human resources, we need to do something about this people and when i see the minorities within the democratic party are expected to be behave and i see the way kanye west
11:57 am
behaves, he reminds me of a guy in history, they are taking over everything. actually you would know online -- >> jim, who is they? >> who is they, the marxism globalist, the globalist system is set up and the chinese government is exploiting this, they want to take over and they are doing good job of it. look at the contributor? >> i do think it's an interesting comment, i do hear that in conservative circles and how it relates in kanye west saying he's not in line with what he's expected to think or be there's a merit to that. you are seeing thehe backlash of that today.
11:58 am
there's something to be said for free thought and ability to have free thought and with regard to what you address with the china issue infiltrating perhaps academiara and industry that is something that does come up often and i think that's something that actually this administration is looking at addressing when we are talking tariffs and trade practices. i think the overall strategy which we are seeing now is to address some of that infiltration that you mentioned so that's really good comment. >> augusta, georgia is next, ralph, democrat. >> hi, ralph. >> yes, i will make my point real quick, i would like to ask guest what does she think was accomplisheded yesterday, was anything accomplished positive or negative, what other thing and the reason that people like myself and others go out and accost senators is because they
11:59 am
would not respondtous and when they do they have answer, both democrats and republicans, i will take answer. >> have you ever confronted a politician in a public space? >> i have been able to -- to accost one of them but i've seen beto o'rourke when he walks around and i see him talk with people but i wasn't -- haven't been fortunate to talk to someone. >> define accost, what do you think is okay and what crosses the line? >> i'm sorry, maybe wrong choice of word but approach these people and when i approach i heard people that we are aggressive when we go but if they would talk toh us when we approach other times there wouldn't be a problem. >> ralph, i'm glad john asked you to define
